Where do I start, I called 2 hours ahead for a 7:15 appt for 2 Pedi and a fill. We arrived a little late but they were only able fit on Pedi and one Manicure in. Of course I am able to accomodate. I didn't get into the pedicure seat until 7:45 and they close at 8. I'm nice enough just to get a basic because we arrived late and they're closing soon. The water was basically cold, the way the whole pedicure was switched around the way this girl was doing it. She basically painted my nails and then did the massage it's like you don't buff after you polish a car. They're nice people, just need to have a more structured and cleaner looking environment (the floors were gross looking). read more

I came in to get a gel pedicure today. Hesitant because I've been here before and have had really bad experiences but I just thought it's fine there's probably new people working and I'm sure not everyone is faulty. I got a gel pedicure and picked a light color out, two coats in I realized it was too light for what I wanted to I asked if the third coat I could get a pale pink to just give me more color. Yes I picked this color not blaming anyone. I looked at three different nail polishes and all three were bright bubble gum pink in comparison to the regular polish swatches. I'm confused as to why the colors are not the same, the color different shouldn't be that drastic from gel to regular polish. My nail tech Nina was sweet and helpful and brought me a bunch to look at and I felt bad for even asking when I shouldn't because I'm paying for this. The girl next to her proceeded with attitude saying "we don't know why it's different color we don't make the colors". I understand you don't make the colors lol the point wasn't in that, you could've just found me the color I asked for and helped your coworker. To me a lack of customer service and attitude is sad. You could improve your business by getting better polish and taking better quality of your stuff, the reason your polish is changing colors is because you don't close it all the way and air gets into it. Every gel container has spillage and leaking polish from it. It's just upsetting that there are salons like this that lake professionalism, there is a reason they have signs all around "DISCOUNT". A thriving salon doesn't need to say they are having non stop discounts for over a year. read more

I love my mani pedi from this place. They work really fast but their quality is still great. They were friendly and answered my questions. I highly recommend this place. I got a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. Even with this basic pedicure, I still got a nice massage, wax, and a nice scrub down. I'm very satisfied with how my nails turned out. read more

I scheduled my appointment, got there on time and still waited for half an hour before I was put in the pedicure chair! Got some dude ( not Billy) for my pedicure which was mediocre at best! Felt like the beauty school pedicure you get from first year students! Luckily Lily N took over! For the $31 they are charging for a pedicure( there are other rates I chose the $31 option) I was not impressed! However very thankful that they are open and was able to get me in. It's been three months and still counting for my normal salon to open!! The establishment is busy! Not sure if it's due to COVID -19 and limited locations are open. Or if it's the location! It's a bit hidden ( next to the RoundTable ) in the shopping center. As a first timer.. I didn't find it as easy. Getting there yes! But once in the shopping center.. drove around a bit. Once inside it's pretty jammed. Small waiting area, I think seven pedicure chairs on one side, stations for nails across from the pedicure chairs. It can feel cramped if you're there during a busy peak time like I was. The nail polish options need to be thinned out. Lots of old clumpy polishes. They are on the high end for pricing and the service is just okay! Would I go back yeah! But only because of limited locations open and I'm a girlie girlie who loves her toes out and nails done! read more

I am not impressed with the communication of this establishment. After seeing numerous pictures of acrylic nails of various lengths and designs, I had requested an acrylic fill. Instead of saying that the salon was booked for the week, I was told they do not provide the service (an obvious false statement). Only after wasting five minutes of my time reaching for answers was I told that they were booked for the week and that was why they would not take my request. I'm sure the artists here are very talented, however their customer service is extremely disappointing. Was looking for a new regular salon, and this place will not be it. read more

We've been to other places, but ProTop has been consistently good, her nails always come out nice and the price is not as steep as other Sacramento-area salons we've tried. The salon is clean and the techs are friendly. The only real downside is that they are always busy and depending on what kind of design you choose, they can take a really long time to finish. Best. Experience. Ever. I don't know why I honestly kept myself from searching for something better. The place I was regularly going to before this was a nightmare, but because they were cheap and 10 minutes away, I became attached to an abusive relationship. But this review isn't for that place, it's for this one. SO. Let me say I had the cutest and relatable technician ever. I WISH I caught her name but she's young, cute, and wears glasses. Sweetest thing. She was so gentle and kept asking if I liked what she was doing or if she was hurting me. SUPER CONSIDERATE. I decided to get a gel mani for the first time ever. French for my hands and a nice shiny polish for my toes cause why not? She was SO PRECISE with the French it was unbelievable. I've never had such a precise French, ever. My hands were even shaking from some coffee I had earlier and she was a pro at those curves. Turned out beautiful. Wasn't slow either! She whipped both hands out in good time! I got both basic packages for mani and pedi and one thing that I loved is that she went BEYOND the definition of "basic". Her massages were thorough and relaxing and she spent time really getting my calluses which was a God send cause I get bad ones. She was amazing even though she had pretty much been finishing a 12 hour shift, she didn't get lazy or half assed, wonderful. One of her coworkers helped her out at the end as she got a rush of customers before closing (typical) and painted my toes for me. She did a wonderful job as well, whipped both of my feet out in good time. All in all, this was the best experience I ever had. Friendly, took care of me, listened to my concerns. Really went the full package. I will DEFINITELY be back in the future despite the 30 minute drive. Plus, for a gel mani and pedi, it wasn't expensive at all. At least not as expensive as my past hack jobs at other places that WEREN'T gel. I've been to ProTop a couple of times now, for both manicures (dip & gel) and pedicures. I've liked it enough to go back and previously probably would've given 4 stars. They do a good job, but not the best nail salon I've ever been to. Services aren't the quickest but results are good. Earlier this week I went in to get my dip removed & gel put on instead. I was seated at the last chair and things were friendly with my nail tech until I asked her to make adjustments. Nothing crazy, just additional cuticle cutting & re-shaping. She acted like it was a huge inconvenience for her to have to do these things. On top of that, she made me feel like I didn't know how to get my nails done when the gel wasn't cooperating. She would get out of her chair and rudely check that I was putting my hands into the UV light properly. I won't be going back after this poor customer service. read more

I have been coming here for a little while now and they do a good job on my nails. I only get gel manicures and pedicures. The only thing I have to say is they rush you when they start getting busy which is 95% of the time, they start worrying about getting everyone out of there instead of on the service. I get a manicure because I want the full service of my nails which includes a little massage or hands/arms and they hardly even give you a little rub with a tad bit of lotion. So that's the only downfall, pay a little bit more time to your customers for the whole service. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars! I came in on Friday 15th to do my nails & a pedicure. I spent some time on yelp to pick the place that looked like they did the best job. I saw this place had a lot of pictures on yelp so I scrolled down & picked one of "their" designs. I walk in & told them what I wanted done, the guy started on the pedicure, as usual pushed for gel nail polish as all of these places do. Least to say I was not satisfied with the pedicure. After he was done I showed him the photo of what I wanted... he said he couldn't do it. Hmm talk about false advertising! I said "could you at least do it without the design maybe just with the charms?" He said they didn't have the charms haha at this point I was like "ok then just do it the same color as in the picture then. Just a matte color like it shows here & no design." Once he was done with the nails & it was time for the color he brought me some gel colors & showed me a glittery one I said "No I don't want gel and I don't want that color I want it just like in this photo." He said "ok"... I literally showed him the photo like 5 times. I also let him know before he started if one hour was enough time since I had an appointment. He said it would be 30-45min. Needless to say I was late to my appointment, he did not give me the look I wanted or even the color! It was my anniversary dammit! All I wanted was to have pretty nails!! but instead I got the worst nail job I have ever had! I noticed two other girls next to me came in showing them a photo of what they wanted after me & they weren't able to deliver either! It really makes me wonder if they are posting photos that aren't from their work!? Neither ladies looked like they got what they were anticipating. Oh and did I mention that he left a ton of bubbles on my nails!! The surface of the nails is bumpy! It should be smooth! Not only that but they started to lift the very next day! My hair keeps getting stuck on my nails. Something that should not start happening until it's time for your next appointment! I am extremely disappointed! I left that place so angry! They should not have even of charged me for this crappy job! I will need to go elsewhere to get them redone! As far as the pedicure, he did not apply a clear coat on top as most places always do! Therefore my pedi is super dull! He also applied very little nail polish, it looks so uneven, as well as my nails, he did not file them to make them even. I could hav done a much nicer job at home! Thank's for wasting my valuable time! I will never be coming back here again & you guys need to take down the fake photos you are using if you can't do it for your clients then it is not your work! read more

I have been coming to this nail salon since it opened years ago. I called ahead to make an appointment so I wouldn't have much of a wait if any at all. When I got there no one said hello and I sat down to wait. After 15 minutes someone asked what I wanted and I said gel mani & pedi. I showed the bottom picture and asked if the could do this for me, and they said yes! I normally watch the entire mani from start to finish but it had been a super long week and I just wanted to relax. I put in my ear pods and watched a movie on my phone. When the guy was done I looked down and said this isn't what I asked for, he called a girl over and said they can't do what I asked since I didn't use dip powder. I told her that I have had this done once before and that wasn't true. Then she told me my nails where to short, I told het they were longer when I came in but since then they have been cut down. I was so frustrated that I no longer wanted to pedi but just wanted a color change. The woman who did this for me didn't even take off all the bright blue I previously had my toed painted in off, so now I'm walking around with a crappie red toes with a blue hue around my cuticles and sides of toes. Needless to say I am disappointed in the service I recieved at Protop Nails. There weren't even that many people in the store so it's not like they were slammed or anything!
