Disappointed by my experience…read more Definitely will not be using again - and I would recommend others find a mom and pop storage company, or a company owned by individuals who see other individuals as human beings. I had a storage unit for 8 months at the rate of $185 per month. When it finally came time to move into my new place and retrieve my things from storage, it was the first week of the 9th month of storing my belongings at storage sense. I assumed there would be a prorated cost for moving out three weeks early- as there have been at every other storage facility I have ever used. (I am 60- I've used plenty.) I swept and dusted the unit prior to moving out, leaving it sparkly clean to ensure I could get that $138 refund allowance. As you probably guessed- I am writing this review because I did not get a prorated cost. Wether or not these things are company policy, it makes a massive difference in regards to securing long term customer relationships. In customer service, when a representative or manager meets a customer with understanding and can recognize an area where you can lose a small amount of money in order to establish a returning customer, it goes a long way- and actually benefits the company in the end. For example- now I have a load of seed for work that needs to be stored for 3+ years starting next month. Can you guess where I'm not going? The businesses I have frequented for 40+ years have made thousands off of me, near to millions. Rest assured that I'll never use this company again nor recommend it to anybody. Hell- I'll drive an hour and 20 just to give my money to individuals I like and respect - and feel respected by. And get this- These sons of bitches have rats too!

I rented a 5x5 unit from them but upon even moving in, even stepping foot in this facility, I realized I needed a larger unit. I called to see if I could be changed to a larger unit and was told that I'd have to just pay for BOTH units for the following month and then "move out" of a unit I have NEVER EVEN MOVED IN TO. I decided that I'd go with a different facility completely at this point and asked for my account to be closed to which I was again told I'd have to "move out" in person... MOVE OUT OF A FACILITY IVE NEVER BEEN TO?! About two weeks ago someone reached out to me about my unit saying it was red tagged or something to that nature. I said once again, I've never been to this facility, I've never been in the unit and I asked to stop being contacted and billed for this weeks ago. The man I spoke with asked if they had my "permission" to access to the unit to confirm it's empty. I told him that I don't even know how to access the unit so sure! have at! 3 days later I'm charged for the unit. The first person I spoke to said that they could see id never been there and could see that it was confirmed empty. They disconnected and when I called back I got "Darian"... she said that I won't be charged after this month but they have to "confirm" I've "moved out" so that's why I was charged again. You're joking. Everything is electronic... you know that I've NEVER been there and it doesn't take a week to determine whether I've moved out or not when I have quite literally NEVER moved in. I have disputed this with my bank and the bank is getting kickback. The charge is minimal but it's the principal of this. I'm going to pursue legal action if the charge is not reversed and I've already reported them to the BBB. Charging people for services you aren't providing them is illegal and trying to convince them that you need all this time to confirm x, y & z may work on someone who doesn't understand that all of this is electronic but it doesn't work on me. It's not bad enough y'all have had INSIDE JOB theft? You want to continue the bad reputation by charging people for things they aren't even receiving? I went with another facility and have had nothing but the BEST customer service and EASY payments, move ins, access, etc. save yourself the stress and do not even risk working with a facility that's this scummy.

There is a "manager" on site, but who knows what he does. He doesn't help the customers. My rent more than tripled in the last couple of years. Out of nowhere I got an email that said my storage unit was found unsecured. I just moved to a different (smaller, less expensive) unit a month prior. When I called to try and get some answers, nobody answers and I leave a message. I also sent a reply email. Someone finally called me back a couple of hours later and explained that my unit was likely locked open. They put a lock on my unit and the email said I was being charged for it. I go over to my unit to investigate, and what a runaround! First, I get there and my original lock is nowhere to be found. So I go back to the main office. I then get told that they know nothing about my lock and that I probably had a break in. I go back over to my unit to look at the contents and nothing appears to be disturbed. Meanwhile, I have to use the password key pad for each entry and exit, and the new explanation makes even less sense. I purchase yet another lock from them via virtual assistant. So very frustrating that I can't just talk to a person in person. It's a huge waste of my time. When I asked why they have a manager on site the assistant said they are there to clean the property. Sounds pretty cush to me. I'm not planning on staying there much longer. Don't rent a storage unit here.

Rent increases are ridiculous. Wanted insurance removed as we had other insurance that covered our…read moretools and materials being stored. Notified them more than once last year to remove the insurance, we were then sent a document via email that someone had already electronically signed. We did not sign that document. Finally found an available unit brand new 10x35 which is 5 ft bigger than the one we had with Extra Space storage. Bigger unit elsewhere for 212.00 per month when Extra Space was charging 387.00 per month for a 10×30. Still had 5 days left that were paid for, cleaned the unit out yesterday and took timestamp photos of as well as informed the manager at 1:30 yesterday. She didn't close it out in the system. Receive email this morning stating we have a payment due of 387.00 Stay away. Crazy high prices. Shady practices. Will be filing formal complaint with corporate. CFPB and BBB
