Wow wow wow! We stumbled upon this place on route to Carmel, because our normal favourite sandwich spot appeared to be closed on the 4th. Getting here is a mixture of twists and turns, and you will question why you are in a residential area, but trust the reviews..keep going. This is a very laid back, unassuming, small place that is just brimming with character. Martin was so sweet, giving us samples of yummy soup and chicken and telling Khadija to grab as free ice cream. The trip tip sandwiches were the best I've ever had, and after trying the soup and chicken, we bought food to go. Every time we come anywhere close, we are coming here! You should too! Ps. Really good sandwich. My husband has been babbling about it all day. We stopped in on our way past today. Ironically I sent him a pick of their "best bbq sign" you can see from 101 a few years ago. BBQ sauce was really good. I do wish they still had the turkey, they've simplified the menu. I love the smoked turkey sandwich at Los Gatos Meats so I was really looking forward to that today. Without his dedication to us, his family, we would not be able to experience all these wonderful establishments that all you Yelpers rave about! Ok, so wow! I was able to get some meat, yoy! On a Friday afternoon no less! He ran out of sausage but I started on the ribs and got full on the ribs and I completely forgot about the sausages! The ribs were delicious, all the meat I got for my fam was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated. Never in a million years, well not a million years but never would I think chili freetos would be so delicious on a tri-tip sandwich, but it is and my family wouldn't shut the hell up about it! We came here at the behest of one of our friends and it was such a great choice. First of all, Mr. Martin is one of the kindest, most upbeat people I've met in a long time. You can tell that he puts a lot of love into his craft and really cares about his customers. We ordered way too much food, but it was so delicious!! We got a whole rack of ribs, a tri-tip sandwich, and some cornbread. The ribs were really good and had a great flavor. We're from the South, so we know good bbq and Mr. Martin didn't disappoint. That tri-tip sandwich though...omg it was so good. The meat itself was delicious and then the toppings with the hot Fritos were the perfect touch with the crusty bread. The cornbread is light, fluffy, and heavenly. Tastes like it has honey in it. I would go back just for that. Overall, I would definitely make the drive again to eat here. Delicious food, good selection of snacks and drinks in the market, and Mr. Martin is seriously one of the nicest people I have ever met. 100/10. The half rack ribs were gigantic and smoky! The most surprising part was the salad and potatoes under those ribs. The salads were fresh and complex in flavor and texture.
