My first time renting a storage space and was lured in by the $1/first month deal, and additional 15% off every month's rent for a 10'x15' space. When I made my reservation a $22 administration fee was suddenly tacked on. I figured of course there was always going to be some kind of hidden fee even though the deal initially sounded too good to be true. But little did I know once I got to the office to fill out my paperwork that I was also going to be charged $17.99 for a cylindrical lock fee, as well as required to purchase insurance (I chose the least coverage) for another $11/month. The guy that helped us, Matthew was pretty nice. The overall property was close, our storage space a bit hard to navigate to because it's situated inside a building with narrow hallways and dim lighting (no cameras inside, I hope I'm safe if moving in the middle of the night...) But largely the biggest issue I had with Public Storage was there website's advertisement of the deal, no where did it say that there would be so much extra fees. And on top of that, Matthew only talked about the administration fee when we got to the office. And I had mentioned to him this was our first time renting a storage space. He didn't mention the insurance fee (that is required) until we were already signing the paperwork. And the cylindrical lock fee was never mentioned until I asked him when the total came out to be more than I originally calculated. I understand they need to add all these fees to make money and operate the place.. but it would be nice to not "trick" your customers into coming onto the property before you tell them about all the extra fees they also have to pay. If all those fees were mentioned beforehand, I'm sure I would've had a much better experience. And for those with budgets because you're already spending a lot of time moving, by the time you find out about all these fees, you are already standing in the office with 3/4 of the paperwork done.. so what are you going to do ... read more

I had forgotten my lock and he was really nice to lend me theirs until I came back with mine. Finished off by thoroughly explaining the paperworks to me and I was out of there in ten minutes. The location is right off the fwy, so it's convenient. Lynne was very patient and very helpful in helping us pick the right size unit. We were able to get 50% off the first month's rent (these deals are random), lucky us. The unit was clean, you need a code to get in, and you must purchase insurance and the lock. This was my first time needing a storage space and I was a little worried that I might be taken advantage of #1 I'm a younger and women #2 I really didn't have much knowledge about renting a storage. The area was industrial and made me a little skeptical but when I shown around storage facility it was very clean and secured which put my mind at ease. I started renting a storage space around two and a half months ago. I made my reservation online and got a superfast courtesy response. Upon reaching the premise, I was greeted by James and was shown at least 3 storage spaces. James took the time to understand my needs and concerns. Being a first time renter, I greatly appreciate his recommendation and his cheerful manner which puts everything at ease. The premise and the storage spaces are clean and well lit, hand carts/trucks are available to be borrowed and returned during business hours. My first time Renting from them was very easy and happy i did. Returning the space was even easier and less then a few minutes.

To be honest the review is closer to a 4.7, but I'll give them a 5 since it's not fair to knock them down to a 4 for that. The place has good accessibility, good rates, and good storage units, and I like the employees there as well. Really the only big ding against them is the lack of power. Apparently some tenant that practically lived in the units blew a fuse, and they have since not replaced the fuse or provided power to the complex's units. Other than the lack of power, I recommend the place for storage. Good place to store. read more

Misleading advertisement~!!! They put $68 for a 9 x 20 on the website, so that I call and confirm about it. A guy pick up and stated it is a storage unit, and I confirm with him one more time to see if it is just a parking space, and he said it is not. So I reserve on the internet and get a unpaid leave and try to have everything done within one day. However, they came up a story saying that the new employee made a mistake and told me they do not have any 9 x 20 storage and ask me to go to other public storage for $242. This is totally misleading and trying to rid off the customer. I will not go to public storage any more, I rather pay little extra to go somewhere else. read more

First month promotion applies to VERY FEW UNITS. Mostly a scam to get you to come in. Property manager, James, is unwilling to assist customers with concerns of any kind, and District Manager, Kamisha, is rude, incompetent, and arrogant. Public Storage rented me a space that was supposedly 7.5x10. It was smaller than 6x8. During check-in, I witnessed a very angry and flustered James be reamed during a corporate conference call, due to dissatisfaction with the property. He was in a vile mood, and every question I asked or request I made, was met with push-back and rude/short responses. After charging me for a month, plus admin fee and their proprietary lock, I discovered the unit wouldn't hold the furniture intended to be stored. They refused to upgrade the unit or refund the money paid. I filed a chargeback with my bank and went to another company that treated me much better, was honest about their space sizes, and let me know this was a common complaint about Public Storage. read more

Wanted to store my RV. I called to make a reservation. Casey tells me it's a 9 by 20 space. I thought great and friendly service. So we pick up our RV and drive there with another car. The worker put me in a golf cart and took me to the available space. It was a 5 by 12. The way the other cars were parked I don't even think my Civic could fit. Huge waste of time for me with workers that don't know their information. read more

We rented there for over five years for storage for our home based business. When we first rented the storage place it was clean facility and staff very helpful. Each year the quality of how the business is maintained kept going down and down. And the staff changed over the years. Vandalism by homeless people living in the bathrooms happens all the time. Toilets and water overflowing seemed like a regular occurrence. We noticed our metal filing cabinets and metal products we were storing starting to get rusty over the last 1.5 years. And the climate control was no longer maintained. With each year the facility was going down and they kept raising the rents. We finally move our business to another facility. read more

I had been a customer at this facility from 2006 to July 26, 2015. For the most part, the staff at the facility was always on point. One of my only gripes was that the restrooms are not well-kept and oftentimes are very dirty....makes you wish Fabreeze made hand-grenades that explode with freshness! Due to the fact that my needs had to change, Public Storage left me no choice but to move out. As a longtime customer who was ultimately made to feel unappreciated, it was time to take my business elsewhere. But before I left, I met a wonderful and helpful worker named Tiana. This lady took Customer Service to the next level the moment I shared my challenges with her. I was recently injured in a car accident and moving very slowly. I knew I needed use of a dolly but wouldn't make it back in time before they closed at 5:00pm, but Tiana immediately said to me, "It's okay...I'll wait for you if you think you can make it back by 5:30pm." Little did she know, she made my day by being so helpful and friendly!! Honestly, people like Tiana are a rare breed of employees these days and, if it wasn't for her, I would've had to spend an extra day moving out. If Public Storage doesn't acknowledge this woman as an asset by promoting her to a higher level, she will end up with another company who sees the value that she deserves!
