Wow..... I don't even know what to say. I don't know if the staff was being shifted around or what happened. Was seated and given kids menus but no adult menus... ok... 20 minutes goes by.... I'm by the waitress station mind you.... And crickets..... finally get a menu and put our whole order in..... food starts coming out... so I'm good... then crickets.... Other waitress start asking if we need anything because it's been another 20 minutes and no refill. The runners did a great job. Food was delicious. I get it's a busy Sunday but don't seat people if you're not ready for them. Hanna is hands down the best waitress and will only be seated in her section from now on. Wow.... Like it got to the point I noticed everyone around me just getting up and going to the bar asking for help so I know it wasn't just me. read more

I last reviewed Riverview Restaurant and Marina in 2017 and gave it three stars. Now, it's better and the food is great. We had two-piece catfish dinners. We have been there several times in the past year and we enjoy it. Our waitress was Abby, who was new and did a nice job. We always go early so we can get a seat by the windows looking out over the river. There were a couple of big boats tied up at the dock which we enjoyed looking at. The only thing to watch for is the way that they sell a mixed drink. My companion usually gets a vodka tonic. The waitress will ask you if want it in a short glass or tall. The tall is a double, but they don't tell you that. The first time she got the tall glass and the cost was $25.00! Even a single is $12.69, only two dollars less than a catfish dinner. The turnip greens and okra are perfect. The prices are decent and you can't beat the ambience, it's right in the Cumberland River. read more

I love the clam strip basket. They used to have a salad bar but not anymore since covid. Still though, always fresh salad.. White beans are amazing! Always looking for somewhere new and hadn't known much about Ashland City. We found this gem overlooking the Cumberland River. Great seafood! My wife had crab cakes and I had the NOLA BBQ shrimp, which was very much like what I've had when in NOLA. There is a patio with an outdoor bar. Great waitstaff. What an amazing find in Ashland City just a short 30 minute drive from downtown. On the river so the ambiance is breathtaking and so peaceful. The outdoor patio dining space was so relaxing wirh the view is the water and the bridge. Boats coming and going as you can tie up in their dock. Big barges going down the river too. They even had twinkle lights when it got dark. The food was absolutely divine! The service was top notch! Our server was Cat and she was the best! She made suggestions based on our dietary restrictions and was spot on! Their "pork loin/grilled pork chop was so tender and flavorful. The grilled shrimp tasted fresh and cooked perfectly. The sides were paired perfectly with a huge hot baked potato, slaw, white beans, hush puppies and green beans. We even splurged wirh their famous chocolate cake. We will be back! The turnip greens tasted like they came from a can, or they were old. The Cole slaw was good. The catfish was good but not great. Our waitress, Hannah was pleasant and very accommodating. I love this place. I like to sit by the window and watch the birds. There are pictures done by local artists that change from time to time. The food is like home! Makes you feel comfortable and warm inside. The staff are kind and some know how to make you laugh or keep up with your family member that has all the jokes. LOL good people and good good!!!! It is a nice summer sunny early afternoon and I miss the water so I decided to take the hour drive to Ashland city, a place. I've never visited since I've lived here in Tennessee and I stumbled across Riverview restaurant and I couldn't be more pleased! I had a nice table overlooking the water and it's so tranquil and quiet it's fantastic. The inside is busy and bustling, which tells me I made a good choice. Getting fried clam strips and crabcakes I am more than pleased sitting outside on the wood deck. You can sort of transport yourself to the clam bars in the northeast. Obviously it's on a lake so I'm not quite the same but the kindness of the servers in the welcoming atmosphere can be beat!! southern hospitality, and charm definitely on display from the second. You walk in the door my first trip. I'm without a doubt not my last I will be coming here. Frequently beautiful place for alfresco experience... A+. read more

We ate at Riverview about 2 weeks ago and it was one of the worst meals we have ever had. The only thing fit to eat was the slaw. The catfish had been sliced so thin that all you could taste was the batter. The fish was so thin you could probably see through it and the white beans were mush. We will never go back. read more

This place is popping on a Friday night. Expect southern comfort food with a casual, lodge cafeteria-esque ambience. It's right by the river so if the weather is nice, I'd recommend sitting outside. The view is lovely. Food wise, I recommend the combo of here you can pick either two or three mains with two sides. I was pleasantly surprised by the pork loin, which was tender and flavorful. The fried okra came in a generous portion and the crab cake was small but loaded with flavor. The slaw is mayo based and on the sweeter side. Green beans were very flavorful as well. The loaded potato is definitely loaded with toppings and very filling. The bam bam shrimp is mayo heavy, sweet with a tiny kick. The banana pudding felt more like a trifle than a pudding. You can really taste the taste the wafers, which is a fun texture. Service was good and food was solid. read more

The sides, in my opinion, were of the buffet/cafeteria/canned variety. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Some dessert options looked tempting as did drink options. Food quality is excellent -- most everything is handcrafted in the kitchen. Location is nice -- nestled along the West side of the Cumberland River across the bridge from downtown Ashland City. Service team is well trained and work well together -- starting drink orders until waitperson is free. Catfish is the centerpiece of the menu -- but we veered towards the shrimp dishes which were pretty dang good! Adult beverages are available. Out riding our bikes one Saturday band stopped in for lunch. The folks were nice and sitting on the deck with a view of the river was relaxing after a few hours of riding. The food was spot on, there was 7 of us and no one was disappointed. The only disappointment was we didn't have room to try more items off the menu. My sister and I ate here for the first time back in November on a cold, windy day. We wanted to sit outside and didn't regret it, as the view of the river is quite peaceful. Our server was very charismatic and attentive. We both ordered the catfish and shrimp plate with two sides. All of it was delicious except the white beans that weren't seasoned enough (per the sister). The catfish and hush puppies were very flavorful and decadent. For dessert, we split a hot fudge cake that could have used a bit more fudge sauce. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal, nice ambience, and great service.
