This company was sent by AAA. My wife's car buttery had died. Twice AAA sent this company, but the incompetent technician couldn't figure out how to open the door with a dead battery, and the attempted to pry open the hood to get to the battery, with a metal instrument like a crowbar. This caused damage to the latch, which cost us $450 to repair We called the company for reimbursement and they told us to call AAA. AAA said the companies they recommend are independent contractors and they should cover the damage Pro Star has many one star reviews, and I suggest you review them. Before writing this, I asked the manager ( David) to call me regarding this issue multiple times, but he did not. AAA also failed us by not submitting our damage report, which was filed the same day as the occurrence, for months to an adjuster. David responded to this post but would not talk with me. There was no pre- existing damage to the latch. Something bigger than a screw driver was used. AAA never looked at the latch as it was replaced before the report was filed with an adjuster. Photos before replacement don't show rust as the ptoblem- their technician just couldn't figure out how to open the latch. David's statements are untrue. Again, review all the one star reviews on this company. We had no problem with the hood prior to their intervention. The car was always service at Ford. I'm writing this review on behalf of my mom who received excellent service from ProStar via AAA. We needed a car to be started so we could rearrange the orientation of the cars in our driveway/garage so that we could donate a car we had in our garage. Doing this, we had to move the garage car out of where it was, then put the driveway car into the garage. My mom was helped by a man named Terrance(Hopefully the correct spelling) who was extremely nice and helpful throughout the whole process. He not only did what he needed to do in starting the single car, but provided exceptional help beyond that in helping my mom complete the whole task she needed done. My mom is an older woman who would otherwise not have been able to complete some of the physical tasks she needed done at the time. Luckily Terrance came to help with a wonderfully positive attitude. Yesterday evening, I was leaving a concert in Mountain View when I realized my rear left tire was flat. AAA came out and put the donut on, and sent me on my way. After about 15 minutes of driving, the donut also went flat. This is how I ended up in Fremont, extremely overwhelmed and stressed, on the phone with AAA again. Oscar from ProStar came to my rescue and then some. First, he called me before he even arrived to let me know that AAA had selected to tow me to a mechanic shop, that is not able to do any work on tires, so while I was waiting for him to arrive I selected a new destination to be towed to. Once he showed up, he was extremely kind, considerate, and helpful. His positive attitude and general kind demeanor went so far in helping me feel better when I was at absolute maximum stress levels. Although I had determined with the AAA person on the phone that I would need a tow, Oscar first tried to re-inflate the donut by putting more air in it, and then tested the tire pressure. However, once we re-tested it, we realized it could not hold air and Oscar advised me to not drive it home. We towed my car across town and he dropped me off at the Fremont BART station afterwards so I could get home. Again, I can not emphasize enough how much I needed a kind tow person after the night I was having, and Oscar put me at ease in one of the most stressful situations I've ever been in. 5 stars based on our experience last Wednesday when my BF's car broke down. Mike "Buzz" provided excellent service and went above and beyond to help us. Right when we met him I knew that this guy was very nice and cared a lot about his customers. His attitude and energy was so positive and he was humorous! He believes members first and that every phone call matters, and he kept emphasizing it throughout the ride home. He was honest with us and tried his best to figure how to bring my bf's car to the Mazda dealership. He called us afterwards not just to tell us that he dropped off the car successfully, but he gave his honest opinion on what happened to the car, etc. Thank you Mike "Buzz" for brightening our miserable day. My Daughter called AAA after locking her keys in the trunk. She thought she placed her car keys in a shopping bag while unloading the car, and accidentally closed the truck with that last shopping bag still in the trunk. To make a long story longer, the latch to pop the trunk next to driver's seat was broken. Tony with ProStar Towing was outstanding!!! After opening the front door, and discovering the truck latch was broken, Tony did not giving up. He proceeded to work on getting thought the back seat to the trunk release latch inside the trunk. Not wanting to damage the seats or speaker system, he found a way to manipulate a special tool to catch the release latch with patience and skill. He was professional and I could tell I was In good hands. He asked me a couple questions and tried to get the car started. It wouldn't start so we had it towed nearby. I had a great experience with ProStar via AAA. I was surprised that upon returning to my car after a meeting that the battery was dead. Caput. Nada. Jacob (or Bryan on his shirt) showed up quickly and let me know that although he restarted the car easily, the battery diagnostic showed the battery needed to be replaced NOW! Ugh. I live in Livermore and the thought of driving home to the mechanic and then getting a new battery at 5pm was not my idea of a good time. Luckily- ProStar to the rescue! They had the exact battery I needed and *they could install it RIGHT there in the parking lot**!! The battery has a 6 year guarantee and I'm so happy to not have to worry about it anymore. Be careful. These guys will try to scam you! Antonio towed my car and tells me that they will cancel out the AAA claim and bill my insurance. I told him I do not have full coverage and my insurance will not cover the tow. He still goes ahead and cancel my AAA claim! Here's what really happened and I have witnesses. I called in the tow request under AAA. AAA sent this tow company to me. The driver shows up trying to badger me into cancelling my AAA request and wanting to bill my insurance instead. He claims he is trying to help me save money! I told him repeatedly my insurance does not cover towing. He decided on his own authority to cancel the AAA request (for obvious reasons) even after I explicitly told him it's not covered. At no point did I authorize him to cancel my AAA request nor did he even try to "help" verify whether my insurance covered towing. He tried to take advantage of the situation, rushing to take my car to their tow yard. AAA themselves don't understand why the company cancelled my AAA request. The only thing I can say was that they did correct the towing situation so at least the management did the right thing. My car was not leaking gas and I change my own oil so I have a pan to drain engine fluid. Municipal Code for California can be found here https://library.municode.com/ca. If you READ it (don't take anyone's word) most cities give you at least 3 days, some 30 days to address removing a wrecked car on your property. I also confirmed with multiple city officials that you have a grace period. It may not be this company's policy to tow your car to your house but there's nothing that says they cannot (confirmed again with city officials and reading the municipal code). 3 days should be more than sufficient to decide what to do with your car but of course the standard procedure is to take it to their tow yard where they charge you a storage fee of $85 per day and a $100 gate fee on the weekends. Prostar towing auto service located at 5620 Boscell Common Fremont Ca 94538 was contacted by Newark police to tow my car for expired registration. When they tow truck driver came, or when they brought my car up, the clutch left the in gear, becasue the doors were locked. Vw adventure wagen takes epic trip up north. Dies in fremont, ca. Call aaa and get pro star, ask to get taken to a shop with awesome yelp reviews. On the way the driver asks why we didn't take it to a aaa approved shop & suggests a shop. I kind of blow it off saying the other shop can get us right in. Then the truck stops at pro star. I ask my man to inqure what is up with our reroute and he kind of waffles and goes along with it. I'm annoyed that the drivers (who probably get some kind of kickback or thats what I'm telling myself) took us to their shop & I jump terrible conclusions. The mechanic goes on lunch just as we show up. We wait. Then the wonderful news, just a rough idle & a screw that needed to be tightened. NO CHARGE! And they put up pleasantly with my snootyness. Lies! If we were in a safe place, why did the CHP come and pick up my disabled mother and I and take us to a safe spot because it was dangerous for us to be there. But most of all, I want everyone to know that you did not care about our lives, safety or the fact that we were stranded. I received excellent service from Pro Star via AAA membership. The technician was very thorough and he was very helpful in replacing my car battery since it was at the end of it's life. He didn't have the right kind of battery in his vehicle but he went back to the ProStar shop and picked one up, returning very quickly. It saved me a lot of hassle having to go get one somewhere else. The technician, Jacob (name on receipt) or Bryan (name on his uniform) provided excellent, friendly customer service. I called to have my Silverado towed last week. AAA sent a truck out. I also drive a tow truck here in the east bay. Here's where the problem is. My truck is lowered on bags. So when I called I asked for a flat bed. He shows up in a wrecker and looks very intimidated by the tow. I asked him if he's good and had any questions. I asked this due to the fact that I am certified through Wreck Master. He asks me if it's cool to dollie my truck? My answer was ... Are you confident enough to dollie? He said...Yes. So with my drop address in his hand I left and went to the shop that was working on my truck.. He pulls in like 30 min later with my New Silverado loaded on dollies without a single strap. No dollie straps. And no safety chains.. Thankfully no damage to my truck.. Just the gross negligence really turned me off for Pro Star. My truck can be replaced but if he had lost my truck off his on the freeway in an accident it would have killed or injured another motorist... BAD TRAINING FELLAS COULD END YOUR BUSINESS read more

I scheduled a tow with AAA and it said I wouldn't be able to get a tow until 4:45 PM literally 20 minutes after scheduling it he was calling me letting me know that he was 10 minutes out. REVIEW FOR LOT ON BOSCELL IN FREMONT: This company is rated below zero stars. My son was in an accident and they towed the car here. Their customer service is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. My insurance company stated to me that I should go release the car to them so they can tow it to their yard, upon arrival I signed a release and told the front desk we needed to take his belongings out including a car stereo system that we purchased and had proof of purchasing the system, it was not a stock stereo - with AAA insurance allowing us too. We proceeded to the yard and started emptying the car - as it may be totaled - and my son was in the back disconnecting his speakers and one of the owners was in the yard for about 15 minutes before approaching my son. This white racist owner came up to my son - with unprofessional attitude and continually harassing him, smirking telling him he was not allowed to disconnect anything and threatening to call the cops. I then told him, we weren't told that we couldn't take anything attached even though we had proof it was our system and not part of the stock car, he continued to yell at me and belittle me in front of my two sons, which are African american. He then called another tall white man out and he continued to harass me as well. I told him go ahead and call the cops. there was alot of other words thrown at me from these two white racist men, but are not appropriate for the internet. I then decided to leave and now the car will be towed by AAA insurance and we are scheduled to get the system out. They are belligerent, full of hatred for people of color, rude and have no customer service. If is unfortunate that they could have just said as we entered the yard, not to de-attach anything that was attached... communication is key in customer service. On Saturday, my car's battery went dead, and I called AAA to get the battery changed. AAA said it would be about an hour until someone could come out. Moments later they called back to say someone would be there in 20 minutes. 15 minutes later Tony showed up to check my car. He ran diagnostics to check my charging system, and indeed I needed a new battery. He exchanged my battery, keeping my car clean, and kept my son entertained by answering all of his questions.
