Clearly two sides to the story here. For a manager, he was extremely unprofessional & emotional with us off the bat and getting in our face. We brought outside drinks because you don't offer anything remotely healthy other than water. Until movie theaters decide to offer more health conscious options, we will continue bring our own beverages. And yes, while that is your policy, you cannot confiscate our personal property. You can either ask us to leave the theaters or throw our items away, which neither option was given to us. Instead, your manager snatched our drinks and walked away. We made a remark about the situation, NOT your manager. He took it very personally and after confiscating our beverages (which were literally just healthy sodas) he marched back to our section, got in our face, and demanded an apology from us. I get you're going to take your employees side and try to save face for your business but its ridiculous to argue that your manager was "de-escalating" a situation by letting his emotions get the best of him and confronting a client in an aggressive manner. Also, if you're going to make something a policy, then it should be a policy mentioned before buying tickets on your website. It should be visible when checking out online, not just a small sign taped to a wooden stand in your lobby. read more

We used the order from your seat function during our movie night. It doesn't work unless you use WiFi. The old fashioned was good. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and it was drenched in pesto - way too much!! My so n had the chicken tenders and fries and this tasted much better- good seasoning. I like to come here for the SUPER comfy seats! They recline back a lot, and it feels better than my own couch. The movie price is comparable to other theaters. The dine-in service is slow sometimes. It is best to order before the movie starts because they serve you faster. However, after the movie starts, trying to get a refill on a drink was very frustrating! Let's start with the positives. The service was great. I ordered two large sodas in souvenir cups, but when our drink was unavailable, we purchased a couple of cans, and the employee let me have the cups on the house. The food was also brought out promptly while we were in our seats enjoying the film. Now the negatives. The seats are way too hard and uncomfortable. They kind of push you forward into an awkward position, and you can not lean back unless you raise your legs as well. So you've either got to lay down or sit leaning forward. We ordered a Philly cheese steak, and there was hardly any meat. It was all onion and bread and cheese. So the food wasn't that good and cost $23 with fries on the side. The main detractor here was the seats. You've got to be comfortable to enjoy a movie. I'll probably stick with Cinearts in Santana Row in the future. read more

I've been twice so far and I like this theatre! They only charge $9 for tickets on Tuesdays so it's definitely a good deal. I also appreciate that they serve food and drinks. So far, I've tried their popcorn, chicken tenders and fries, chicken nachos, and butter beer non-alcoholic cocktail. What works: -- seats are very comfy and recline a lot -- lots of space in the aisles so you never have to awkwardly squeeze your way to your seat -- good variety of foods on the menu -- butterbeer cocktail is pretty tasty, it's a butterscotch flavoured soda topped with whipped cream -- popcorn is vegan friendly if you don't add butter to it What doesn't work: -- the seats can't be heated but it's not a huge loss for me -- As expected, the menu is very expensive!! Nachos were $20, a single non alcoholic drink was $10. Definitely a splurge for the quality of food you're getting -- everything is so salty. The nacho chips were heavily coated in salt and then covered with a bunch of salty ingredients, chicken fingers and fries were heavily salted -- In general, the quality of the food isn't great. Chicken tenders weren't bad but definitely it great, fries were good, nachos were really bad in my opinion. Aside from all the salt, the chicken it was topped with had a lot of fat on it which wasn't pleasant to bite into and the beans and guacamole weren't pleasant either. Not worth the money. Love coming here to catch a movie! The theaters are super clean, nice, and very comfortable. You can recline your seat nearly completely flat and can order food and drinks (including alcohol) straight from your seat by scanning the QR code on your table. The popcorn is great and I haven't been disappointed by the food I've tried. Great selection of craft cocktails as well. Will always choose coming here over Century or AMC since it's not as crowded and is a far more enjoyable experience overall. Keep an eye out for those cheap matinee prices! read more

Customer looks around finally spies pretzels - all other items sold at snack bar are SUGARY. "I'll have 2 bags of pretzels". "Do you want anything to drink?" "Like I said - a small coke". Employee gets me pretzels and I am rung up for those and a small coke (which had to be 32oz). It was NOT small. "$19.00". Customer sees that pretzels are chocolate covered - something she specified she was not interested in and tells employee. "Do you want a refund?" By this time the show is about to start. I walked away grumbling and very unhappy. So far I've paid $19.00 + $15.75 ($34.75)!!!!! Also, your floors are uneven. As are your stairs in theaters. Need to make seat signage larger - difficult to see for anyone over 30 years old. Oh, and you do not offer Senior prices online? $15.75 total paid. I will not be back. Not that you care. This review is for the culinary cinemas experience specifically. I would give the experience itself a 5 star rating. The food id have to give a 3 so giving it a 4 star rating overall. My husband and I came to watch inglorious bastards. Event was set to start at 7. It began on time but started the evening off with a game of trivia. Those who answered trivia questions correctly were given prizes. Gift cards I believe, which I thought was really cool. Staff talked a little bit about what to expect for the evening, and what was coming for future culinary experiences. Head bartender also spoke for a few about the themed cocktail for the evening. I was not going to order it initially, but he really sold it so I got it and loved it. The entire staff was great. Friendly and prompt. Our starter was a burnt milk custard, with tomato, basil, and focaccia. Easily my favorite item for the evening. It was so light and refreshing and I really enjoyed the flavors. The main was chicken cutlets, with potatoes and sauerkraut. It had the potential to be great but the chicken was very dry. It was also cold. Flavor was good. Had I been at a restaurant I would've asked for it to be re made but I didn't want to interfere with the guests around me experience by having the staff come up and down the aisles anymore than they already had to. I did enjoy the dessert which was an apple strudel with cream and powdered sugar. It had just the right amount of sweetness. Was excited to see the movie Ferrari (2023) and to have that experience at this cinema, was incredibly disappointed. First off, the theater was freezing, and so I tried to find the manager - no one knew where they were. The only person I could find, who wasn't serving food behind the counter, showed zero empathy whatsoever. He looked at me as if it was a small complaint, not worthy of attention, even though everyone in the theater was freezing. He said he would try to find a manager, though instead went behind the food counter to take a food order, even though there was someone already behind the counter waiting to take food orders. In short, our theater (#5) was freezing due to a broken AC which kept running. Ummm...turn it off? I asked if they had blankets and he said I could buy one. You would think that he would have tried to make some concession, but no. He just didn't care and the manager was MIA. I ended up missing at least 15 to 20 minutes of the movie because of this. Anyhow, this used to be one of my favorite cinemas, and it has significantly gone downhill. There's much to be desired for better food options, most everything is fried or poor quality. The drinks are good - hence the two stars. The bar is like a chilly wind tunnel, they keep the doors open even though it's been cold and rainy outside. The carpeting looks to be somewhat dingy, and trash/food are littered throughout the walkways to the theater rooms. So disappointing. read more

Passed by this place and thought it was cool because they serve food and drinks at the theatre so we gave it a try. I believe it's the only movie theatre in the south bay that serves food inside. Prices are decent $13 for matinee (3p) and $17 for normal time. The food is a little overpriced, but it's fine. We ordered sangria, popcorn and loaded nachos with chicken. The sangria sucked so I suggest get a cocktail with a liquor of choice or a beer instead. Popcorn is really good. Loaded nachos with chicken is alright. We didn't finish it because it was hard to eat in the dark. The chips itself is like fresh nachos and not the typical movie theatre nachos. There were a bunch of stuff on it and a good amount of chicken. The downside to all of this is the serves come around for refills and to take orders. If you come In late, it can disrupt your movie time. i suggest getting there early to order. I like the concept so i'll def go back! Highly recommend! read more

Just got out of the 5:45pm showing of new Mission Impossible movie. The movie theater air conditioning was not working properly. The movie was held in the largest theater and was so stuffy. No air circulation. I went to one of the staff to complain and was told that it's on as cool as it can be. He told me that the unit is working hard at full capacity. I told him that it's not even a hot day outside. I can't imagine in a heat wave that this theater will be able to accommodate a room full of movie goers. I joined the Mavericks program in February. Never managed to use it for various reasons. Cancelled it in May and was supposed to be able to use it for the last month but I can't log in or get help. You will get help if you talk to someone at the cash register but you can't get a human on the phone. Glad I cancelled to stop bleeding money. This evening my husband and I reserved tickets to come to watch the new Indiana Jones movie. Aside from the movie being great, we enjoyed the nice electric recliners and ordered some great cocktails and shared the mini churros with chocolate sauce and ice cream. Everything was great! A word to the wise though, definitely try to place your order before the movie starts while the lights are on because it's really hard to see once the theater lights are off. As we came into the theater, a guy was handing out vouchers for a future movie to patrons exiting one of the theaters because their movie stopped showing. He allowed them to go into the next theater to rewatch it and then came in and announced an apology for the inconvenience for those whose movie malfunctioned and then he came around and gave out movie vouchers to anyone who lost their reserved seating because of the influx of the other patrons who came in. As he left, everyone applauded him for the great way he handled the situation. If he's a manager, he deserves a raise! If he's not one, consider making him one. read more

I've been to this theatre a few times. This last time was when my friend and I saw Smile. We went on a Tuesday so tickets were only $8! The luxury recliners are very comfortable and go back really far. I just wish they had heating because it gets so chilly inside. The theatre size is pretty small compared to normal, which I think is probably a good thing. You can also order food and drinks straight to your seat. My friend good the teriyaki chicken bowl which she said was really good and tender. We also got the fries which were delicious! They come in a twisty shape with a smoky Mayo and ketchup. Most recently, my husband and I had an encounter with a hostile, drunk man who arrived nearly 30 minutes late to the movie. His assigned seat was one over from ours, but since no one had shown up yet, we shifted slightly to give the couple next to us some space. When the man finally arrived, my husband politely offered to move and give him his seat back, but he immediately became loud, aggressive, and tried to start a fight. The situation escalated to the point where we felt unsafe and had to remove ourselves. We reported it to the manager, who assured us the man would be removed, as they don't tolerate that behavior. When we returned for a later showing, as arranged by the manager, it completely disrupted our plans. After more than an hour, we arrived for the same movie and saw the same drunk man still there as he had entered the men's bathroom. No accountability was taken as promised, we were in a hostile environment. Parking was also a nightmare, it took forever to find a spot again. To top it off, the women's restroom had no paper towels that day. When I told a staff member, she casually said I'd have to wait until tomorrow and made no effort to help. I thought about drying off my hands on my pants, but instead waited in a long line again to get some napkins from the snack bar. We don't care for the fact that they serve alcoholic drinks, it's a terrible idea. Several times, we've had our movie ruined by people who were visibly drunk, loud, and reeking of alcohol. It makes it hard to enjoy the film in peace. We've supported this theater for years, but lately it's been a huge letdown. Terrible experiences, no customer care, and slipping standards, it's disappointing. read more

Getting food and cocktails delivered to your seat while you're watching a movie is hella convenient, but also slightly annoying when it happens during the movie. I have to say that the staff tries their best to be as quick as possible (I have no idea how they manage to navigate this quickly when it's super dark in the theater). The cocktails we got from the bar were great ("string me baby one more time" is my jam!) and the potstickers we ordered were actually quite tasty (although a bit on the spicier side). You pay a bit more for the tickets and there is a 20% surcharge on the food that's delivered, but I'm willing to pay for the ease. read more

Love this theatre. The location is perfect because whenever my wife and I are in town we stay at a hotel nearby. It's the only other theatre that I know of other than studio movie grill in Rocklin, Ca that serves the food to you at your seat. Some people might say the prices are a little high but if you think about it your having dinner and a movie at the same time rather than going out to dinner then to a movie so you save time and gas money . Anytime I'm in town and want to see a movie it will definitely be at this theatre . The one and only down side is that the screens aren't as big as other movie theatres . read more

100% overrated. Food is over priced. The food is HIGHLY over priced. I got the max and cheese. Glad and tasted gross. A glass of Josh chard was $15. Wings were small and over cooked. Fries that came with food were burnt. A glass of coke came out after all of the food, an icee and a glass of wine. We watched people argue with people taking their seats. I would say the only plus side to going here is that the seats are very comfortable and recline pretty far back. I came here on a Monday night, so not very busy at all. First off, I love that you can order food to your seat. One of the major downfalls of this theater is that there is waitstaff that you are required to essentially pay more for, even if they don't provide you with good service. I'm all for tipping waiters and waitresses because they deserve it. However, a surcharge and a tip for a server that maybe comes to check on you once is just lame. I've been to other theaters that charge around the same for their food, so there's no need to then charge extra for wait staff when all they really do is take the order. A food runner is the one who delivers your order. Food itself is okay, nothing to rave home about. I ordered the chicken tenders with fries and it was $18 with tax which seems a bit much for a frozen meal. Soft drinks are available and alcohol which is cool. Parking is always bad in the Pruneyard but there's nothing the theater can do to change that. You can try to park in the large lot in front if you're lucky, otherwise I'd head for the garage because even though it's further, it usually has plenty of spots. read more

Felt very humid/warm in the theater and at the ending of the movie it felt like they just turned off the ac entirely. We went to see a film since we had purchased the platinum rewards. It was Wednesday at 3:15. When we arrived there was NOBODY anywhere. The place was open and several doors were open which said 'Employees only' We called out and not one person appeared. We had bought tickets online but were supposed to get vouchers at the theater. We just walked to the theater showing our movie which had not been cleaned since whenever the last show was. The floor had popcorn and was sticky. We pushed the call button every so often. Then about 45 mins in, some guy showed up. We asked about the popcorn and he said he'd get it for us. We ordered some drinks too. On the whole this was a very disappointing experience. In times of COVID the Pruneyard Cinemas is a welcome escape to a sense of familiarity and the "before times". First off, patrons have the option to either show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within the past 72 hours. This is AWESOME! For anyone that's just waking up for the first time in 18 months, you can get a free COVID test through the county at covid19.sccgov.org/covid-19-testing, so I felt good about buying tickets and knowing my family has some level of trust/safety. Next, because the seats recline you don't have someone breathing over your head or right in your face in front of you - AWESOME POINT NUMBER TWO! You get to pick your seats of course, so we selected seats that were away from other occupied seats. We got there and didn't have anyone sitting directly next to us, so we felt totally comfortable getting food and drinks. AWESOME POINT NUMBER THREE! Now, even though we're in the midst of a global pandemic, we were still able to press the "easy button" (literally a button) on our reclining chairs for a server to come by and take our food/drink order. We ordered some delicious beers, waters, and loaded nachos. Everything was super delicious!! AWESOME POINT FOUR!!! Then, when we were halfway through the movie we were able to order more drinks and popcorn super fast and easily. The servers were nice, wore their masks (we wore ours when they came by of course), and it was a fantastic experience. When it was all over, the credits rolled, the lights came up, and the bathrooms were clean as we rushed away from our seats. AWESOME POINT FIVE! Disappointed with the food service. Spent $15 on a hotdog meal, which, while expensive, was expected since it supposed to be delivered right to your seat. This never happened. (Only five patrons in the theatre this day- not busy by any means) Waited 30 minutes but my meal never arrived. Had to leave the movie and asked what happened at the food counter. The person at the counter had no idea where it was and expected me to wait even longer while they prepped it. As it was, this caused me to miss ten minutes of the movie. Eventually it arrived. The hotdog was just ok. The "meal" included six whole fries. Wow Wrote to management to give them a chance to explain before I posted this but so far they've been silent. read more

Went here months ago, but our experience was so memorably awful that I felt the need to share. We started the evening with a drink at the bar, which was just fine. Perfectly fine drinks in a fun environment. When we went to the theater (we were watching Wakanda Forever) we ordered some nachos with chicken on them and some pickled veggies, accompanied by a drink inspired by the film. The projection and the seats were just fine, but the food.... It was scarily bad. My pickled veggies didn't taste great - the pickles tasted rancid. And the worst part: everything else tasted like that pickling liquid, too. Even the drink. My partner, who never vomits, threw up for the first time in years that night. I wish so much that the food had been as good as everyone else here described. I wanted for this to be a spot we could come to every time we wanted to see a movie. read more
