Finally got to try Provisions for the first time today and it was a great experience! We shared the deviled eggs (yum!) and I got the apple salad. Would love to be able to review the food but couldn't even get a table cleaned to sit at. More tables vacant than occupied but covered in the prior patrons dirty plates and glasses. Was told a table would be cleaned for us but after awhile of watching the employees briskly walk around with no obvious purpose we left. The buser was sure to collect the tips off the table but didn't bother to actually bus it. Upon looking around folks who did have a table appeared to have been waiting awhile for anyone ti take their order. read more

I used to love this place. I loved the spicy garlic hamburger used to order it all the time but the last 3 times it hasn't been very good. I've tried a few other things on the menu and I feel like it's just for the price. They do have certain drinks there that I really like but not everyone makes them the same so I need to get the right bartender or else they taste nasty. read more

Maybe it was an off day, because this place really seems awesome. But I'd really been looking forward to the deviled eggs and the salmons salad. The eggs were pretty good, albeit salty. My friend and I both got the salad; and the rice was hard and dry, the salmon was really salty with seasoning, and the overall flavors aren't what I had expected based on the description. Seriously salty, and I like salt, to an extent. Also, I came in as a first timer around 2pm, and stood there for a couple minutes not knowing whether or not to seat myself, or if I'd be sat. A gal (who I later realized was serving alone), finally came up and told me I could pick a table. She was nice, and after a few minutes she brought me water and a menu, but didn't ask if I needed anything. After about 15 minutes she asked if I wanted anything to drink, I asked for a coke and an order of deviled eggs, as I had a guest joining me, (literally, 2 guys came in, had 2 drinks at the bar each, paid and left before I was talked to again and my drink brought to me!!). Don't get me wrong, she had a lot going on, she was really nice and my food came out quick, but if she would have had help, I could have had speedier service. Overall, I'd try it again, maybe an evening shift when they are busy and staffed, and not a middle of the afternoon lunch date. Food was middle of the road. Absolutely nothing I would go back for. The staff look longingly out the window like they want to be anywhere else. Tables are way too close together. The place is nice and clean. With how hard things are getting I wont risk spending money here anytime soon. Hopefully they can get something on the menu that sets them apart. read more

The Noise level is terrible. The staff say seat yourself then disappear no menu no hosting no water. Food served on worn out cutting boards ( not sanitary) to me. Drinks are expensive and not great. 19 bucks for a Greasy Cheese burger. Many loud drunk patrons. They had a great Chef but he's gone . Third time's a disaster. I finally get my husband to eat a little more upscale (i. e. Something other than sandwiches) and we found this lovely place downtown. We ate there before it was Provisions as well which was so so. Anyhow, our 3rd visit to Provisions and hubby tried something different. The bourbon burger with BBQ sauce on the side. The waitress says she spilled BBQ sauce on the burger but the chef cleaned it up before bringing it to the table. 1/4 of the way through it he tells me it smells funny. Now I have horrible smell lately and don't notice anything odd other than it's well done vs medium as requested. He doesn't want to continue eating it. Luckily we ate a lot of tater tots for an appetizer. A few hours later at home and he's sicker than a dog. The "specially sourced" beef was bad or they "cleaned up" the burger with something that contaminated it. We'll go back but I'm sure he'll stick to his regular pulled pork sandwich. The ambia and historic setting is pretty neat. The service wasn't great, we had to keep getting up from our table to ask for things at the bar (sugar, spoon, napkins). The food was meh, soggy hash browns, untoasted English muffin, cold biscuits & gravy. Glad we tried it but probably won't return. read more

I'll give Provisions some kudos on the food, and the full bar. Even the lovely outdoor sitting area. Service (3 times) was perfunctory. The ambience overall is nice and I really wanted our visits to feel and be special. It just fell flat. Hard to put into words. Overall, I would say give them a try, just don't have high expectations. ---I wish they would print out fresh menus. I don't appreciate getting a menu with food stains and who knows what else on the paper. It seems to me to be a once-a-week no brainer. ---The bartender (the same person on 3 visits) has a great rapport with his customers. ---Good ambience. But it doesn't overcome the lackluster service. ---Great location. VERY convenient FREE parking. You can stroll downtown and visit lots of shops with interesting items. ---Electronic Vehicle charging in the FREE parking lot across the street from the restaurant. read more

The food was delicious, the service was good with a nice atmosphere. When the bill came there was an extra charge of under $2. I think it said it was a Restaurant charge. The prices are already high here so I don't understand why nor can anyone explain it to me to make sense. I know it wasn't much, but I'm sick of ALL the extra charges since COVID. I will always subtract the extra amount from the tip. I explained to the lady that brought our food and drinks to the table why I did it. She said other customers were complaining about it and doing the same thing. She will let the owner know what everyone's saying. read more

We traveled all the way to Miami and were excited to try Cubanos in Little Havana, but all we could think about once we got there and found some was how much we missed the Cubanos from Provisions back home. Only one star because the bartender was so sweet. This was our 2nd try. First try at 5pm on a Friday they were out of brisket (which was a good portion of the menu). Half of us had decent meals and the other half had no flavor. It was within the first 2 weeks of being open so we said we'd try again. Well it's been a couple months so we tried again. We absolutely will not be back. How do you run out of 4 of your 5 apps by 6 pm on a Friday? An hour and a half waiting for dinner. We only got drinks because we went to the bar and got them. Our waitress was a snot. We gave up and canceled our order after 90 minutes. There are problems from front of the house to the back. read more

On a recent visit to Oroville I attended a dinner at Provisions with ten friends. The service, food and ambiance were great. Everyone at our table throughly enjoyed their food. I had the Rubin sandwich, it was perfect. I ordered a Grey Goose martini, dry, and chilled with a film of thin ice on the surface. The bartender came to the table to see if I liked the drink. I told her it was perfect. She smiled and told me her hand was frozen after she was done shaking it. Our waitress was efficient and got every order right. All in all it was a wonderful evening. Good food, good beverages and good friends. I will eat there again when I go back to Oroville. read more

Oh my, 22 bucks for brunch lunch little burger with fries. It was tasty enough but I have a difficult time dropping 22 bucks for a teenie weenie burger and fries, no drink. Think I will stick to my home made 5 buck a pd local Bamford beef finished with olive oil and my own home made organic brioche buns and organic baked potato fries for a fraction of the cost. I've eaten here quite a few times now. I will say, my experiences have gotten better each time. Our first few experiences left me unsure about ever wanting to return due to the way items were cooked. But in the last year I've been a few times and the flavors have been spot on and the meats were appropriately cooked and delicious. New cooks or new menu, I'm not sure, but the food is excellent. Additionally I tried a season cocktail the last time I went and it was so delicious. The service is always pleasant. Servers are always friendly and helpful. Sometimes it's a little slow because management didn't staff appropriately and one waitress is handling the entire full patio but even still, I've watched the waitress bust their bottom to provide excellent service. The inside has a bar and high top tables. The outside patio is just my favorite. It's tucked in the back but open air and unique. I love sitting out there and just enjoying the fresh air during our warmer months. Additionally, the patio is dog friendly. Go check it out, you won't be disappointed. read more

The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich was great. Fries crispy and well seasoned. Great ambience - a late 1800's building never loses its appeal. Nice menu selection. Plenty of savory choices! Couldn't sample from the specialty cocktail menu, but I will go back for that. Lots of seating - indoor and out. It's just a cool restaurant and bar! read more

I'd like to recommend Provisions Restaurant in downtown Oroville. We had dinner there last night with a group of 11. Everything was excellent. It was easy to make and change the reservation. When we walked in, they had a table set and ready for us in a nice spot. The staff were very welcoming and also efficient with our large group. Good job! The menu had a good variety to select from. The food was outstanding and was served in a timely manner. Everyone enjoyed their meals, tasty and delicious! A great evening at Provisions! read more

Wasn't able to get into Provisions to give them a try until a few weeks ago, have returned twice more. Have tried two of their burgers, cooked just right, and yummy. Really enjoyed the chicken masala when I went for dinner, delicious! Not surprised since the chef is Joe, of the late, great Joe's Lunch to Go food truck. My wife and our friends who joined us, and enjoyed their meals too. The Mojitos from the bar were refreshing, and hit the spot. Wine list is a little limited, but they offer two decent Cabernets, at a fair price. The service was a little disjointed, but friendly. I think they were shorthanded, so not too concerned. Also had a fine local band playing, so the place was busy. Give them a try. read more

We dropped in for a quick bite before a State Theater concert. We sat down at the bar and were treated so well. I had yummy fresh oysters and Brussels sprouts. My husband enjoyed the Cali burger. Once again we were bored of the food choices in Oroville. Its a vast wasteland of bad service, completely overpriced menus and more bad service. First off, the server was barley attentive enough to acknowledge us after 10 minutes after seating ourselves. She was confused from the git go. Not sure why. There were hardly any people in the place. We started off by ordering The big ticket salmon dish they had and a few small menu items. It took 30 minutes for the food to arrive at the table and another 15 minutes for the salmon dish to arrive. Turns out that it was the wrong plate from another table, so a second server came over with a side of bland potatoes and tried to substitute it for the wrong side. The salmon filet was smaller than a deck of cards and the potatoes were tasteless and looked like baby food slapped on a plate. The server never brought over napkins, silverware or refills of basic water. We had to go pick up those items ourselves at the waiter station. While at the station, our server was busy washing bar glasses for no apparent reason. She seemed careless that I was helping myself to the waiter station. Needless to say.....This is the final time we give this place a second chance. A dirty Carl's Jr could give better service. Thanks, but no thanks read more
