I thought to myself as I received a recommendation for Prostone Services to repair my counter top that had the rod-induced corrosion cracks. Folks on Nextdoor made comments such as, "Just get some epoxy and do it yourself, any vendor is going to do no better and charge you and arm and a leg." However, someone else posted the Prostone website and I checked it out. They had photos of other projects that looked improbably good, but given the shape of mine and my general laziness at tasks like this, I was pretty sure they would do better than I. I sent a request for quote and that's where the "Pro" kicked in. Their assistant Maria was very responsive and offered a detailed email with list of remediation techniques with different prices. I reviewed them, sat on them for a month, and then sent her a note saying we were ready. She rapidly scheduled an appointment, and Jonathan and Calvin arrived on-time ready to go. They really took proper care doing this. They wore booties, placed the toolboxes carefully, set up drop clothes all over potential areas with tape and plastic, and carefully move things out of their way. The work was done carefully and efficiently, and as you can see from the pictures, the quality of the work exceeded expectations. I was also pleased that they re-caulked the entire sink and also added grout to the backsplash seam. They were also super-friendly and able to explain the repair and care very clearly. The cost was equivalent to other skilled craft labor, think plumber rates, not exactly cheap but you're adding years to your countertop at a fraction of the replacement cost. Every now and then I pine for the proverbial sixth-star, and Prostone would definitely earn it. Very professional, top quality work at a fair price; they have my highest recommendation. read more

Amazing customer service. I had a Quartz (not natural stone, hence much more challenging) counter top that needed fixing because my contractor who installed it (brand new countertop!) messed it up. I was heart broken honestly. As I researched, I came across another yelper that said great things about Prostone, so I reached out to them. Jonathan Ong, the owner, was great at communicating what's realistc right from the start and was patient with me in educating me on various options for fixing it. This review is overdue because I wanted to wait to see the results. I have Limestone tiles in my kitchen and hallways which became dirty due to installer error in the sealing process. I had 2 experts who came in and gave me cleaning estimates with outrageous prices. The company which sold me the tiles recommended Prostone as another expert. Johnathan, the owner, came in, evaluated the situation, and gave an estimate which I thought was more reasonable than others. They started and finished the project on time, professionally, and with quality. I had 3 smaller fixes and Johnathan fixed them without charging me. He then recommended the correct solution for future cleaning and maintaining the tiles, which I just used, and the results were good. Johnathan was honest and fair. I have a high end glazed terracotta tile entryway to my house. It's light colored and collects scuff marks that I have been unable to remove. The floor is fragile and easy to damage, so I thought it would be best to have a professional handle the job. When Jonathan came over to asses the situation I was expecting one of two outcomes: a) nothing could be done and I'd be stuck with a dirty floor, or b) I'd be paying a lot of money for a high end cleaning. Jonathan and his brother, Anthony, did a great job with polishing and sealing our marble shower (including restoring the area under the shower door/frame), removing spots on our marble bathtub and vanity, and polishing and sealing our marble floor. I just hired Prostone Service to repair a broken tile. A crystal vase accidentally dropped and put a hole in the tile. Unfortunately there were no extra matching tiles to replace the damaged one. Could not have been more disappointed with Albert's work and professionalism. His SLOPPY work has ruined our all-white tiled bathroom and his "completed" job of re-caulking and grouting our bathroom was only evident in the fact that it now looks far worse. He failed to color-match the caulking and grouting in our all white bathroom, leaving us with a beige and grey mess. To make matters worse, nothing about the job (disregarding the fact that the color wasn't even right) was neat nor finished. We have peaks and valleys in his grouting work, grey grout left dried to our sink/bathroom fixtures/tile surfaces, and extremely uneven lines, not giving a clean nor finished look at all. I am still wondering how he claims this as his specialty. His dismissive attitude, incessant arguing, and patronizing responses to my concerns left me very uncomfortable. I found him so hard to work with that I will be repairing his poor job myself as I don't even want him in my home again. read more

I used this company because of a recommendation through a sales person from California Carpets. I would never use them again nor recommend them. The President, Albert, was arrogant, fast talking as well as over priced. They did not get out the dirt patterns that other company's have in the past. My carpet feels hard and dry, as if they did not pull out the chemicals used. Other companies usually take 3-4 hours to do the same footage, these two guys were in and out in 1-1/2 hours. Did a great job with granite kitchen counter that hadn't been properly cleaned in years. More importantly, did a great job in restoring bath stone floor, including the shower, which was 3 years old, and which was probably never sealed properly by the contractor. Cleaned it, removed spots and stains, honed it and sealed it. Did a terrific job; it looks great! Also recaulked the shower at base of wall and did a much better job than the original.
