This place is great! Just finished a CrossFit workout at Resolution CrossFit and needed a good recovery and protein drink but didn't have time to make one at home. Stopped by this place which is super close to my house and picked up a mint chip protein shake. It was really good! Glad to have found this convenient spot with the staff was super friendly. They even gave me a sample of their coffee protein shake. The only thing that knocked it down a notch (well, aside from it being pricey) was the smell. Delicious! We heard about the protein lab while checking out Hotworx in fullerton and got a sample of the warrior protein shake. It was soooooooo good that we placed an order and went straight there when we left. The Warrior was $7.50 for a regular and $9.50 for a large. The GOAT was the same price. Well today was the day that I finally got to go and let me just say that it was worth the 45 minute drive. Let's start off with customer service, as soon as I walked through the door I was greeted with smiles and enthusiasm regarding my smoothie order. There's nothing like interacting with people who genuinely care about what they do and put out the energy they want to receive. Also, the team at Protein Lab were a couple of teenagers! This made their professionalism even much more impressive! Next for my smoothie, I had a complicated order where I needed to make changes and substitutions, and the Protein Lab team treated me with grace, care, and respect. Quality and consistency of the açaí was excellent and a large is LARGE. I wasn't paying attention to the containers displayed so I was shook by the size of the container. Today our experience with all the workers - they were attentive and personable, good eye contact and response regardless of gender (per other reviews). The girl making the smoothies is rude... Huffing and puffing slamming things around. She had an attitude about the protein. I asked if they have something besides whey the guy at the register said yes a plant protein. I asked which one? I have a very sensitive system. No grains. No cereal. As he walked over to look at brand I said oh you do have a collagen protein. I'll take that. She yells it's not protein it's collagen. He looked at the label and says yeah there 18 grams of protein. The brand is literally called Vital Proteins! Because it's not a meat head whey protein doesn't not make it protein. I asked specifically for no cereal in my smoothie (who wants processed food in a smoothie anyway!) I know she put it in there because I can taste it even tho she says she didn't. Either wrong size, missing ingredients and finding a hair! These errors have required me to request refunds.. Very disappointed with the constant mix ups. My favorites are the acai bowl and warrior shake, but can't wait to try everything else. The place was packed, with support from vendors from every gym in the area to Trader Joe's. While there was a line, the wait was not bad and the people working were very efficient. They are part of five stars which is cool too if you are a regular so you can earn points. Protein lab is hands down okay. Service is great but their consistency is terrible. About 3 months ago every-time I went the amount of everything in my Newport bowl was consistent. It was great always had enough granola,fruit,etc... but for the last month and a half nothing has been consistent. ESPECIALLY THE TARO CHIA PUDDING. My favorite topping to get is never the same. Sometimes they run out and give me regular and sometimes they say it's taro but it doesn't taste like it. I used to love coming here because of the pudding, now I barely come here because I don't want to be disappointed. Today I went and ordered two mini sized cups filled with taro pudding. I was so hungry today and was craving something fruity with protein and healthy. I yelped smoothie and this place popped up. Turns out it's a new hot spot that just opened! Actually their grand opening is coming up Jan 7, 2017! (12-5pm I believe?)The workers were so sweet and welcoming. They were very accommodating to my diet restrictions and I was so amazed at how many options/substitutions they had available! I got the monster bowl which is normally soy milk, peanut butter, pitaya (dragon fruit), and some other stuff as the base and the toppings come with coconut, banana, granola, and agave. I got almond milk and almond butter instead since milk and peanut butter causes inflammation in me. I got gluten free granola. And I passed on the coconut cause I just don't enjoy it and I passed on the agave too. Although it's one of the better options, as it is a natural sweetener, I felt the monster bowl was just full of flavor without it! :) I'm vegan too so it helps that they have so many options with protein. This bowl filled me up! I noticed they had sandwiches too. I was on such a time crunch I didn't have time to explore anything else. Oh! Just a note that if you plug in the address onto your GPS, like I did, to find the spot you'll find yourself in the right plaza but on the wrong side of it. I ended up near Albertsons! I used the directions on Yelp and it brought me towards petsmart side of the parking lot and there it was. The staff,as I mentioned earlier, were so welcoming. They were telling me about a pull up challenge for a free goodie but I didn't have time to hear all of it or take the challenge so I told them I'll be back next time. I order door dash & grub hub from this location all the time, love the product. After today u guys lost a faithful customer. I get so aggravated when the employees doesn't take pride in their work. I ordered a door dash Friday September 30 2022 around 6:00-6:30pm. I'm tired of receiving my order with the bag not fully secured with security tape or staples. Also, my bowl lid not having tape on it so when I receive my order the lids falling off with peanut butter everywhere, and my bag isn't secure, so a random door dash driver can put anything into my fucking bowl that I pay $20 to have delivered to me is very frustrating and lazy on the workers. When u have door dash or grub hub orders secure the damn bag with staples or security tape and seal the bowl to the customer. Lazy ass workers.
