Just incredibly expensive, but responsive and good follow up. Didn't use them because other bids were half the price. They might have a bigger overhead not sure why their bid was so high but just way out of the ballpark that I was playing in. Nice people. I wish I would have read these reviews before hiring Prosser Painting. 100% nightmare and the most unprofessional of dealings with the owner. The crew worked hard in his absence with little to no communication from him. He upcharged the job (like mentioned in another review an additional $1400), and he NEVER once was here overseeing the crew working on his job! When his subcontractors left the job was UNFINISHED! He gave us a few hundred dollars to finish the mess! AND, to top it off, he filed a lien against my home! LOL! I paid him 2 months later because we hadn't had any time to finish up his mess. The job was literally on our hands...we paid ourselves and got a lien filed! This is a nightmare! read more

Manager Quoted me $1500. I told the manager if he did a really good job, I offered $500 more only because I know trailers are a bit more difficult. I made it crystal clear to the painter and manager that I needed the lights taken off, tow bar, winch, and jack prior to painting. I showed up after a week and the trailer was painted grey instead of satin black. He said sometimes it changes color after it dries. Lol. It's not turning black after it looks grey. I definitely was not a happy camper so he said he would re paint it. Oh before I forget...the winch, tow bar, jack, and lights to include the lic plate was painted and not covered. I have pics as well. Also, he mentioned that several of the brackets needed replacement because the sand blaster took the rust off and it sheared off. Understandable. After he was unsuccessful at locating brackets, I located a company in Tacoma who had to special make them. The manager gave me the size of the brackets so I got them in rush order and paid an additional $161 for brackets. None fit when I dropped them off even though he gave me the demensions but I didn't know that until I picked up the trailer. He said he was gonna call me just like he said he was gonna call me when the trailer was painted grey. SMH. At time of pickup, I did not want to get into it and the manager had the audacity to still charge me the $2000 for a great job. Lol X10. My boat mechanic met me at the house and he builds 500,000 boats for the government and law enforcement agencies. He looked at the paint job and said " who rattle canned the trailer"? To top the last mess up the manager tells me yesterday that he can't install the new lights after he said they would. I wasn't shocked any longer. The pictures speak for themselves. I was being nice to volunteer to pay extra for a great job and he took complete advantage of our kindness. Not shocking! We will never recommend this business and the rating should actually be ZERO. Horrible business practices and zero customer service satisfaction. He also kept our tow bar and said he forgot to give it to me. He said I can pick it up Monday. We will see. He also said I can pick up paint for the hitch to paint at home. In the fenders it looked like a brush was used and the satin finish is sporadic at best. He said he put 2 coats on and it's not taking. Why charge me excellent job pricing when the entire job was less than sub par? Once I speak to the actual owner Glen, this review may change or it may not, we will see. read more

Run like the wind from this guy. His estimate said that he was going to provide us all of the materials, but he never paid the suppliers, so we had to pay them directly to finish the job. Most of the work was very shoddy and I had to hire someone else to fix it. He said it would take three weeks and the project ended up taking 6 months. He comes off as a folksy kind of guy but if you look him up online there are all sorts of issues. read more

My experience working with Prosser Construction is one that I hope to help others avoid. For the three projects Prosser quoted, he was between 1.5-2.0x higher than the next closest bid. Some of which were companies that are known for premium work and having staffed labor. I negotiated the price on a drywall project down to an acceptable level but still the highest bid, and accepted only because Prosser could start sooner and made very fair promises. Unfortunately, the project took 3x longer than quoted and during that time, Prossers communication was extremely limited. As the project manager, he was not existent but I gave him benefit of the doubt. When the project was 2 weeks past it's completion date and i noticed the workers were only showing up sporadically, i talked to his sub contractor and they informed me they had not been paid an adequate amount to delicate time to my project. Prosser has essentially pocketed the 50% down payment. When I addressed this with Prosser, suggesting we meet and talk about how to handle the project and my recommendation to pay his hired subcontractors directly, instead of agreeing to meet I was met immediately with three threats. First was to sue me. Second was to put a lien on my house. Third was to add additional charges to the invoice including design fees and consultation fees (a drywall hanging project). I then received an invoice, which was $500 more than his quote. His explanation was that he had to add tax. However the original quote agreed to already had tax. When I said I did not agree to the added charge, he threatened me with a lien on my house. With the advice of an attorney, I paid his workers directly to make sure the job was finished and paid the additional charge under contest. The fight and a lien was not worth $500 -- I have to imagine this is a tactic he successfully uses with others too. I hope through my ability to write an honest review of my experience of Prosser over committing, poor customer support, and non existent ethics, others will be informed before awarding a job to Prosser and before choosing to work for him as a subcontractor. I hired Prosser Painting to paint my 4,000 sq ft house after I met with Danielle their estimator. Not only was their estimate fair, she had the painters at my house 24 hours later. Other contractors put me on their list of houses to do...not good business in my opinion. My house turned out beautiful and I was pleased to see the painting crew included both men and women. Danielle showed up throughout the job checking in with me on my satisfaction along the way. I would highly recommend them!! read more

We had two projects that Prosser Paint and Construction aka Prosser Paint and Construction LLC, and Prosser Design Build, Glenn K Prosser owner, worked on on our home in Kitsap County WA. Painting the outside of our home and replacing the planks and railings of our deck. IT WAS AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE!! We live out of state but have renters in the home.I was told by Prosser that he was experienced with working with out of state clients. That he would send me photos each time the project was started and several times per week. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN. I had to continue to ask for updates and after about two weeks I got the photos. IT was a DISASTER!! Painting I was informed my color choice was not on trend/very dated. Prosser stained the shingles nondescript brown instead of the natural clear stain. I wasn't aware of that color but was told I needed to choose a different paint color because it wouldn't go well with the shingles. Still no photos were sent. We chose what I thought was a different grey and a very clean white. I was told that color was too blue and I needed to go warmer. I chose a warmer grey and asked: Is this a good grey and please paint it on a board first so that I could see what it looked like instead of basing it on the small sample from the paint store. That didn't happen. He just painted the house.I did receive a photo of the house. IT is nothing that I would've initially chosen. I told him to stop painting and start working on the deck, I would be out in 3 days to look at things. HE chose to take his crew off my project completely. When I arrived the trim work was sloppy, the paint uneven, the worksite was trashed and unsafe. When asked to come out and walk the site, he wanted to just talk on the phone instead. I had just flown out 3,000 miles to look at the project and to go over what needed to be completed with him, before a final check was cut. He did come out. And looked at the site he commented that it's not what he thought it should be but that we can work things out. I asked that he bring his crew back on so that it could be finished before I had to leave. He said, yes that would happen. IT DIDN'T. DECK. I requested cedar posts/railings/ and we have builder's grade fir. I was charged for cedar. It was also cracking, not checking. I asked that they be replaced with cedar. IT WASN'T. The kickplates on the stairs were rough side out instead of smooth. I was told they were fine. That this was the correct way to do it in Washington. ( it's not ) I asked about the railings on the stairs and was assured that would be done too. IT WASN'T. I asked that the cabling be tightened. I was told they would get to that (they didn't) I was informed about all the expensive materials they used and they needed more money. My response was that's not what your contract says, when things are finished I'll give you the rest of the money. I was then called every disgusting name you can think of for a woman and I was told that he was going to put a lien on our house and sue us. We informed him that he was not to have contact with me or our renters. He then had his crew come over and try and finish the job. His employee apologized for the "poor quality of work done on your beautiful home" and that same employee said in an email that "he has awful customer service". Unfortunately here's the kicker--he was promising to complete work and he had his employees working at our house when he DID NOT have an ACTIVE LICENSE or BOND!!! THE WORK was NOT COMPLETED. WE FIRED HIM!! After firing Prosser with cause by certified letter due to improper conduct (attempting and/or pledging to provide contracted work when his bond was not active), lack of communication pertaining to the lapsed bond, substandard materials and contracting work, and unprofessional conduct to include vulgar, verbally abusive, and threatening language he has attempted to collect additional money from us through Small Claims Court in Kitsap County.  During our hearing with the Judge his statements and behavior only reinforced our experiences and impressions that he is not trustworthy nor is his business or conduct reputable.  One of the most galling examples of this revealed during the hearing was that he was seeking through his Claim to have us pay for the fine assessed to him by WA L&I for improper contractor behavior related to our home as reported by us to WA L&I.  We believe other online reviews will testify to Prosser's attempts to intimidate and threaten clients--the exact opposite of proper and professional behavior that any homeowner should expect or receive.  If you as well feel you've been victimized by Prosser's conduct and poor contracting we urge you to report what you experienced as we have done to WA L&I and to file a complaint with WA Better Business Bureau. On the phone he sounded honest said he wouldn't bid for my rental unit painting because he does custom home painting and would be to expensive. He admitted I could find someone cheaper. So I set up a date to have him bid for the construction job I needed down. The day came and 20 minutes after the appointment time passed he called and asked if I was there, I told him I was. I opted to not make him feel bad that I had waited an hour from my last appointment on just him. He than asked if I still wanted him to come? I told him only if he wanted to or we could set another day and time. He asked when I needed the work done by and told me he was really booked up for a couple months and if I needed it done right away to go with someone else. I told him I would get back to him... but I won't. I can't rate the work because none was done. I can say that he made me feel from the get go my projects were beneath him and not worth his time but wasting my time seemed perfectly acceptable. Do with that what you may. read more

You are making it way more difficult than it has to be. I bid on painting the house, not repairing ll of the issues. I think it best if I pass on this job. Prosser Painting was a total mess to deal with. Glenn Prosser the owner is disorganized and does not follow up well. He employed a painter who made a total mess of my house and then tried to charge me a second fee for sending out competent painters to fix the first guy's mess. These competent painters told me they were embarrassed at what their fellow worker had called a professional paint job. Further, they said they had complained to Glenn Prosser the owner about his poor work on previous jobs. Despite this, Prosser sent him to paint my house. It was to be a one week job. It stretched to over 5 weeks and included the painter dumping paint and thinner in my garden, spilling paint on wood and tile floors, and leaving walls half covered. This company should not be in business. I have also filed with BBB to hopefully protect anyone else from dealing with this company. read more

I highly recommend Prosser Construction. I needed to have a deck/patio area off my French doors and found Prosser painting online. Glenn, the owner returned my call and set up an appointment. He was punctual and pleasant. We talked about my budget, what I wanted, and he gave me suggestions on what he felt would be the most functional design and use of the space. He also explained what materials he would be using and why, which I appreciated. He was able to work me into his schedule and his carpenters arrived as planned and began my deck when he said they would. The materials he used were very good quality and (although I am not an expert) the workmanship looks excellent to me. My deck was completed just before the bad fall weather arrived. I had a tree come through my roof last winter, made some calls and had a few different companies come out for a bid but Prosser Painting & Construction gave us a bid that was extremely reasonable for the work that needed done so we hired them and was very pleased that we did. Glen Prosser and his team went above and beyond to ensure a result that exceeded our expectations as home owners. Glen offered me a bid that was well below what his competitors were presenting for our project. Our project was extensive - we had over 1000 square feet of paneling that needed to be removed and replaced with drywall. Kirk, who works for Glen, was superb and very conscientious - he oversaw all the work done, making sure that there were consistent and high quality results throughout the house. I was especially impressed by Kirk's willingness to work with our situation - we have three small children and it was not always possible to move furniture when he needed it moved. However, Kirk took it upon himself to help out and went above the call of duty to move our furniture and work within our needs. In the end, we are very happy with the end result. I had originally picked a very bright gold paint, but after it had been applied, I realized that it wasn't what I wanted. Glen helped me to pick a more classic paint that suited our walls better and didn't even charge for the painting they did prior. Glen was very patient, reliable, and made me feel confident throughout the whole process that a quality end would be reached. I am so happy - we got exceptional workmanship for an affordable price. Pam I had a similar experience, except he did show up and gave me a quota, which was two high....I told him he was about twice the price of another quote I receive, and he said well I don't just slap paint on I do quality work! I also inquiried on how he came up with the Sq Ft he was quoting and he said he went to Zillow and add the house plus garage.....which actually over stated the Sq Footage by about 1300 sq ft....did not measure the siding he would paint and that is where his quote was higher.....had nothing to do with quality!
