Our party of 4 arrived early so we made our way over to Cedar Room for a few drinks to get the party started and kill some time. This definitely deserves bonus points for the convenience aspect. Food & an assortment of drinks are available within a few steps. Yaaasssssss!! If you are interested in the typical theater treats, the concession stand carries popcorn, candies, sodas, and icees. Be advised that the business doesn't carry kettle corn even though it is listed on the menu [Boooo!!!] and they do not offer trays so come with extra hands if you order the way we do. Doors opened up about 15-20 minutes prior to showtime and that provided us with more than enough time to place our order for additional items. Seats were comfy, clean, and spacious. Would you like to see a film at a local cinema? One of the finest establishments in Mr. Silicon's Valley lies at the Pruneyard property in Campbell of California. This theatre was recently renovated but curiously, the proprietor neglected to update the facade - how does one judge the new book with the old cover? Why also has the men's water closet not been upgraded as well? The Lads' loo remains up the tall flight of stairs, and while clean, these facilities remain most unpleasant and historical in appearance. This Valley has long been due for a cinema luxurious enough for Her Majesty herself. Even commoners may reserve specific seating, and the finest of cuisines are selectively available for service at one's own reclining chair. Far be it from me, however, to wonder why milkshakes are not served. To paraphrase the great American poet and social critic, Kelis - a milkshake brings the customers to the cinema. This is one of the rare dine-in theaters in the area, and from my experience, they do it well. I've been here plenty of times pre- and post-covid. The food menu changes periodically, but the food is always good, served hot, generous portions, and good seasoning and flavors. During my most recent visit, I got the chicken strips with fries. The chicken was juicy, lightly battered and crispy on the outside, and the fries were giant wedges, seasoned and golden on the outside, warm and fluffy on the inside. The servers are good to not interrupt the movie while doing their job (they swipe your credit card when you order, then you press a button at the front of your seat each time you need food/drink service, then they present a bill toward the end of the movie). Also, you will need to wait for light from the movie screen if you need to "see" your food while you eat, so if you're watching a dark movie, good luck, lol. This theater has a great ambiance, clean and modern, lots of seating outside, an attached bar (Cedar Room), and plenty of restaurants surrounding the theater if you prefer to eat before/after the movie. Inside each auditorium, they have reclining seats with plenty of leg room, and as of July 2021, they block off space between parties for social distancing (after you reserve your seat online, the seats directly next to you become unavailable). There's lots of free parking, but the lot gets pretty crowded on the weekends, so you may have to park a little further away (there's also a garage/covered parking in the back of the lot, but it's small)... also lots of one-way streets and roundabouts, so you may go in circles looking for parking :P Definitely a great place for date night! read more

Who doesn't love a movie & a meal, all at the same time? After chillin at the Cedar Room, waiting for our movie show time to start at Pruneyard Cinemas, my partner and I had drinks & a snack. After going into the theatre for our movie, we were able to order dinner using the QR code at our seat. The wait was a little long, but the food was worth it. I didn't get a photo of our food (his burger, my chicken strips) since the movie had already started. We definitely are coming back for another date night here -- what's not to love! read more

Pruneyard Cinemas is our best-kept secret for the movies! When we first went here, it had a pretty bougie feel but we liked it. It was nice to get away from the sticky Century/AMC floors from popcorn butter and soda spills.. away from the kids running around/screaming. It was quiet and perfect for date nights. We like the restaurant/bar service at your seat! The chairs recline pretty far back.. a bit dangerous for me because I've fallen asleep I think twice in there haha. Their small popcorn is only $6 and already waaaay more than what you get at other theaters = a plus!! However! The most recent time we went (to watch Creed II), the crowd is more diverse now... meaning more people know more about this theater. I mean, good for them, but I hope it doesnt turn into the other (crowded/dirty) theaters. I guess I just liked the quiet and peaceful of it all when we first discovered it. For a movie theatre- this is as good as it gets! The remodel of Pruneyard Cinemas really make the movie experience so much more than just a regular theatre. I ordered tickets online. A weekday night ticket was $13.50 (ouch!) but this is a pretty standard price for theaters in the bay area. When I came in I scanned a QR code and the tickets printed. There was a screen showing all the movies playing, what theatre they were in, and what the status of the film was. That screen allowed us to know right when theatre doors were open. Nobody checked out ticket when going into the theatre. I'm guessing due to reserved seating there's a little more trust? Seats were very spacious and reclined. When you sit down there's a menu on your table with a variety of meal and drink choices. One thing I found particularly impressive was that there was a separate menu brochure on the table that had special drinks and meals created to match the theme of the movie! I thought this was a really cool way for the theatre to customize the movie going experience. I didn't order anything because we were going out to dinner but I'd love to come back. From what I understand, the waiter comes up to you and takes your order on a hand held device and brings it straight to your seat when it's ready. You also pay in your seat. Talk about convenience! If you don't know what to do after the movie, you can always go to the cedar room (inside the theaters) to grab some food or a drink. Came here to watch Avengers: Endgame during its premiere weekend. This is another one of those service/dine-in theaters with large reclining chairs. It is a small theater located at the back of the Pruneyard shopping center and it was a little hard to find at first. Unlike other theaters, you can buy your tickets on computers set up at the front of the theater when you walk in. There is also a snack bar where you can buy your own food and drinks if you decide you want to opt out of the dine-in option. Overall, I think it's a solid movie theater. It didn't stand out to me as anything special. The food and drinks also seem pricier than other theaters and the amount of servers walking back and forth became too consistent that it was bothersome during the movie. I ordered a cocktail and kettle corn and it came out to be $25! Not entirely sure if I'll come back. read more

It feels like forever since I've gone out. Yes, having a child will do that, but that's part of life. Well, Deadpool decided to open today, so we decided to go out and try this place out. First, the seats are really nice and comfy. They recline far back, so you'll be relaxing for sure. You get waiter service, so if you are coming here to eat dinner, come a little early and get your food before the film starts, as it will get dark. My only issue was that the pricing was a little high. Yes, it's theater food, so expect your wallet to scream in terror when coming here. For three drinks and some nachos, it came out to about $70. Also, they include a service charge at 20% and they still expect you to pay tip when your bill hits. No sir, that service charge is your tip! Still, it was a great experience, and would come here again in a heartbeat. Their cocktails are a bit watered down, so next time I'll probably go with a beer next time. read more

Don't come here for the last movie showing of the night. They close concessions & food early. I've never been to a movie theater where they didn't have popcorn, candy, or soda available during the entire movie. Big disappointment. Also our theater was extremely cold. Under 50 degrees cold. It was very unenjoyable. At least the one employee there had good customer service and was nice enough to offer a refund but my mother and I are never coming here again. My son asked to please go back. We begrudgingly agreed, so we could see Argyle. So thankful we did! The staff was great and the food? Well guess what! They stepped up and delivered amazing food. Their chicken strips improved a thousand times over. The fries were so tasty. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was great. The churro fries were crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. came for an 11am showing during the week, and it was decent. their chairs recline to borderline 0 degrees, and i caught myself napping for like 5 minutes- super comfy. We also did the order foods/snacks through your phone with the provided QR code and that was BS. the guy came with half of our purchase, and i ended up walking downstairs to get the rest of my order since he never came back. The guy at the counter was by himself and gave me the rest of my order, as the line started building up. After the movie ended and going on with the rest of our day, i came to fine out theres a service charge on the app that added an extra $10 to my bill despite not even getting things brought up to us and i tipped. Love the concept of this whole place! Sip on some wine or beer, munch on some food, and enjoy your movie! The seats were super comfortable for me - I almost dozed off once or twice before the movie started. They are like business-class-flight-seat-comfy. Plus, they recline! Thank goodness I was watching Avengers lol no chance to fall asleep with all crazy happening in that movie. Service was prompt and very attentive. They are also very patient with explaining things because i guess it's a lot of people's first time in this kind of theatre. The reason I minused one star; 1) utensils i got the first time were naaaaasty. Make sure you get the utensils when it's bright so you can check!! 2) food wasn't all that great for the price. But it's theatre price... so I guess ok.... I would personally recommend sticking with a wine or beer + fries. Those fries were bomb. Anyways, the total for 2 alcoholics drinks + root beer + 4 dishes came out to be about $95, which includes their already included 20% tip. Side tip; a) Online ticket ordering charges and extra $1.something service charge per ticket. Maybe that charge is avoidable if you order at the theatre. b) if you get cold easily, bring a blanket!! When they closed Camera 7 I didn't realize they would remodel and upgrade this theater. I came to see A Quiet Place here last night and was pleasantly surprised to find they have servers who will bring you food and drinks. We ordered the nachos which were delicious and came out quickly. They also expanded this place into where Boswells used to be. We ordered our drinks there and were pleased to find out that we could bring them in the theater. This was our first experience with a movie theater where not only can you reserve a luxury recliner, but have food and adult beverages delivered to the seats. I loved it! Our movie was in the intimate #6. Maybe 35-45 total seats. Walking in and sitting down, each seat has a swivel table top and menu. We were soon ordering tasty a dinner that included flatbread with nectarines and prosciutto, a barbecue sandwich and a summery salad. There is a full bar and we split a nice bottle of Pinot Noir. Best of all, when I was thinking popcorn would be nice, we pressed our seat-side order button, ordered and were munching away in under 5 minuets! We'll be back! read more

I had the best movie experience at the Pruneyards! The theatre is tucked away on the south side of the Pruneyards but it's perfect. Parking is usually tricky so either you get lucky or you park with the masses near the Main Street. As for the establishment it's a dine-in experience so come hungry. The seating is reserved, very clean and the staff are generous and helpful. Bonus there's plenty of restaurants and shops right as you walk out. Even a bar adjoined to the theatre! I love coming to this theater, mainly because you can order delicious cocktails right to your seat. Speaking of seats, they are large and very comfortable. The theaters themselves are small which I prefer so it feels almost like a private screening. Just went here last night to see The Barbarian and had a great time. There is a bar attached that has a cool atmosphere and they do tiki Thursdays. You can even take your drink from the bar into the theater. Initially when I came to the theater after renovation it was great. Great service, you would press the button on your seat and a server would come. I order a drink and food, wanted something else. No one ever came. Pressed my button and the next two chair buttons no one came. Came here to watch Crazy Rich Asians after Century Theaters was mostly full. For the SAME PRICE as Century at night ($13), you get electric reclining and cushioned sheets, a table, and a full alcohol/food menu! I'm not even talking about popcorn and pizza. I'm talking pasta, I'm talking salads, I'm talking cocktails, wine, and special Crazy Rich Themed Drinks! Holy moly I was blown away! Not only that, but they have a call button where a server comes to your chair and delivers your order to you! My friend and I ordered one of each of the special drinks and they were both really good. I got food poisoning from their establishment and I was unable to finish my film. I paid my entire bill ($70+)including the movie which I did not get to finish. I contacted them to see if it was possible to get a voucher for finishing the movie I paid for. All I wanted to do was finis this movie, if they would have allowed me to return I would have probably spent even more money. After leaving 2 voicemails on their "management " phone. I have yet to receive any call back and it's been 2 weeks. Sucks that such a cool idea for a theater does not value their customers. This has been the only theater I have been going to since they opened back up. Tragic to see that they can not provide a simple call back to let me if or if not I can return to finish this movie. First time here in Campbell. Met up why son's classmates family to watch Spider-Man. In the heart of shopping and eateries. Theater looks small but I love the fully reclined leather seats with great customer service at the top of your fingers. The only problem I has was with my chair H11, it kept clicking and moving by itself which it's probably defective. Throughout the whole movie it bothered me. Movie snacks, food and drinks were brought to your seats and I enjoyed that. I had the fried pickled spears, so yummy. Bae ordered pina colada and chicken tenders. Popcorn was good too. Recently revisited. I had a good experience watching new release in auditorium 4. Food and drinks arrived on time although I did notice they still seem to be short staffed so I feel like the waiting service is hit or miss due to this. It can be hard to get a hold of someone if not following the QR code procedure or if you have any specific questions. The food and drinks were excellent. Recommend the pretzel for sure. Regarding sound I'm glad management has been receptive to feedback. Smaller auditorium 4 sound is excellent despite the smaller size of the room. The sound in auditorium 5 where I had a terrible experience before has been improved on a recent visit to where it is no longer grating or irritating however the sound is lacking bass. I fear they still don't have the appropriate subwoofers/equipment for that immersive theatric experience in auditorium 5 but hopefully that changes soon. I would recommend watching a movie here in auditoriums 1-4. Auditorium 5 sound is lacking bass and can be improved. Rooms 6&7 I am not sure about but hope any noise/tuning issues have been worked out. If the sound in 6/7 compares to room 4 then it should be a good time. Hope to see this theater continuously improve on providing a better experience. Will commend the management for caring on improving things. read more

First movie theater I've ever been to with such a concept! At least in the Bay Area, this is the only movie theater that I know of that has waiters/waitresses that actually come to your seats once you press the button and actually take your orders. Because of this, their menu is much bigger than other movie theaters. My boyfriend and I got the Mac and cheese (super bomb! Not too thick), friend pickles, calamari and the carne asada quesadillas. Yes, we were quite hungry, so don't judge :) The tab for the food (4 items) came out to be almost $80 and this was because they automatically add on the 20% gratuity. The only thing that was "eh" about this place were the really thin walls from one theater room to another. You can really feel the bass from the other movie next door. The price is not much more than any other theater in the bay area. In fact matinees are cheaper than the mall theater which is not nearly as nice. This theater has lounging reclining leather seats and people bring food to you so you don't have to stand in line. I've never had a bad experience at this theater. Located right next to a Michelin-awarded restaurant, Orchard City Kitchen, my girlfriend and I have watched movies here a few times after dining at OCK. Bringing someone on a date? Give them the OCK - Pruneyard Cinemas combo and I guarantee you guys will have an awesome time. They have a full bar inside the theater if you have some time to kill as well as a full kitchen if you wanted to get dinner here instead! They don't have regular ol' theater food either. They have actual meals with actual chefs cooking them, ranging from chicken wings, pastas, steak sandwiches, ice cream sundaes, you name it! They update their menus and have specials that directly correlate to new movies they are showing. For example: for Crazy Rich Asians, they had Singaporean Curried Noodles and Tamarind Lime Prawns. How. Awesome. Is. That!! You can literally go to your seat, press a button, and a worker will come to your seat to take your order. They'll take a credit card and give you your receipt after the movie ends. There's a small adjustable table right at your seat, which by the way, recline so far back you could almost fall asleep with how comfortable it gets. Tickets are relatively pricey but honestly, nowadays all movie theater tickets are unreasonably expensive so if you're going to spend $13-15 on a movie ticket, it might as well be here! *Pro tip: Tickets are only $10 for matinee showings so come during the day-time to get the most bang for your buck! read more

My sister and I have been wanting to watch Green Book, which has been out in theaters for a while. Unfortunately the theaters local to us were no longer hosting the movie. The only two nearby theaters still showing the movie were Pruneyard Cinemas and CineArts in Santana Row. We opted to go to Pruneyard Cinemas to switch things up. (By the way, please see Green Book. Excellent movie.) I haven't gone to Pruneyard Cinemas in like 8 years, and my sister had never been to the theater at all. It changed a lot from what I remember and definitely has gone through a renovation since then. The bar that used to be next to the theater was super divey, but now it's so much more trendy and hip. I don't recall the bar having an entry to the theater, and vice versa, but now there is a direct connection between the two. I'm sure it's where the alcoholic beverages come from if you order them inside the theater. My sister and I arrived around 30 minutes til showtime. We waited around 15 min or less for the cleaning crew to get the theater ready for us, and they did a great job of getting things tidied up. I only go to theaters with reserved, recliner seating, which I thought was as far luxurious movie-going experiences go. I was wrong. Pruneyard Cinemas took it to another level, and there's no turning back now. You've heard of gastropubs, right? Well, who knew that gastrotheaters were also a thing? Each seat had a full dinner menu including appetizers, gourmet popcorn, entrees, desserts, cocktails, wine lists, beer selections, etc. Before Green Book started, there were servers going around to each party or individual wanting to place orders. If you needed immediate attention, there was a button you pushed at the front of your recliner like a call button on an airplane. With that said, be mindful that you'll pay a premium for the ultimate experience at Pruneyard Cinemas. 2 cocktails, 2 beers, and 2 shared food items cost me $90 (+ tax and 20% automatic gratuity included) between me and my sister. It's crazy, I know, and I would never spend that much at a theater ever again! If you're on a budget, you can get regular concessions like sodas and butter popcorn out in the foyer. Service was fast! After my sister and I placed our first order, the food came out in 5 min. What was cool was that you could place all your drink orders at once, and the server can set a timer on his/her end to know when to bring out your next drink. This way, you can just get all your ordering out of the way and don't need to disrupt your movie watching flow to order another round of drinks. Pruneyard Cinemas had local craft beers on tap and tasty specialty cocktails. I got an IPA from Santa Clara Valley Brewing, one of my favorite local breweries right here in San Jose. I also ordered the Overseer, a handcrafted cocktail with bourbon and rye whiskey, which was very good. The food was surprisingly delicious. I mean, it better have been because food was NOT cheap. We ordered the nachos and Singaporean noodles to share. We got to enjoy the nachos before the movie started, and I was highly impressed by them! They were not your average theater nachos with out-of-the-bag tortilla chips and a side of packaged cheese. I'm certain that the tortilla chips were made freshly in-house. They were extra crunchy and held together quite well. The chips were topped with queso, avocado creme, shredded chicken, and refried beans. OMG that shredded chicken was amazing! It was so moist and tender. Our Singaporean noodles were pretty good too. I liked that skinny vermicelli noodles were used instead of thick ones. The sweet and sour sauce was very flavorful. The only downside to the Singaporean noodles was that we got the noodles maybe 5 min. into the movie, so I ate this entree in the dark. It's kind of weird eating in the dark, because you have to hone in with your other senses to figure out what you're really eating. Easier said than done though. I'm sure I tasted chicken in the Singaporean noodles, but I wasn't clear on what vegetables were in the dish since I couldn't seem them. One could only assume. read more

One star for the food. Four stars for cinema experience. Went to Once Upon......Hollywood on July 31. We saw things were really hopping as they were filming Queen Bingo. So we grabbed a drink and pizza in the outdoor bar area. Pizza was a piece of cardboard with a smoosh of sauce and pieces of barely warm, barely melted mozzarella. I thought it was disgusting but the hubby stepped up and ate it because it was supposed to be our dinner. I satisfied myself with a small tub of popcorn but after an hour and half decided to order the plain nachos from the on-call wait staff. Nachos - barely warm. Gross. After the movie (as I didn't want to disrupt the others during such an excellent film), the wait person did remove them from the bill immediately which I appreciated. So, if management wants to run The Cedar Room as a get down bar, that's great but it's supposed to be a CINEMA experience. Don't lose sight of why you redesigned the theater! read more
