Stayed at the hotel and had breakfast here the day we left. Probably top 3 hotel breakfasts of my life. Food was fresh, delicious and the ambiance was perfection. I was so engrossed in the experience that I forgot to take any photos, but trust me.

One of the best meals of my life! I had it everyday I was there. Amazing service, everyone was so kind and funny. I'll definitely be back in Canada just for this dish.

This restaurant is located inside Hyatt Hotel. Do not let that fool you! Is great ! The prices, the food, the drinks, the servers! This is just perfect! The ambiance is perfect for any occasion.

I bet you've never been here! That's probably because @restaurantcartierarms has been open for about... 2 weeks? A new venture from the Burgundy Lion group located within the Hyatt Centric hotel, this beautiful restaurant has an impressive selection of spirits where you can give your best James Bond impression by building your own martini.  With a very friendly and helpful staff, that also apparently create their own cocktails and seem to have a vast knowledge on the history of drink mixing, our experience was very pleasant!

We stayed…read moreat Le Mount Stephen Hotel without doing much research on dining options, assuming we'd just find something nearby. But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

While the restaurant is highly celebrated and located within a Michelin-recognized hotel building, it does not hold a Michelin star of its own. But it is extremely classy. We decided to do lunch instead of dinner and it was a little more our speed, but if very, very attentive waitstaff is not your thing and $200 for lunch I'd skip this spot. We went because it had reviews for amazing beef Wellington and my husband hadn't had any in decades. And we were on vacation so let's go! The food was beautifully plated and service was impeccable inside of an amazingly decorated dining room that looked like a library in a mansion. The meals themselves weren't obscenely expensive but add a glass a wine, bread (it was not included) and coffee and it put us close to $200. But it was a great experience and I had never had beef Wellington - it was melt in your mouth good. Might go again next time we come up from CT.

There was a nicely selected set of local beers on the menu. We had a few and they were great. I won't detail them as I think the selection changes routinely. It was tough to decide what to get. I was poutine-curious but was unsure about the foie gras gravy. Andrew ordered the poutine with the duck confit. He loved it and said it was among the best poutine he has had. I went for the traditional mussels as Andrew said this is a thing to get in Montreal, they will do it well. He was right, the bowl was huge and the mussels and sauce were excellent. The only thing I would change is I like a baguette with mussels more than fries so if that is an available substitution I would be all in. I loved this place, I would go back again when I return to Montreal.

This is a bar that also has a small amount of table seating, but the ambiance is clean and nice, not like a dive bar. Our server was great as well. I had the burger and I added blue cheese and pickles to it. They gave me lots of pickles which was great, but the blue cheese was spicy, I think it was blended with horseradish or something. My dad had the French onion soup and the feta with mixed vegetables. To drink I had the L'alveole, which was tasty and similar to a paloma, but could have benefitted from some salt or tajin on the rim.

We were already exploring the area so it seemed like a natural fit, so off we went. My general assessment of Else's is that it is more of a neighborhood spot than a destination eatery, which is totally fine because usually those are some of the best spots. Upon entry, we were greeted by a large open dining area with tables scattered throughout and a bar along one of the back walls. The decor is casual, with a dark color scheme to match the bar setting. Their drink menu is larger than their food menu, but despite that they have a nice variety. I didn't see any pattern with the food - there was a mix of plate sizes and types of cuisines. The pulled pork sliders looked good so I went with those; the dish came with two sliders and a side of coleslaw. I really enjoyed this - there was a generous helping of pork in each slider and the sauce had a nice tang to it. I'm normally not a fan of slaw since it is usually cream-based, but this one wasn't so it was quite refreshing and a good contrast to the pork. Service was great, the entire team was friendly. Overall, this was a really good find in Montreal - if you're looking for something low-key with solid food then this would be ideal. I'm interested how the vibe changes at night, so I would be open to returning in the evening for a drink and to explore more of their menu.

The kind of place you wish you had in your neighborhood, so people would call your neighborhood "vibrant" too. The menu is small and eclectic (tacos, butter chicken, Mac 'n' cheese). I had a giant Moscow Mule to start, and ordered Butter Tofu, one of several vegetarian options. The rice was perfect and the sauce was good, though the large cubes of tofu were a bit bland themselves. Wifething had the fancy mac 'n' cheese, which was creamy and smooth. Endlessly busy on a Saturday night, but a good mix of two-tops and larger (8-10) groups. Great service and friendly staff!

I was part of a group of four people, and I was the only Black male in the party. Everyone else received their food, ate their meals, and even received their checks while I sat there waiting. I had ordered nothing complicated--just a plain burger and fries--yet I waited approximately one hour without anyone offering an explanation or update. Eventually, a different waitress brought my food after everyone else had already finished eating. By then, I told her I no longer wanted it because the entire dining experience had been ruined. The food looked like it had been thrown together at the last minute, and no one offered a sincere apology or took responsibility for what happened. What made the experience even worse was that my original waitress largely ignored me throughout the ordeal. There was no communication, no concern for the unreasonable delay, and no effort to make things right. As the only Black male in my group, I left feeling like I was treated differently. I can't say with certainty what motivated the service I received, but the way I was overlooked while everyone else was served left me questioning whether discrimination played a role. Regardless of the reason, no customer should be treated this way. I won't be returning, and I hope management takes this review seriously by looking into what happened and ensuring every customer is treated with the same level of respect and professionalism!!
