I had a small 5 x 10 storage unit on the 3rd floor. Over a little over 2 years, the price almost doubled. During this time, the time the office was actually staff drop greatly. At least one of the elevators were down at times, and I usually only went and 6 times a year to take stuff in and out. The climate control met it didn't go below freezing or above 100. By the end of my time, the flatbeds were locked up most of the time and you had to leave you license to even use. But since the office was closed most of the time I was there, who could you do that with. Glad I could move to a place I didn't need this anymore. read more

I want to take to take a minute and shout out Qiara at the Farmington Hills location off of 9 mile. She made having to move my parents stuff into a storage unit after their death much more bearable. She made sure I felt supported and understood how the process worked and what size I needed to hold all of their stuff. Then when I needed the lock replaced she didn't hesitate to help. She went out of her to make sure I got a key even if it wasn't her scheduled time to work. She did whatever she could to make it easier on me. I appreciate her more than she'll ever know. read more

PREDATORY, AVOID. They raised my monthly charge by $40 after 3 months. They will hook you with a lower rate then raise it by 25% when you're moved in and moving out will be difficult. My parents are low income and storing their furniture, spending that extra money is hard. Don't fall for it. read more

I am so mad I'm literally shaking. I just opened an account a week ago, and even prepaid my rent months in advance. My gate code never works. I drive all the way here with a truck full of stuff and the code doesn't work after 6pm. Customer service is awful. I've not met a business that is this poorly run. They didn't even attempt to make this right the last time it happened and now 3 days later, here we are again with wasted money on a truck and gas and I cannot access the gate. If you like to actually get service for your money, do not come to this place. Reserved it online, and when I went in the person behind the desk wouldn't get up out of her chair to do anything. She didn't tell me how to get to my unit, or which door I should use. The next day when I tried to start loading into the unit, I went around to the back of the building where my unit was located. The code wouldn't let me in the door. So I went back around and ask her about it and she said, "why did you use that door. You should've been wanting to go in the first floor." I told her "you didn't tell me where I was supposed to go to get to my unit to begin with. How was I supposed to know that was a first floor entry? "When I contacted corporate office, they told me they don't give money back. I even asked to be moved to another location. I was told I just lost my money and would have to start over in one of their other locations. So, don't expect customer service. They are going to take your money and leave you hanging. The workers were rude and snide. Don't think you're going to get customer service there. Also, The building was rundown and dirty. I would give them no stars if that was an option. read more

This facility is older but we got a great rate (see below for tip on searching) and needed a temporary space as we buy a second home, so we rented storage space. We haven't had a storage unit in a long time so if you're in the same boat, tips below may prove helpful. 1. They require you to buy their $20 cylinder lock (valued at $10) unless you have one that fits their units. We had brought a high-quality lock with us but it wasn't a cylinder lock, so if you're frugal, get the specs and buy your own in advance so you can get a refund when you move in. Otherwise at move-in you will find the over-priced lock waiting in your unit. If you open the box, you own it. Perhaps I wouldn't have minded paying for their lock if they didn't make such a big profit on it. 2. Mgmt team at this facility doesn't live on site so it was odd trying to catch someone. The person on duty when we did finally catch someone said she wasn't as familiar w the facility. Service didn't seem to be a top priority. 3. Download the app to your phone as it will allow you to use your phone for access instead of the code. 4. Check the online rates daily. We had made a reservation but not yet closed out for one price, and within days saw a rate that was $30 lower so check often.we canceled our first reservation and opted for the same unit for $30 less each month. 5. We found their other supplies (boxes, etc) to be very over-priced too. Literally minutes away at the U-Haul Store we paid 33-50% less for items. Hope this helps someone that hasn't needed storage im awhile like us. read more

I HATE THIS PLACE!! nothing is every easy. They make you get a lock when you get a unit whether you need it or not. You can return at the front office but rarely is anyone ever at the front desk. They farm out one manager for multiple units and offer that as a response as if that's my problem. I pay enough for storage so hire someone. DO NOT USE! Had a storage unit at this location for about 2 1/2 to 3 months and storage fees. Rent went up twice in that span. When we put our stuff in storage three years ago, we paid $75/month, and there were carts to help you move your stuff. Three years later, the price is $90/month, and there are no carts. You're also not allowed to put your trash in the dumpster out back. Though the staff are helpful in person, when we call during business hours to ask questions, no one answers, and our messages go unreturned. Finally, the complex is being touched up, which is great except that it's not ventilated properly. So riding the elevator, for example, means you're breathing paint fumes in a tiny space. (I suspect there are stairs somewhere, but we couldn't find them, or any signs pointing to them.) Pros: our stuff is in good shape after three years Cons: variable customer service; declining amenities; increasing prices; hazardous fumes read more
