I came in at 12:30 PM and stayed until 1:30 PM, specifically offering to pay extra for the barber's time to ensure Chris could focus on the precise details I had documented in my notes. Despite this and the premium $55 price, the results were far from acceptable. I requested no product, yet product was applied anyway; once I was home and washed it off, I realized the cut was significantly worse than I initially anticipated. There was zero attention to detail, and the final look is completely unfinished. I'm super picky when it comes to picking a barber. Unfortunately, I don't get to the shop as often as I'd like and when I do arrive, my beard is usually a hot mess. I found Malik in October and he's the best barber in Sacramento. Hands down, it up for debate. My man is a perfectionist and takes his time to work. That's absolutely what I look for in a barber. I have been here 3 different times for a fade, great service and high quality work each time. Each time i had a different barber, i dont think you can go wrong with any barber here, they all seem to be very good at what they do, especially with the owner Chris, he was perhaps still a cut above the rest. Everyone here is super solid tho. They did great job with lining up my beard too. The pricing is very good and affordable compared to other fade barbers. They move fast, but the vibe is also laid back and friendly, They take cash OR card , I have only paid cash in my visits but its a GREAT PLUS to have that option if you need it. Although they accept walk-ins, you are not guaranteed to be seen , so I highly advise to make an appointment. This place can get very busy, and so you're kind of taking a risk by doing a walk in, especially on a day where they might be short a couple barbers who are out sick or on vacation. 2 out of my 3 visits were walk ins and i was taken care of both times, but imma just stick to making appointments moving forward for the sake of time and peace of mind. Once again, I am confronted with a profound sense of disrespect, and I am compelled to believe that if I were hearing, I would not be subjected to such treatment. The affront is further exacerbated by the fact that this occurred in the presence of my 7-year-old son, an innocent bystander to such unwarranted hostility. Despite arriving a mere 11 minutes late, due to circumstances entirely beyond my control--circumstances that were both legitimate and unavoidable--I was met with an abhorrent attitude. I had made prior reservations for both myself and my son, ensuring two appointments were secured. Yet, upon my arrival, the very first interaction was a curt and condescending exclamation, "YOU'RE LATE." Even after informing the individual of my Deafness, he brazenly repeated this in front of my son, further compounding the insult. This individual, rather than extending the basic decency of writing down what he wished to communicate, chose instead to raise his voice, not for clarity, but seemingly to demean. His focus was not on accommodating a loyal customer but rather on amplifying his disdain. Adding insult to injury, this individual failed to recognize the value of a returning customer--one who brings in not one, but two paying clients, and consistently tips well. In any sensible business, retaining such clientele would be a priority, an elementary understanding for anyone seeking to maintain a thriving enterprise. However, this individual chose folly over foresight. By his own actions, he not only forfeited the second appointment but also lost the patronage of two regular customers who frequented his establishment monthly. I have, therefore, made the deliberate choice to drive an hour and a half to an establishment where my business is valued and where respect is reciprocal. I find it particularly egregious that this person would disrespect a Deaf father in front of his hearing child, punishing the boy simply because he harbored animosity towards the adult for a slight delay--an absurd reason when the child's haircut could have still been accommodated. Respect is not an entitlement but a mutual exchange, earned through considerate and fair treatment. It is, quite simply, a two-way street--not a one-way thoroughfare. Derrick is really a great barber! I have taken my son to SEVERAL different barbers in Sacramento and I can honestly say he is consistently on point with his cuts! My son is easy-going but I am super picky about my child's hair. I have had to stop taking my son to most other barbers because they just weren't consistently good. I have noticed other barbers leaving patches or dull lines and sometimes I had to stop going because the shop talk was just too inappropriate! Not this shop! This shop is professional and clean and they all seem to be on business in there. As long as this keeps up, I won't be going anywhere else. I recently made a same day appointment to get my sides shaved ( for context I am female)I was booked with one of the new barbers which was fine. My appointment was at 12:45pm I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment when I walked in I said hello to everyone and it fell on deaf ears. They could hear me fine just chose not to speak. It almost immediately became uncomfortable. The barber stations were completely booked with customers. Only one barber at the far end next to the bathroom smiled and waved. No other communication happened after that. I sat there for almost 30 minutes annoyed because I had to leave my car running because my kid was inside. Yes I know , why didn't you just leave ? Well I really needed my hair cut that day and this was the only time I could find to get it done Anyhow, I was so uncomfortable just sitting their with all the men trying the best not to make any type of Eye contact with me . It doesn't help that the waiting area is right in their faces either. A total of three men at differing times walked into the shop after me and were all greeted and asked if they had an appointment or a walk in and given an estimate of how long before they were serviced. Reminding you no one has said anything to me at all. Finally the guy that was suppose to cut my hair looked at me confused and asked if I was there for the 12:45 appointment . I am assuming the only reason someone even spoke to me is because the walk-in's were being taken care of by the other barbers. I was in complete disbelief the whole time. What an awful experience. I am fairly new to the area so finding a good local barber is ideal but I would never go back to this place for myself or my family . You run a business and if women coming into your shop annoys you or makes you feel uncomfortable then find something else to do. It is 2021 for freaking sakes! Women get their hair cut. read more

I like that appointments are booked online, instead of having to call and interrupt the barber or even my day. Simple, easy process, and if I need to cancel or reschedule, all can be managed through the website as opposing to having to make a call. Shout out for the free WiFi! During my last appointment, I needed to prepare for a web-meeting for work, while waiting to be serviced. I was planning to use my Hot Spot until I noticed the WiFi sign on the door. Chris has cut my hair twice so far. He is professional, personable, funny, and listens to the customers needs. I was slightly indecisive on which direction to go with my hair, and Chris made a recommendation I was pleased with.
