Joplins services my house twice a year. If there is a problem, they have always responded right away. I recently saw my over flow drain leaking. Not a good sign. I called Joplin's & they sent someone that afternoon. Victor Martinez the service rep came. Victor is Super. He is courteous, friendly and knows his business. He went in the attic and discovered the main drain was clogged. Victor he had to blow it out, and then hook up a vacumn to the drain line under one of our sinks where it drains . Victor spent appx 2 hours cleanding out the drain. No more leaks from the overflow. He also checked the system. All good. I would definitely recommend Joplin's AC and also ask for Victor. The tech they sent was courteous, knowledgeable, and did a great job, so I gave them 3 stars. However, I held 2 stars because I did not get the value for my money. I strongly feel that the price they charged me for the R22 refrigerant is way too much, $275 for the first pound and $225 for the succeeding pounds, plus the diagnostic fee. This price is already discounted; the original was higher. I looked up the price online, and the going rate for this refrigerant is $240 for a 5-pound tank. I have been using Joplins for 10 years for my rental properties. They do the "seasonal maintenance" twice a year and have replaced old systems. I've always trusted them. Today there was a small issue with an invoice, and the kindest phone agent Misty took care of the issue. She identified the error and called me. What a surprise to get a call that a fee was waived! Wonderful experience. AC stopped working during the night and was able to get an appointment the next morning. While I knew that most likely I just needed usual maintenance, I did not have the time to do it and and I wanted to make sure it would be up and running the next day. My technician was Ance (396) and he was super friendly and not only completed the required maintenance, showed me how to do it and gave me advice on how often to do it. At the end of the experience the quote that I was given was the exact price I paid, and when I offered a tip to the technician he declined it no matter how many times I offered. We needed an AC diagnosis. Joplin Technician came out and ran a few tests. This took him approximately 15 minutes. Said our freon was low and said the government won't allow them to add freon anymore. Therefore he suggested we purchase a new system. Afterwards, He stood in our kitchen for approximately 1 1/2 additional hours typing into his iPad. Then he emailed us several estimates. Why couldn't he just leave and email the estimate later to us? Why did we need to stay at home an additional 1.5 hours while he typed ? Also, I forgot to mention it was obvious that something had caught on fire inside our condenser, yet he refused to put this on his report. Our insurance company requires these details. So, we spent $175. For a diagnosis that was useless and wasted our entire morning with this slow moving Technician. read more

Joplin's was responsive and quick and we got our A/C fixed without any hassle. Our AC went out the end of June, during a hot spell and prepared to wait a few days before someone could come. But I called on Wed evening after hours and left a message. I got a text the next morning before their office opened that a technician would be out that day. I texted back a confirmation and got updates on his ETA and then details about the technician and a picture. He was professional and knowledgeable and had the replacement compressor with him - it was fixed that day and for a very reasonable cost. He noted that our overflow pan in the attic was getting full and recommended a larger one and installing an alert / shutoff. The office followed up within days and he came back out as scheduled to install and everything has been running great. This is important for a lot of reasons: - The office was professional, kind and they know how to run a business - everything was on time and as promised. Fixing AC and staying on top of a technician is not my fulltime job - this is why we have businesses for this. - Our last A/C Guy made us wait weeks without AC until it was convenient for him to come out (his personal business). It was just a couple months before when he replaced the fan, but didn't even check (?) or mention the compressor. - Last summer we didn't know the pan overflowed until it soaked through the ceiling and damaged a whole closet. Even then, our A/C Guy didn't recommend a fix and we were very close to having this happen again and make another claim with insurance. We will only use Joplin's - there's no reason to go anywhere else when we can get this level of professional service, quick response and solutions to our AC problems. Thank you! read more

Replaced three (3) 21-year-old TRANE systems with three (3) new Carrier Infinity systems through Joplin's Teams, and have spent several months learning (and having the intelligent SYSTEM'S learn!) about our heating and cooling patterns. The new system's work great and now that we have the thermostats correctly-calibrated and set, we couldn't be happier with the new technology. However, the value of contracting with Bill Joplin's "family" goes much-farther than the equipment they endorse - the REAL value is in their people. I've written one review on the initial installation, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the professionalism, integrity, and expertise of the entire team of support professionals, from the front-line installers themselves to the back-office support folks. My most-recent experience was more confirmation of the choice of Joplin for my HVAC needs. As I mentioned above, the new technology in the thermostats isn't always intuitive for a user to properly-set, so we requested a technician come on-site and help us with this calibration. We were visited not only by Alejandro and Roy, who clearly knew their business and spent whatever time we needed to understand the various settings and results, but also by their manager, Baltimore, or "Bouty" to his Team. Alejandro took the lead on properly-setting of the three thermostats to make each system/zone most efficient, and they all contributed valuable insight on fully-leveraging the value of our investment. Contacted Bill Joplin's Heating and Air - upstairs unit decided to no longer pump cool air...Yay! Just in time for our Texas Summer which is fast approaching. Had another DFW competitor out the day before Joplin's, due to them installing the units when the home was built. Unfortunately, the issue ended up being a replacement of the compressor, ok understood. Asked for a quote and for a replacement compressor, north of $4,000 seemed a little steep, but ok. Wife and I decided to look into a second opinion - quote wise. Called Joplin's - sure, not a problem. They came out next morning and as with the original assessment, compressor failure, again confirmed. Except this time the quote (same manufacturer / part) was south of $3,000. Huge difference and strangely interesting. So, as one does given the place, we went with Joplin's. Jesse, Joplin's tech, excellent. On time, friendly and he also gave us options outside of simply just a compressor replacement. Great, compressor ordered and 3 days later out for install. Install was completed as promised. Had a slight difference in quote to actual cost (minimal, but enough) will come back to this. Techs leave, house is warm so we expected some hours to have it cool again. With that, yes it did get cooler yet more than 12hrs later no matter the temperature set on the thermostat, the unit with it's new compressor, simply would not see it drop below 73 degrees. Hmm, ok, let's call Joplin back let them know and have someone come take a look. I call and they send a tech out ASAP, within an hour of calling - awesome service! Tech this time was Ryan (#273) - also a great tech. I explained the situation, Ryan was on it. Within about 25 mins he had diagnosed the issue. Turns out it was not an issue with the new compressor or install, but another part pertaining to the freon delivery, had issues. Ryan was able to help in an assist, of you will, as far as any "temporary" conclusion can be, until this new part is ordered and installed - it is appreciated as it did give some additional relief, as it can be for the moment. Now - back to my actual compressor cost versus quote. In the end there was some miss communication on our part and Joplin's in which Ryan was able to step in, un asked and get all of the questions we had strightened out, miss communication cleared and this original issue resolved.THAT was awesome and very much appreciated. Thanks again Ryan. This all said - not only did Joplin's deliver as promised, everyone involved was awesome, helpful, friendly and went above and beyond when needed to resolve any pertaining issue and or question. Our 13 year old goodman system served us well considering it was never maintained. All I've done is replace the air filters a few times a year and to keep the condenser clean I used my leaf blower a handful of times each season to blow debris off the side screens. I did extensive research with several HVAC companies, but since Joplin Air was the original installer in Spring 2009 and with tons of good reviews, I decided to have them schedule the install of a brand new Carrier two stage 5 ton system. It was an extremely hot Friday, 6/24/22 with a heat index over 100F and technicians, Andrew, Jake and Christian were on time and ready to go! They explained exactly what would be done and the timeframe it would take to install and test the system including the new Ecobee 5 (Andrew). I offered to provide our turbo floor fan, and water/gatorade from the mini fridge in the garage, but these guys were prepared with their own garage fans and water cooler. Jake installed a new cutoff box next to the condenser and explained the new furnace in attic. Lastly, Christian, thank you for keeping the cuts and mastic clean around our system upstairs. Every time I called Joplin Air and spoke to Grant and Shelby, they were both very helpful in answering ALL my questions. We are very happy with the install and new system. Just in time for what could be a record stretch of extremely hot weather in July exceeding 100F heat index each day. Bill Joplin's employs a large staff of highly trained, qualified, and experienced technicians who specialize in every form of HVAC installation and maintenance needs. Trust... Bill Joplin's has always maintained my equipment without trying to sell me on replace my HVAC units when a simple repair could maintain them for a few more years. I know that from experience in working with other service companies of various disciplines, without a doubt, more than half of them tried to sell me something I didn't need rather than to simply do the basic needed repair. Consideration... When you call to make an appointment, if you have any unusual or specific needs you may have regarding the type of service you require. They will schedule a qualified staff technician who can specifically address your needs. They also will send a text as a reminder of the appointment and ask for your confirmation of your appointment. Timing and Personal Safety ... Do you open the door for just anyone who may pose as a service tech? When you schedule an appointment Bill Joplin's will text you in advance that the technician is on their way. Additionally, the text will also contain the name as well as a picture of the person you can expect to show up at your door. Our Personal Experience - We moved into our house in 2013. At the time our upstairs and downstairs units were not new, and we realized they would eventually need to be replaced. The unit servicing the upstairs finally went out. We knew both units were past their expected average life span. We also had a Mini-Split unit in one room which recently stopped working prior to this event. We called Bill Joplin's and scheduled an appointment and outlined our needs. They sent out Scotty Frost, an experienced specialist in both Mini Split and general HVAC service and repair. After a thorough inspection, Scotty advised it was time to replace the mini split as well as the upstairs unit. I knew that I would have to eventually replace the downstairs unit, so I chose to take care of the entire system. Positive Results... Joplin's scheduled their technician Edgar Leon and his team to install our new systems. They presented themselves in a very professional and courteous manner and in less than three days removed and replaced our HVAC and Mini Split units. They also thoroughly cleaned up and vacuumed before they left. Follow-up...In an even more professional manner a couple of days after the completion of the installations, Joplin's sent out their Manager Gabe Hall to thoroughly inspect and approve the installation of our new units. I wish I could give this company more stars! A neighbor told me about them as she has been using them for years for her regular service, and told me the price she had. I called in and was told they don't have that price anymore, it's more expensive, but that they would honor it anyway! They were here on time, they finished pretty quickly, they were courteous. My sons room has not cooled properly in years and he had a fan in his room because of the issue. They fixed the problem and there was no extra charge. His room is now nice and cool. I will be using them for any future needs and recommending them to anyone who needs AC help. Great company! read more

Home Warranty jerked us around for months and the 5th Company they sent to fix the unit, told us we needed to buy a new unit at $16,000 We finally found Joplin's. I've used the company for the past few years. Over that time I have had them over a minimum of 2x per year. In the last year a shift has occured to where their service has gone from good to distrustful. In the spring of this year, they tried to state that a new AC was needed, costing thousands. A second opinion was warrented & the outcome was a few small parts that cost only a few hundered dollars. Most recently, they came to (once again) inspect for routine maintance only to find a "major issue". After having a second opinion (once again), I come to find out that it was a simple fix costing minimal dollars. A few more items to note...upon calling Bill Joplin to gain insight in to what the issue was they falsified information within the report. I know this due to the gentleman on the phone reading me the report, to which I corrected him. When asking the second company if the issue most recently was something that looked to have been done purposely vs. usual "wear and tear", the response was..purposefully. The bahvior of this company is unethical and it is something I will no longer stand for. I do not plan to use there services again. The only reason for the 1 star is that they do have good customer service (via phone). read more

Signed up for their service agreement and had a tech out to service my 3 units before the heat cranks up. Tech stepped through my ceiling above a spare room and didn't bother to let me know. It took me a few weeks to realize what took place due to it being a spare room. Once I realized what had happen i called them and they sent someone out to investigate. Upon investigation they claimed that it wasn't their tech, even though i haven't had anyone else in my attic since the service call. I will be cancelling my service agreement with them and would not recommend them to anyone. An honest company would have taken care of the repair to keep a customer. They also tried to price gouge me on replacing an outside condensing unit and after price checking them they were 30% higher than multiple other companies. Do not use them!!! read more

Being that it's Monday, I explained I couldn't wait that long without AC, I may have to see if someone else could get here sooner. Seeing as how this place is highly rated and recommended to me by my local moms group on Facebook, I was actually looking forward to calling them, to set up an appointment for my annual air conditioning maintenance check. Unfortunately though, the lady that answered the phone was quite nasty. Joplin's may be great, but whoever handles phone calls needs some more training...or a lesson in basic social skills, perhaps. When I called, I first asked if they service the area that I live in (which is a bit of distance from McKinney) and the lady who answered the phone didn't even seem to hear me. She just flat out said that they are not taking any new customers. I was disappointed to hear this, so I said, "oh...may I ask why you're not taking new customers, and when you might be taking them again?". There was an awkward silence and she then said, "uhh...if we take any more new customers then we may not be able to take care of the customers that we already have...and since we want to be able to take care of the customers that we already have, we aren't taking any more new ones" (speaking very slowly, as though answering questions for a potential customer isn't a part of her job description). I was shocked to hear her say that, and with such an unnecessary attitude, too. She then said, "we may take new customers in the future, at some point. I don't know". Umm, how hard would it have been to just say something like, "I'm sorry that we're not taking new customers at this time, but I can take down your contact information and call you as soon as we have some availability"? That's how you get customers. What a shame- Joplin's will not be getting my business, and it sounds like they don't want it either. It's sad that their employee felt that my eagerness to give Joplin's a chance meant that I should be spoken to like I'm stupid. Thankfully, there are plenty of other options in the area. read more

I had Joplin come out to look at our larger AC unit as our previous tech said he needed to top up the coolant. Since he was unavailable I called Joplin. The tech spent about 5 minutes looking things over and told me I needed a new expansion valve. The old valve was only 18 months old. Next day I got a call with a price from the head office $600+. The internet estimates this type of repair between 350-425. Since I was unsure of the diagnosis I called a local (Anna, TX) company. They spent about 15 minutes to diagnose that I was a little low on coolant. Total cost $72. No need for an inflated expansion valve. It is clear to me that Joplin as trying to sell a repair that wasn't needed at a greatly inflated price. Be careful with these guys. Get a local reference if you can from someone you trust. read more

From diagnosis to resolution they were nothing short of top notch. Our neighbors recommended them and they were right with that recommendation. Just had my semi annual HVAC checkup. Ance did a great job. Checked everything out and found a capacitor that was about to fail. Replaced the capacitor, hosed out the condenser coils outside (in the rain), and made sure that he didn't track anything into the house. I will request him for my fall checkup. read more

Based upon the positive customer reviews on Yelp as well as the fact that this HVAC company is a local company, I contacted them to repair my AC unit that had developed a leak. I was very happy that a repair call was available the next day (as another company could not come out for another week). The technician, Nick, was very pleasant and took the time to clearly explain what work needed to be done and approximately how much time it would take. After determining what part was leaking, fully explaining my options and obtaining authorization to complete the repair work, Nick completed the necessary work in spite of the fact it was late in the day. He also took the time to show me the most efficient use of our thermostats (to save energy costs). We appreciate Nick's professionalism, diligence and attention to detail. He is a true asset to the company and represents the company well. We were also very satisfied with the final cost of repair. We also plan to use Joplin's for our future HVAC maintenance plan. We ask them out annually for system checkup and occasionally for a remedial type call.
