She was able to handle specially well a very difficult client who was going through a mental breakdown and was verbally very abuse. DO NOT STORE YOUR BELONGINGS HERE! We had our stuff here for 3 months before noticing that the ceiling is completely uncovered (it looks like management just placed blankets up to cover the hole) and out unit is absolutely infested with rats! We're here moving out right now. We already spoke to a manager about this before coming in to move. Upon arrival I went into the office so that I could show the manager the damages. She refused to even get up to look or to offer any sympathy for our trouble. I asked her name and stated my intention to file a complaint. This total psycho followed me out of the office and got up in my personal space, so I waved at her to show her- "hey, you're too close, you're in my personal space now" and she proceeded to scream at me AND my father, told me she would beat me up, proceeded to back me into a corner (this went on for several minutes) and told me "I get off at 5, let's settle this then" all directly under the camera. Yeah... I don't want to fight you, you psycho, I just want you to get up off your lazy butt and do your freaking job. This was totally uncalled for and inappropriate, not to mention illegal. I've been renting here for a year and my rent has almost doubled. Started at $106 and now am being charged $189. No improvements have been made over that time. Living on the road I entrusted my stuff to this location. A few months after I moved in and stored all my stuff. I Hear about a break in and my stuff was fine when I checked, a week later I receive a call that they changed the access hours and wouldn't tell me why. Later I am told that units near mine had been compromised, received this call 10 minutes before closing on the day before thanks giving I was told I need to come in on Friday so I spent the whole holiday worried. I come in the day after to find my key doesn't work on my lock, someone had replaced my lock. They didn't have a drill on location that day so I either had to buy my own or hire a lock Smith or wait until Tuesday. Not wanting to spend money I put my faith on waiting for a few days. I return and lo and behold after we drill out the lock. Everything I have ever owned, gone. Priceless sentiment just taken by someone who had access to another unit. They crawled up into the rafters and cut through the chicken wire ceiling. Broke into my car and stole everything store in that too. Well over 10k stolen. They do not have many cameras on location and the ones they do have don't really seem to have a sense of urgency. I just noticed my review has been taken down, and my warning to others who may also have their treasured items stolen are not being properly warned. So allow me to repost. Do not ever, ever store your items in this place. As you can see from the photo I posted, thieves don't even need tools to break into your unit. The policeman who came to take our statement told us a few things about this Public Storage, as well as this location: 1) None of the cameras work 2) People rent these units and live in them, which is supposed to be illegal. While we were there we saw a man with A FIRE BUILT IN HIS UNIT. 3) At night, with no cameras, thieves can easily climb from unit to unit on the rafters. Or they can use the method shown in my photo to get into units undetected. Nobody will know until the unit is entered. 4) The facility knows about these issues and does nothing about it. We had nearly ten thousand dollars worth of DJ and audiophile stolen. Not only would the facility managers not return our calls, but when I spotted the general manager (I can't recall her name three years later) walking with her clipboard and what appeared to be investors, I pulled up in my truck, asked if she was (insert her name here), and when she smiled and said she was, how could she help me, I let her know I was the woman who's unit had been broken into and I had some questions regarding the known security breaches at her facility. The investor's smiles fell. Hers faltered. She knew. They all know. Don't store your items here. And let's count the days before they pay to remove this review, too. read more

If you care about your belongings DO NOT rent a storage unit here. There are infinite cheaper ways to get your stuff stolen. Our unit was broken into twice with an estimated $3500 of music equipment and outdoor gear stolen. After the first break in, the staff was entirely unhelpful, refusing to acknowledge that our unit was even broken into. The latch (see picture) can easily be bent with a hammer to allow access to our unit. Staff would not replace the latch saying it was a standard latch and replacing it was a low priority. We only left our stuff there longer because the first shelter-in-place order. After 2nd break in we packed up and left, feeling like fools for leaving our belongings there to have more of them stolen. Overall the place is not secure and shady. My wife wouldn't go there alone. There is evidence of people living in the units, the halls smell like urine and cigarette smoke and I've seen people urinating in the storm drains outside. Almost every door on our hall had evidence of a break in and the staff shows no intention of addressing the issues. read more

Amber was a great manager to help us with a last minute storage need. She was friendly and fast! Good work!

I was suckered in with the $1 for the first month deal, but then they charge you a "processing fee" so my $1 first month was really $50. They also make you buy their insurance and even when you provide your own insurance they stipulate in their contract you are not allowed to have any "valuables, heirlooms, irreplaceable objects, or a combined value of more than $5000." They don't want you to use high security locks and asked me to remove mine and use one of their cheap locks that can be picked in seconds. My unit had chicken wire on the top making the ceiling only 8' tall, taking away a huge amount of storage compared to other places. They clearly have a rat issue as my unit also came with three rat poison bags in it. There is a small dumpster in the back but it is always overflowing with garbage and left behind items. The final draw was my coming to get my stuff after work and finding that the gate is locked at 6pm! I realized that the office was closed, but I didn't realize that the gate would be locked and you'd have no access to your unit!! Not being able to get into the unit until 9:30am or after 6pm makes the unit worthless to me and probably anyone that works normal work hours. Avoid them and go look at some of the smaller regional companies instead of this corporate monster. read more

On February 11, 2022 I went to Public Storage to see the location of the storage and to take a look at the unit. This particular storage located in Milwaukee, OR on 3701 SE International Way Milwaukie, OR 97222 (503) 468-5954. Once I arrived I was met by an employee Cammie. As soon as she saw me, she said she remembered me somehow. I said to her that's perhaps a year or so ago I wanted to rent a unit at another Public Storage location, and I tried to talk with her on the phone about the rent details. Indeed, at that time I wanted a unit located at the address 11800 SE 40th Ave, Milwaukie, OR 97222. The person I tried several times to speak on the phone was the same Cammie. Well, I never rented a unit from Cammie a year or so ago. Because when I called there and tried to speak with her, she abruptly hung up the phone on me. I called back and asked her why she hung up on me, she replied that she didn't understand what I was saying. I replied that when people don't understand what another person said - they simply ask them to repeat that, but don't hang up the phone! Especially in a business place.. (I have a slight foreign accent, and this reminded me of another instance when at the Post office a customer next to me told me to go back to where I came from... So I recognize the type and the pattern of that behaviour..) So, that was my first shocker trying to rent a unit at Public storage with Cammie. Still, at the time, I wanted to give Cammie another chance, so I attempted to make another phone call for information. When I called, no one picked up the phone, so I proceeded to leave a message. As I began leaving the message, my message was suddenly cut off, so I wasn't able to leave it. I proceeded to leave the message 2 more times, but as soon as I started speaking, the recording would be cutt off each time. Ultimately, I ended up having no time and unable to record my message. Needless to say, I never rented a unit from Cammie at Public storage at that time. When I was contacted by the middle man company Spare Foot later, and they asked me about my experience with Public storage, I told them how I was treated there, and why I never rented from Public storage. I told them that my experience was a clear case of DISCRIMINATION. So, back to now, February 11, 2022. When I reserved a unit at PS at this OTHER Milwaukee location, I was hoping that that person Cammie won't even be there, because it was a different location. But there she was! Regardless, I asked Cammie to show me the unit that I had reserved for $36. She said she was going to she me the unit, and it was $61. I said, no, I came to see the unit I RESERVED and I won't pay more than my reserved unit was. She impatiently retorted that she didn't know I came to actually rent it. I replied I never said I came to pay for it that day, but only to take a look at it, and I would rather complete rental and payment online. She again was impatient, short with me, pushy and seemingly couldn't wait to get rid of me... I never disrespect another person, I am a therapist and I work in a profession of helping people. When I was growing up, I was defending those who were too weak to defend themselves from the attacking bullies, and when I am treated like garbage - I will stand up for myself and I will push back. So, I stood up for myself and asked Cammie why she was again showing this attitude towards me that was rude, impatient, unhelpful, disrespectful. I reminded her of my previous experience with her when she hung up the phone on me and refused to even talk, and then weren't letting me leave a message either by cutting it off... I told her that her treatment of me had been disrespectful and discriminatory, and I am not going to stand for it. She ordered me to leave the office. I refused. She called the police. When the police arrived, I told them what had been transpiring during my attempts to deal with Cammie. The officers listened and then stated to me that they saw no crime that took place and so they were leaving. They also stated to me that she was rude to me, but that, unfortunately, rudeness at a workplace isn't considered a crime. The police officers were understanding and sympathetic. They advised me to not continue conducting any business with Cammie, also because she didn't want to do it with me. However, at this point having any kind of contact with her was out of question for me. So, again, I was treated like garbage by this person at Public storage. I felt disrespected and DISCRIMINATED against. Again. She did everything to effectively block me from renting a unit without explicitly saying the words. I am appalled, and I will be leaving a public review accordingly. Does Public Storage condone this type of behaviour by their employees? I do hope that's not the case. PS. I purchased a unit today, came to unload my full car of stuff and the gate is broken and I'm being told they have no clue when it'll be fixed and that there's no access to the units till then. Seems crazy that there's no way to manually open the gate, and makes me loose all trust that I'll have access to my unit when I need it. it's also in a very seedy part of town and definitely didn't feel very safe being there alone. first and last day renting from this place. read more

Public storage is dishonest in their promotions and does not honor them. They are greedy and will raise rents by $100 right after you've moved all your belongings in. The staff does not know anything and are not capable of helping with anything except absolute basic things. Don't get scammed just use a different company. read more

Not terrible for the neighborhood! The manager and associates there are friendly and helpful. They understand any concerns you have. Storage units are pretty good and secure, however there were some homeless tweakers coming around and just hanging out in their storage unit the last week I was there moving stuff out. Management knew and were keeping their eye on them, they weren't rude or persistently asking for money though so it was fine, I just didn't feel safe to be there by myself. Overall, I'm happy I stored my stuff here, it was pretty affordable. read more

The worst kind of corporate shysters! I reserved a 10x10 drive-up unit for $125/mo. When I got there, the clerk on duty tried to rent me a hallway unit instead. I showed her the reservation, she said there must be some error, and I asked to speak to the manager. The manager said the best they could was to give me someone else's reserved 10x10 unit for $132/mo. When I asked why she couldn't just override the price to give me what I had reserved, she said the computer won't let her do that. The clerk rented me the new unit without showing it to me first. When I got in, I noticed it looked smaller than 10x10 and measured it. Sure enough, it was only 9x10. The clerk called a different manager to ask him about that. His response: "the size is only approximate, like it says on your lease". I pointed out that 90 sq ft is not even close to 100 sq ft. I told him I'd be willing to rent it for approximately the quoted rate, as in 90%. Like the other manager, he told me the computer won't let him change the price. This company is run by robots, people. Buyer beware! When I told the manager I was willing to take my business elsewhere, he said, "Fine, go ahead. Someone else will rent it." I told him to go #$% himself and that I wanted a refund. He said they would refund all my costs, which they did. Bottom line: if you are going to rent from them, make sure you thoroughly inspect your unit before signing or paying money. Mine was also missing the 4' fluorescent light bulb and the pull-cord for the door. And make sure you have your own lock & renter's insurance so you're not stuck paying their premium rates. These are the kind of people who give Corporate America a bad name. OR: maybe just own less stuff so you don't need them at all? I'm going to consider that myself. Meanwhile, I've had a very positive rental experience with A-1 Storage on SE 7th & Main. I'd recommend you go with them instead. read more

After 8 years of storing our items here, we are finally out. Stumbling upon people living in the units (door ajar, mattress on floor with a hotplate next to it), people smoking pot, finding the door frame of our unit splintered from someone trying to crowbar in, it was beyond time to pull our items out. We had brought these issues to the attention of the staff over the years as it would pop up, but now that they changed the hours so that it was impossible to get there after work, and then charging more consistently every year, it didn't seem fair to us. Upon clearing out, we had made the correct decision as we noticed that the exterior door alarm code lock box had been broken off, and replaced with a metal plate, thereby not allowing for any kind of security. For the amount of money that they charge for units, they absolutely can afford to have corporate pony up the cash for cameras, and at least a security guard. I'm by no means saying that the staff was ever unpleasant, but if their hands are tied to not invest in their business, sorry, but I'm out. read more

I've stored my things at this facility for about 4 years now. They've always been very nice. Yesterday I forgot the card that had all the entry codes to get into my storage unit. The lady that worked there saw that I was stuck at the gate and came to assist me. I told her I forgot my access info and she brought me inside, checked my I.D. and was super friendly and helpful. She answered all my questions and is very knowledgeable about her property and is very eager to have a stellar location, having just taken it over. If you are looking for honesty, friendliness and a clean safe facility, this is the place to go! She genuinely cares about customer satisfaction. And this lady takes some serious pride in her property. On any given day, you'll find her walking the entire location, picking up and sweeping up trash. Best Public Storage experience I've had so far. Avi was the property manager who helped me and she was quite pleasant. This property is clean, functional, and convenient. I did feel pressured to get insurance. My advice is to check with your insurance policy and see if offsite storage is covered. If so, great! Ask yourself, "Are the items I'm storing worth insuring in the event of a fire, flood, theft, etc?" If the answer is no, then why are you paying to store them in the first place? read more

At this location I dealt with Randy, and even when he wasn't able to answer a question for me he got on the phone immediately to contact someone who knew how to solve my questions. Not the greatest location in Portland but everything worked out very well for me. No leaks and no mold on my furniture while stored. Automatic payments worked out nicely. Most importantly, I always worked with Avi who was the nicest sweetest person and made the process painless. She basically runs the place and is doing an awesome job. Watch out for Debbie. She is a snake. She will tell you over and over insurance is required by the lease contract. She will tell you to pick one of the New Hampshire Ins. Co. policies because it is required. It is even highlighted for you, as she says, "sign here, here, etc." When you tell her, "I have insurance for my items." she does not back off. The insurance form says insurance from New Hampshire Ins. Co. is not required in order to store your goods. Watch yourself or you'll sign up for something you don't need. Don't forget about the $22 Administration Fee they don't tell you about until you get there. Or the $17.99 lock they are happy to sell you, and not tell you to bring one. read more

I really like this Public Storage facility for a number of reasons - it is air conditioned in the summer and working in the halls is much easier when it is so nice and cool. There were always available carts for me to use to help move things, so I did not have to bring a hand truck. This Public Storage is lin my neighborhood. It is like visiting the local grocery store or bodga where everyone knows you. My day is always a little brighter after I have drooped into the office for a qucik chat with Avi the manager. Avi is more than pleasnat however. Never saw staff as on top of it as the staff at this facility. My phone started to ring as I was wrapping up the online reservation, and it was already Debbie calling to facilitate the next steps. For check-in, I was assisted by the equally on-top-of-it Avi, who explained everything clearly, including some helpful tips, found me a unit that met my requirements, and wrapped the whole biz up in a timely fashion.
