I came here for dinner with two co-workers. For $15 that includes tax and tip, I enjoyed a plate of pad see ewe with beef. I have to say that it was one of the best pad see ewe I ever had. Broad noodle was thin and chewy and soaked with rich soy flavor. Restaurant is quite small. Maybe there were only five tables total. We ordered the Tom zaab soup, chicken Thai fried rice, fish cakes and pad Thai, all of which turned out to be delicious (especially with the homemade spice blend that they will give you upon asking). We have been to Thailand many times and Proud Thai is definitely on par with the food we've had there. After we moved out of NYC, we missed being able to get good Thai food locally. Proud Thai is one of our local favorite restaurants that we frequently return to. Their service is spot on. The owners are very friendly and polite. The food is always consistent made. One good part is they asked for feedback to make the dishes even better. I really like the Duck and Chicken Pad Gra Pow. My son loves the Massamam Curry and Lard Na noodle dish. The portion of the whole red snapper fried fish with mango salsa on the side has always been on the generous side. I find the pricing comparable to other local Thai restaurants in Gillette, Summit, Westfield, Millburn, Short Hills, Warren, etc. read more

The staff was very patient and accommodating. The restaurant is intimate and spotlessly clean. The food was terrific. I had the chive dumpling appetizer which was crispy and served with a delectable dipping sauce. My entree was a roast duck breast in a ginger sauce suggested by the owner, Tora, since I couldn't have anything spicy. Tora checked with us often. This one of the best Thai restaurants I've experienced in a very long time. I had a ginger salmon dish that was a little sweet and cripsy and simply amazing. The fried ice cream dish was spectacular. If could give it six stars I would. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The dining room is on the small side but has a nice feel to and didn't feel too cramped. Delicious Thai food. The owner is very friendly and eager to provide good service. My fave dish is Tiger Cried, which is grilled seasoned beef served with a slightly spicy and tangy (vinegary?) sauce. Apparently the Tiger Cried because the humans started taking away its food (the beef) to make this dish - anyhow that's the explanation the owner gave me. Their boat noodle special is also superb - very rich and well seasoned. It's off menu but every time I've asked for it, they have it. Delicious! My husband and I have had delivery from there three times over the past month and have loved the food and service each time. The wide noodles with Chinese broccoli and black soy sauce are delicious! My husband said the calamari was excellent. The mango sticky rice was deeee-lish!!! The delivery was well under and hour even on a Friday night (which is quick for this area it seems rare) and the drivers are all very polite and nice. They also use the Beyond Menu app so ordering is super easy and accurate. We plan on continuing to patronize Proud Thai into the future and are glad they came to town!! read more

I love Proud Thai. Its a small, cute and convenient restaurant. Ive sat down to eat a handful of times and get takeout from very frequently and am usually very satisfied. I took a star away because sometimes they don't put silverware in the bag which is very annoying when you're ready to dig in and discover :( Also because the place is so small, Ive been seated right next to the kitchen during lunch and started sweating because it was so hot lol... not cute. my first time ordering from here. i ordered 2 lunch specials. the small spring rolls were great. i found the thai salad dressing watery but good portion size snd fresh lettuce/ carrots and flavor okay. the pad thai beef barely had any beef so that was disappointing, but the flavor and portion size was good. the pad see ew chicken was all around good. i will try to order again to see if the dressing and beef portion was a fluke. ordering, packaging and curbside pickup was excellent. read more

Just had Thai from this place. The mix of colors and flavors and tastes was awesome. Food was not a disappointment. Everything tasted great! I ordered some "salads" with the lime chile dressing. It was really tasty. The steak was cooked perfectly in the meat dishes. I would stay away from the satay chicken (a little too well done and doesn't do the rest of this restaurants dishes the justice it deserves). All good. I would recommend it. My wife and I luckily found this gem. We were hungry and landed here and what can I say except that the people are so friendly and the food was so good that I had to share my experience. They have a small dining area but they have a large array of flavors that made our mouths water and sing. They create traditional dishes as well as some seafood options I want to try on my next visit to this wonderful restaurant. I normally go for a red curry but the noodles hit the spot. Perfect amount of spice and the noodles were cooked to perfection!
