I have gone to so many baseball games this past season and I always see this location. I kind of always forget about it and then only as I am passing by it do I remember about it. Ok, so on one of the last few games we decided to make it a reason to go early and try this place out. ok few things to keep in mind. It's not connected to the ball park but you can enter the restaurant from the ball park but not the other way around. When we walked in its HECTIC. You have to find a place to sit where ever you can. It's first come for seats. We found seats and then we waited for our server. You can tell it's busy so we knew we would have to wait. Once our waiter came we ordered everything at once since we didn't know when we would see her again (due to it being busy, not because she was lacking on her job) we ordered drinks, loaded fries, and a huge pretzel. The drinks were a total bummer. The were awful, all you could taste was liquor with a scent of lime and salt. We should have just had shots. The loaded fries were just OK but the true Show stopper was the pretzel. Believe it or not, it was perfectly toasted, warm and not too salty. We ordered one to go. When we were leaving we saw a older couple standing trying to find a table and seats we just gave them our stuff and said "good luck" since at that point it seems as if it got even more crowded and loud then when we first walked in. it was a good ONE timer the whole experience I mean. This is my go-to spot before a Giants game! There is an entrance at the corner of 3rd and King, and it's also connected to Oracle Park. Public House (PH) is open during non-game days as a stand-alone restaurant and bar, but shines as a pre-game hangout! You can enter the ballpark with a ticket to the game from inside PH, however it's important to note that if there is a SGA (Stadium Giveaway), you will not receive one entering here. The play is to enter the stadium at the Willie Mays Gate, then immediately cut right and enter PH from inside the ballpark. Security will issue you a wristband upon entry, so you don't have to show your ticket to get back into the stadium from PH. I believe the cutoff is around 1st pitch, but confirm when entering. They feature a decent sized menu with a little something for everyone. We usually eat inside the ballpark, but have eaten here a few times and enjoyed the food. One of the other main reasons we come here is for the drinks! They have beer, wine, and cocktails at a "regular", reasonable price. They have craft beers on tap, as well as canned beers and ciders. We've even had a Bloody Mary or two in the morning before day games. Another hot tip: you can bring the drinks you buy at PH into the stadium. They won't let you bring cans or glass, so just tell the bartender you want it to-go, and they'll hook you up with a plastic cup. KNBR will occasionally live stream from the patio outside, which is always fun and exciting to see the personalities IRL and hear them discuss Bay Area sports in person! As you can imagine, they can get pretty busy before and during games. They have a limited number of people working, so anticipate you might have to wait, and be patient. The staff all work really hard and are usually friendly if you smile and aren't rude about getting their attention. Special shout-out and thank you to Lisa at the bar! She is there for pretty much every game I've been to, and is always so nice, friendly, and brightens our day with her infectious smile. It was a dark and stormy night. My friends and I had just wrapped up our Dungeons & Dragons campaign for the evening and wanted to go out to dinner... somewhere relatively close by and inexpensive. We'd gone to Epic Steak before, but it was a little too far to walk or bus in the rain. Someone suggested Public House, which was a brilliant idea. No one would be here during the baseball off-season. We walked in and found the place to be relatively empty, except for an alumni party happening in a semi-private section of the restaurant. Our waiter was super friendly and chill. He sat us at a giant table because why not? We ordered a pitcher of IPA, some fries, and dinner. I got the steak with garlic butter, which seemed appropriate for the environment. It was surprisingly good. I always assumed that "touristy" food would be subpar. Looking around, Public House is a great place to host parties or watch the game. Decided to come here in the off-season before the games start. Always such a crowd on game day that I don't even bother anymore. Amazingly on Saturday night we walked in to an almost empty place and sat down to watch a Warriors game. It was nice to sit down with just a few other patrons there, have a burger, some mini corn dogs, some beers and nachos. Now don't laugh, but I love their nachos. They don't drown it in salsa to the point where the chips get flimsy. It is mostly beans and guacamole and the nachos are served on a crispy baked tortilla as well. Really great! The burger and onion rings were perfect along with the mini corn dogs. What really works in the offseason is that you can watch sports on multiple stations just as if you were your own living room and not having to deal with too many people if that is your preference. read more

So have you heard about the Impossible Burger? Well, Jamie W. read about it and thought we should try it here since we are on a continual quest to eat healthier. Sure, we've had veggie burgers before, some really good ones like the Black Bean Chipotle Veggie Burger at the Garden Grill up in Guerneville (photo: http://bit.ly/2sn9ifr) and our personal favorite, the Butterbean Burger at the Boiler Room Oyster Bar in Kinston, North Carolina (photo: http://bit.ly/2sAkJAS). So we were intrigued enough by this all-plant variation that we ordered a couple of the $14 ones they served here where our previous dining experiences involved jalapeno poppers, deviled eggs, their regular PH burger, and oh yeah, beer on tap to facilitate the guzzling of such cholesterol-infested grub. Well, apparently there is no cholesterol in an Impossible Burger nor antibiotics nor meat of any kind. What gives the burger its meaty flavor is heme, which is the non-protein, insoluble, iron protoporphyrin constituent of hemoglobin. Say what? I just copy-pasted that from an online medical dictionary, but that's what makes the patty look, smell, sizzle, bleed, and taste like a regular burger (photo: http://bit.ly/2rgs1pq). And amazingly it did. I was dumbfounded how a vegan burger could taste so carnivorous, but it did even if beef purists likely balk at the notion. It came with provolone melted on top with caramelized onions and a smoke & spice sauce to give it even more of a barbecue flavor (photo: http://bit.ly/2szkciw). Hell, I liked it. But it's not a perfect substitute since it has five times the sodium and more saturated fats than a regular burger. It's also about the same number of calories in case you are counting, about 220 calories for the patty itself. We also went with a $6 order of the Crispy Cauliflower with Sweet Pepper Relish, which was a pretty healthy choice for a bar bite (photo: http://bit.ly/2t0UJvO). Regardless, I'd still come back for the Impossible Burger. It was delish...and so good for me? All I hear about is the burger. But it wasn't that great. Also not great is the seating on game night. There is no help, hang around until you spot something. I came here to try the impossible burger. Walking in, I really like the ambiance of this sports bar. It's located right under at&t park. You can sit wherever you choose: the bar, the high top tables, at normals tables, or outside. There are TVs everywhere, so it's a good spot to watch sports. The impossible burger was just okay. Paired with sweet potato fries, it came it to $17 before tax and tip. Kind of steep. The consistency was a little closer to real meat than other veggie burgers I've tried, but the flavor was still off. Glad I tried it once though and at least the fries were yummy! Without fail, this spot is always popping on game day, and security and metal detectors are located at the front door to prevent people from sneaking in alcohol or other prohibited items. The bouncers and waitstaff that I've encountered have all been kind enough, however I've never sat down and ordered food here before so I can't speak on that aspect of this establishment. There are plenty of TV's all over this place to watch either the game going on, or other pre-recorded games prior to the game starting. Expect to pay ballpark prices for alcohol here (aka crazy high), however you can bring into the ballpark any drinks you buy here. Get in line @ PublicHouse and B part of the flood of people who make it inside PublicHouse 4 their 1st seating and/or those coveted bar-stools... We have been back and at the last game decided it was time to update my review. Public House was one of my first reviews here on Yelp........ Ah memories........ Its still holding onto its solid 4 stars. Its still pretty chaotic and they should perhaps explain the process better to people who have never been there. That being said, we did not have to wait long and soon found ourselves a table (carnival seating for those that have never been). Lots of draft beer to chose from and the food was good as always. For this meal: Truffle Mac and Cheese Fritters: The only letdown. I know better and always order it, but the cheap truffle oil is always a disappointment. The fritters were well fried but the mac and cheese was mostly mac and needed more cheese. It was also a bit bland. We asked for a side of BBQ sauce and that kicked them up. Corn: The Elotes was good, but I would prefer it grilled instead of boiled but perhaps that is more of a personal taste thing. The PH Burger: with bacon and the works it was really good. Cooked medium rare as requested it was juicy. The bun did not make it through the meal. The side salad was perfectly dressed and had really fresh greens. My son also had a burger with fries and the fries were well cooked and properly seasoned. Again the big plus to this place is that the beers are better, cheaper, can be put into a plastic cup to take into the stadium, and they have an entrance right in the back of the restaurant. I stopped into PH for a drink 2-3 hours before the game to get a margarita. I walked right up to the bar & was immediately served- not a wait- not busy at all. I received the absolute worst drink I've ever had in my life. It was all ice, with a sliver of lime. I could taste no liquor. It wasn't willed to the top except for ice which was packed. I pause $15 for a cup of water & ice. I regret not returning & complaining but I left into the ballpark & unfortunately did not. There was no excuse for this- they weren't busy, they could have made me a decent drink. I am a 59 year old woman who has done my share of drinking. I know when I've been ripped off. Unfortunately I waited too long. I expect that this bartender saw an older woman & tried to take advantage of me on game day. This is a happening place at Oracle Park (formerly ATT Park). When it's time for a brewski before, during or after the game, there's no finer pub than the Public House. The place is a large decent size place to sit down , grab a bite and a brew. It's a classy place that can really get packed when the weather is nice or when the Giants are winning. The crowd and staff are courteous and inviting. Sometimes people get so comfortable, they forget they're here to watch a live game and are mingling the whole night away . It's all good. read more

I usually come here when I want to watch games with friends. It's connected to the AT&T park/Oracle park. So you can easily grab food after a game or if you don't want to spend money on game tickets, then this is the place to be at. Also, they have so many high definition TVs here. As the final food stop on the Yapsie SOMA Pupcrawl, everybody was excited to enjoy some snacks and beers. When we pulled up, the side gate was wide open for us and we were greeted by the super friendly staff. It was pretty clear that everybody loves dogs! We started off with pitchers of local brews Racer 5 and Trumer Pils, which quickly ended up being quite a few more pitchers after that. Not only did everybody love dogs, but the beers were crazy popular too! We followed that up with some of their famous corn dogs which were delicious with the mustard sauce. This was only a tasting, but I'll definitely be back during game days for a full order! The event staff was super helpful and I'm really excited to go back and enjoy their puppy patio. Love that this place is right outside/next to AT&T Park. It's a nice bar/restaurant however, seating is limited, especially after a game. Anyways, the staff is nice and polite. I was a bit hesitant that we wouldn't be reached because you walk in and seat yourself (which i thought would make the wait staff work a little harder than usual because they'd have to keep up with who was coming in and out). The burger and the sandwich that we had gotten were perfect! Portions are great because my boyfriend and I were full leaving just a couple bites left. Plenty of televisions to watch out of town games. Service is impressive given how slammed it can be on game days. If you want a table, you need to arrive early as people tend to camp out at the tables until just before game time. If you can't beat then join them.
