Really loved this place! Came here for lunch on a weekend afternoon and service was quick. However, I can't imagine how busy they are during a typical weekday lunch hour. There is a good selection of salads and wraps. I got the Guac and Roll and it was tasty. Wasn't too large and I was able to eat most of the wrap. I've only been to this place a couple times and let me tell you, it's pretty dang awesome. I got the hi-5 and the smoothie with peanut butter. I forgot what the name was at the moment. Both are delicious and filling. The staff is very friendly and they always answer all my questions. I ordered the backyard BBQ baritto. I had to wait about 8 or 10 minutes for my food. Not really a big deal. The wrap was rather bland and had a strong flax taste. Atmosphere is similar to a Panera, with more modern furniture. Not sure it's worth the $8-$14 price range for lunch. They had cups out for water, and a fountain for hot sauce, which was pretty cool. I liked also how they emphasized the protein and carb content on their menu for all of their items. Probably will not return, mostly because of the quality of the food. read more

I was seriously hoping this day would never come.Today's experience has really put my love affair with Protein Bar into question. Ever since this location opened up in my work building, I have frequented Protein Bar many times so as to try (almost) everything on their delicious menu. Much to my disappointment my chili bar-rito was half the size of the bar-itos I normally get there. I understand that it was lunch time and therefore incredibly busy, however, I do not understand how they can serve something that is so below their standards. There is nothing negative I have to say about this establishment. The food items and choices are right up any nutritionally conscious persons alley. They break down all the macro's for you as well as give you plenty of options for substitution. They are vegan friendly and even seemed to cater to the lactose intolerant. I used to get the Vegan Quinoa Chili pretty often, but stopped a while ago since they started skimping on the quinoa. I ordered it today, and now they are skimping on everything. They used to fill it to the top, and now the one I just ordered they filled below the top quarter. The juice is still fine when the machine is working, and the white bean kale is good, but again, they don't seem to follow a recipe, at times it's like they are completely different dishes, because they seem to make up how much of each ingredient to use every time it's ordered. read more

Basically, I like coming here because I know I can get an all-natural, vegan lunch for a fair price. I asked them about the ingredients in the tortillas they use for their burritos and wraps, and there is NO hydrogenated oil in them, which is hard to come by. There are a few vegan items to get here, but I find myself sticking to the Chili Quinoa Bowl, which is tasty. Also you can get Kombucha, which is rare. They have GREAT smoothies. We loved the Pesto Chicken Bowl and it was so fresh and tasty. A tad dry but still very good. The chicken chili needs a boost of texture and toppings. A little too tomatoey with not much kick to it. It was a little artificial tasting, but I assume there must have been artificial sweetener in the protein powder. Probably should have asked about that before ordering, so probably my own fault! Stopped in for a quick, healthy dinner while staying at the Renaissance hotel (attached). Ordered the Chicken & Guac wrap and a small BGT (smoothie). Both were delicious. Honestly. The wrap is pretty big and would be a good meal, especially lunch, by itself. The items I tried are not low-cal, but healthy, fresh, and very tasty. Staff was friendly & quick. They walked me through the menu and gave me many good suggestions. I will definitely try again when in the area on dining solo. read more

Veggie Barritos(wraps) are pretty filing. Most of the wraps and salads come pre mixed with dressing, however they're extremely stingy with it. The salads are especially dry. They charge for "extra" dressing even though you're just asking for an appropriate amount. Four stars if it weren't for the dressing shortage. read more

After having my favorite juice GREENBERRY quite a few times at Protein Bar, today let me just say it was not green. It was red. So the employer proceeds to tell me that everyone makes it slightly different but that they all follow the recipe. That makes no sense. I'll give them another try. I was looking for information about juice cleanses but at absolute minimum beet juice. (why's this so hard to find? I know I am not the only person in the world ho wants to drink beets.) The kid behind the counter didn't even know what I was talking about for the first thing, but they do have a few fresh fruit/vegetable juices on the menu, including beet! The Beet Box sounded perfect, except it didn't have any kale in it. Oh, but all you have to do is ask and he'll add it for you! The menuboard indicates that the juices are not extracted until you order them, and may take 10-15 minutes to make. I planned on waiting that long, but in fewer than five minutes I was sipping a delicious, fresh and healthy-tasting juice, so blood-red that I pretended it was True Blood just for my own shits and giggles. I makes juices at home, but I have a high-powered blender, not an extractor. So it was a little bit (only marginally) disappointing to drink a juice without any thickness or pulp. But it didn't make that much of a difference--I didn't eat anything, but I wasn't hungry for hours. Definitely. DEFINITELY. Coming back for more juices. I walked in on a gray day after spending a great morning working out and museum hopping. I wanted a healthy bite before heading home, and decided to drop in. I got a pink lady apple kombucha, protein cookies with white chocolate chips, and the buffalo bar-rito, the last two on recommendation from the stellar cashier, Jamye (name on my receipt). The food was delicious, but what really stood out for me was the service. She was joyful and funny, and genuinely asked how my day was going. I have to say, walking in to this place really put the cherry on top of an awesome day I had, mostly due to the cashier. People have a tendency to post more enthusiastically when they have a negative experience, but customer service is something that should definitely be praised, as it can be what brings people back. I like protein bar in general but this location is wildly inconsistent in its quality. I'm ok with spending $7 on a protein shake a few times a week but not when it's all ice, ingredients are forgotten, or it is fully blended. This happens almost every time I go. I got the peanut butter shake last week, and was really upset that not only was it completely watered down by excessive ice but there was no banana in it at all. It is with great sadness that I had to sign up on Yelp to write this review. Unfortunately, the service and performance at this Protein Bar location continues to get worse and worse. At this point, I am now an ex-customer ... which will certainly help the long lines (even at 2:30pm), at the expense of my diet and desire for high-quality food. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, the food is expensive. As such, it is not too much to ask for both great food and great service. Today, which was the final straw, I was told that it would take over 15 minutes to get juice. When I declined, the cashier was thrilled (and called out) that he had talked me out of it. It must be great for the employees when the customers cannot spend their $15. The salad I did order never came out. The person in charge of the orders asked for my number and a salad arrived a few minutes later. Upon returning to my office, however, I discovered that the salad was not mine at all since I had ordered it vegan. I had to go back and the salad was made good. All in all, a 45 minute experience to eat. If this was the first problem, I would not be writing. Unfortunately, while actively appealing to vegetarians, vegans and gluten-free diets, the sheer volume of orders must create a nightmare of operational issues that make it difficult to fulfill all of them correctly. Last week, a cashier argued with me, when making my salad vegan that the vegan options were "extras" and that my salad would now be $13. She was wrong ... but I really needed a good experience today. That's it. I know they're trying their best, but I shouldn't have to be aggravated when spending $13 to $17 for lunch! read more

The burrito I had at protein bar was definitely the healthiest burrito I've ever had. It wasn't huge, but it was actually very filling. It was mostly just quinoa and chicken with a little bit of sauce which is fine with me. They aren't the best tasting burritos, but that's mostly because they aren't loaded up with fats and salt.
