I rarely leave reviews but the service at this place was nonexistent. I walked in and sat at the bar. Not very busy maybe about 8 people in the bar. Sat for about 5 minutes and realized about 4 people formed a line for drinks. Some part of me felt I should join in line but continued to wait. Then the bartender comes up to the bar and starts helping a couple that JUST walked in through the doors. While I have been waiting for about 10 minutes now. I left. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Pub 44 was so unacceptable that I feel people need to be warned. I came in with some friends and ordered a Tokyo Iced Tea--just looking to have a relaxed night. The bartender, Kaylyn, was cold from the start, and things quickly went downhill. On a previous visit, I tipped her $20 just for one drink--something I completely regret now, given how she treated me this time around. When I ordered a second drink and went to close my tab, a shot I never ordered was added to my bill. I told Kaylyn politely that I didn't order it and asked for it to be removed. She refused and insisted I pay for it. Both times she gave me the bill, she slammed the receipt and pen down in front of me with clear attitude. When I stood firm, she suddenly accused me of calling her a b-word, which I absolutely did not say. Then she said, "When you first came in here, I knew I didn't like you," judging me purely based on how I looked. Completely unprofessional and inappropriate. To make things worse, Kaylyn seemed intoxicated while working and was serving drinks to her boyfriend at the bar--who also appeared to be drunk. That same guy (bald with a mustache, and apparently also an employee) got in my face, mocked me, and tried to provoke a confrontation. I couldn't believe it. I walked away, and after I left, he even tried to start a fight with some of my friends outside the bar. This was one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had. Hostile staff, unsafe environment, and zero accountability. I'll never be back, and I absolutely do not recommend this place. read more

A group of us met at Pub 44 for lunch and beers after a bit of shopping at the Alderwood Mall. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Pub 44 is a true dive bar; 21+ only allowed. A variety of entertainment choices can be made; darts, pool tables, pull tabs and TVs. Large parties can be easily accommodated. Happy Hour is offered Monday-Friday from 3pm-7pm and Saturday-Sunday from open-7pm. Pub 44 offers a nice selection of craft beer, standard domestic beers, hard cider, wine and a full bar. There's bound to be something for everyone. Food menu is modest, listing typical bar grub. During our visit, table service was not offered due to a staff shortage. All drink and food requests were performed at the bar. I had a couple Trickster IPAs for $5.25 (hh) and my wife has a couple Manny's for $5.25 (hh). My wife ordered the Chicken Strips for $10.50 (hh). She stated they were gristly and didn't eat them. I ordered the Nachos for $12 (hh). At first I was impressed; however, it only took a few bites to realized that the toppings we inadequate for the amount of chips provided. We wasted this meal also. Went on a Friday evening with a group of six for karaoke. The bar is sorely understaffed, the two behind the bar were curt and unpleasant. Don't make the mistake of opening a tab, or you'll regret it at the end of the evening. The line for drinks was often 20-30 people deep, and took upwards of 30 minutes to reach the bar. To close out, I asked someone on the floor if they could bring the bill, and was told to wait in line. Again, 30 minutes to just pay our bill. Also, the floor in the kitchen area was nauseating at best, especially for a food prep area, only to be outdone by the condition of the restroom. read more

The men who work here are ugly. Floors are sticky. Machines are broken. Drinks are watered down and beer taste like piss. It's a weird place to be. It's the weird bouncer with the whiskers curled into his lip that was the red flag for me. read more

Came here for drinks only. This place has been here a long time. The bartender (a very nice gentleman) has worked there for almost 30 years which shows they take care of their employees (which is nice to see). From what I hear the place hasn't changed a bit in a few decades but does have an "add on" section which is large and light. It looks like it was just an extension of another section in the building. unlike their cozy "ship" area (which I thought was neat). It is a true dive bar. I didn't order food but it looked and smelled good while coming out of the kitchen. The place was quite busy for the middle of a Sunday, and it was filled with regulars. Parking is not an issue here. As for activities, they have plenty of pool tables as well as a row of dart boards. Plenty of seating for large groups as well. Not sure if they play music but they have a good sized dance floor. read more

When paying my tab, the bartender asked me to comply with making rules. As I observed the cook activitely preparing meals in the kitchen without wearing a mask, I asked if the bartender would ask his cook to also wear a mask. The bartenders response was that the cook should be exempt because the cook isnt around people. When I pointed out that the cook is preparing food without observing proper safety precautions, bar tender called me an A-Hole and told me I am never allowed back. I called out 44 today to speak to a manager, they were hesitant to put me through to anyone and informed me that both managers are on vacation until mid december. Thats either a very poor management decision, or they are hiding behind their employees. Either way, SAD and I'm looking into how to report this further read more

I do not get to drink very often. I live about an hour away from any big city. I am usually the designated driver, seeing as how I would have to drive home otherwise anyway. I happened to stay with my roommate whom was house sitting nearby, and she was my D.D. tonight. Normally when I go to a bar, it's just to dance, because I have to drive home afterwards. Food is not their forte, as i figured much since they are a bar... but they have wonderful/upbeat bartenders that keep the place lively. I enjoy the chill vibe. It's a sweet local spot I like to hang back and drink with my friends when we don't want to go into town. Also I can count on music always awesome. Not to mention karaoke sessions that can be quite fun, as a spectator only. This place is a thriving local establishment without a doubt. It gets *packed* in here on the weekends; the parking lot always looks jammed when I drive by on a weekend night. Finally got to check out the place when our power went out in a windstorm and we needed a spot to hang out while waiting for light. The downtown Lynnwood business district mostly had power, and these guys were bustling. It's been a sports bar/watering hole for years and years--decades, actually. They've only been Pub 44 for a few years as far as I know, but there's something timeless about the place. Maybe it's the attic with the piles of stuff in it--you can kinda see it over the bar if you lean back a little bit. You think it's a balcony at first but it's storage. The main space of the place is jammed with pool tables, tables and chairs, a dance floor, and a stage. If you dig on karaoke and watching the game in the same night, you'll probably have fun here. There aren't that many karaoke sports bars in my experience, but this spot appears to have cornered the market on that experience. It was a beehive of people in Seahawks jerseys who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Our waitress could not have been nicer. She was friendly and cheerful all night, even as it got late enough for creepy drunks to start feeling her up. She was always positive and upbeat when she got back around to our table. We got fairly flat, stale beer in frosted glasses, one of which was chipped. So...they're not courting the beer lover at all. You can get a couple of decent choices if you want a beer, but that's not why this place is here. Karaoke here was at least as painful as it is anywhere else. What really stands out is how even people born after 1990 sing all the same cheesy overdone pop schlock from the 70s and 80s that the previous generation has been singing at karaoke for the last 20 years. Do they not update the machines? Or are karaoke fans just all homogenously appreciative of the same crummy music? Bon Jovi, Journey...stuff that is just barely good enough to prove that a drunk idiot can make it tangibly worse on a Saturday night. It's no fun being a dick on Yelp about this place. Clearly, hundreds of people were having an absolute ball here this weekend. So if you love pool, karaoke, and broadcast sports all in the same pub sandwich, then check this place out. This place has cockroaches. I am a regular customer and come atleast 5 times per month. There was one crawling on my table. I told the server about it and asked if they had an infestation. She told me yes they do and they spray for them but they will not go away and there is nothing they can do. They will be knocking the building down in a year anyways. I trapped the one on my table under my drink and told her i am not sure what she wants me to do about it. Came to this bar with 3 buddies on a random Friday night. We literally dove into this spot, no itinerary nor expectation. Just think Michael Phelps before his 7th medal. DIVEEEEE! Mixed crowd, dingy atmosphere, standoffish waitresses. Loved the Wide dance floor ratio (for the brave) to the billiards and darts section. Felt loud in the crowd but enough space to mingle and tingle without the obnoxious noise. But something about that beer (under $7 a pint) that makes you enjoy life north of Seattle. Girlfriend and I came to this bar for a couple drinks after having dinner. Immediately the security was very kind and welcoming. Extremely refreshing, given the fact security can be very rude and brash at other bars on weekend nights. The bartender served us promptly with a smile and friendly banter. Soon enough though, the bad side of the evening came out from the shadows. The jalapeños from my dinner were ready to make me pay for my ill advised decisions. I went there with two of my friends and one just moved to the US so she has a green card and the international passport and here is the funny story, she refused to serve her alcohol and asked her to leave and the reason she said was that she doesn't have a Washington state Id and when my friend explained her that international passport should work and green card is a federal id then she replied that we are controlled my Washington state liquor board and we only accept Washington state id and no green card. This place is alright. I came in with my sister and one of the servers was super nice, he came up and greeted us, asking if we wanted drinks. He was extremely helpful throughout the night in getting us drinks and checking in on us. This is why I'm even giving this place a star--because this server was so nice. Things escalated when some friends were playing pool and a girl who apparently works at the bar came in and belligerently knocks balls into holes, saying that they had set the table up and it was their 75 cents that they used to pay for the table. When my friends let them have the table after they acted extremely rude, she comes up and says that she'll get us kicked out (seriously? For what? Playing pool on a pool table that no one was playing at? Okay.) Next thing you know, 3 "security guards/bouncers" come over trying to act all tough, trying to "solve" the situation. I literally could've given this girl 75 cents if that's what she wanted. We decided to leave because it was getting no where. As the group was making our way to the bar to close out, bouncer guy follows our friend, harassing him basically, while 2 other "security guys" are standing there watching. The bouncer guy doesn't even let us close out, and shoves my friend into a group of people. First of all, he had no reason to be shoving. We were already on our way out. Second of all, our friend was shoved into a group of people--that makes an unsafe environment for everyone there. Some people who were in the way of the shove started throwing punches because of it. It seems like there's a pattern with this type of behavior at this bar. It's just interesting how bouncers/security guards are allowed to harass you while other security guards are there to hold you while the other pushes and shoves you. Get off your high horses and stop acting so "tough." It's disgusting. These people just seem power hungry. Will not be back. Very disappointed. read more

The main thing I like about this place is that it has just about anything you could ever want from a classic sports bar. There's lots of space for games like pool, darts, and beer pong to go along with the seemingly endless supply of flat screen TV's positioned perfectly for maximum viewing no matter where you are. The food menu is pretty standard for bar food with gigantic plates of nachos piled high next to impressive looking chili burgers. Of course, a sports bar wouldn't be complete without a fully stocked bar and several taps available to keep the thirstiest party goers satisfied. Each time I have been here there has been karaoke going on and you can tell there is a solid roster of locals who love to stop in for their latest round of Lynnwood Idol rehearsals. Apparently, you will also find DJ's playing the latest club remixes and mash ups on certain nights so people can dance the night away after getting their fill of all the drinks, food, and games. read more

We've been sitting here now for over 20 min and no service from the staff and no one to be seen. Its Sunday at 3:00 PM right in the middle of a NFL Sunday. We hit the 30 min mark and just got service. We would have left but already asked a few people to show up here. We won't be making plans for others to come and join us here. So they advertise as a football bar but have NASCAR on over football even when you request to have the channel changed and the bar is full of NFL fans. This place is seriously lacking in customer service and not the greatest food but it is bar food. Gave it a shot the other day & have been back a few times since. Huge bar with pool tables, dance/karoake floor, dart boards & lots of seating. Drinks are stiff & cheap. Food is typical bar food (greasy) & NOT vegetarian friendly :( I have heard some of the BEST karoake singers in my life at this bar. They offer karoake pretty frequently.
