    $13.95 meatball dish
    Delilah B.

This was really absurd. The photo shows the entire order of four ikea swedish meatball-sized meatballs that were sold to me for $13.95. I initially ordered the $9.95 "Meatball in a Cup" as listed on a big poster on storefront (same price for a meatball hero also mentioned on big poster) but I was charged $13.95 plus tax and I asked about the price discrepancy and was told the poster was old, I didn't want to nickel and dime the nice guy at register so I paid, and the photo shows the size of the order received. None were eaten before I took the photo. They also tasted like Stoeffers frozen dinner quality. Just a little shocked. You can see from my other reviews that I nearly never negatively review but this was a cartoonesque.

Food: Any deli will make a much better panini. Service is awful. I waited a sandwich for 25 mins

    Gluten Free Chocolate Cake

We were not dismayed with the size of the portions for takeout... The food is very good ... bordering on excellent.... fresh pasta ... undoubtedly made fresh ... a welcome to our palate. We ordered chocolate cake for six dollars but it is gluten free and expensive... should have not ordered dessert it is a small portion... We also ordered the pasta dishes pesto as well as the fettuccine... The portions were Enough for us ... May not be for others. But ,the quality and texture makes up for the portion . The salad was Good the chicken meatballs for nine dollars was expensive... not for the budget conscious... but soooooo good.

    Potato leek soup

First of all the deli every was FAST! I ordered my food at 6:29 pm and received it at 6:50pm. Granted I do live close by, it was sill very quick! I ordered the potato leek soup which I thought would be like a puréed thick soup but it was more a broth with big chucks of potato and leeks. The broth had great flavor! For my entree I ordered the fettuccine del bosco. The noodles were homemade and the sauce was so nice and light but flavorful and loaded with mushrooms! My only complaint would be the portion was a bit small for $13 but fresh food like that in the city is rare so I was okay with it! For dessert I ordered the tiramisu, I was disappointed as it was mostly cream. I think it was a corner slice so that could be why but there was only a small amount of lady fingers and no rum or coffee flavor it was just a lot if cream. They also included a few pieces of bread with this AMAZING oil and vinegar dipping dressing. I wanted more bread for that alone! It was so yummy! Overall the meal was delicious and I would order again for sure!

Great food but small portions and overpriced
    Mike I.

Ate here twice including today. Food is actually very good BUT it's WAY overpriced and very small portioned amount of food. This is more of a place to stop for a snack because there portions will NOT fill you up. Paid $33 for two pasta dishes for my wife and I and we were still both hungry afterwards. I'm not bashing the food, it's definitely tasty but I won't come here anymore based on the portions.

Got a TGTG order here. 11/10 I'd do it again…read more Brooklyn DOP actually originated as a pandemic business where my friend's personal trainer started baking pizzas outside of his Greenwood Heights apartment. When the hype got large enough, the owner decided to start a pizzeria and the rest is not history. This is one of the more worthwhile TGTG orders to me. Their pizza is SOOO perfectly crisp and charred, and actually is one of the closest pizzas that reminds me of the famous originals in Napoli.

Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese. Vegan garlic knots were great too.

Konditori, Villager, Bakeri, Hidden Grounds, and now Velvette Brew. First, the space: light, airy and I can imagine with their big windows, a sun soaked place on a sunny day. There are plenty of seats: tables and high top tables. Their menu offers a bit of everything from soup, sandwiches, quiche and pastries. There is a nice option of beverages hot/cold. Today, was a bit damp so I ordered a hot chai with bite size checkerboard cookies to dip. The barista was very pleasant and I found a seat while waiting for my chai. I see a lot of patrons working in laptops, some meeting up to talk and sip and even the barista chatted with a local patron. Love it! My chai was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The chai was frothy, rich, the black tea leaves infused with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, sweetener, and milk. I savored every sip and complimented the barista. It is always great to find a new coffee place. I expect to be a loyal local at Velvette Brew. They also host music events and have a collaboration with Cry Baby Ice Cream.
