Came today to the storage to find out that an attempt was made to burglarize our storage unit ( unit at 611 2nd street). The manager on site, Robert reported that several units were burglarized and items stolen from. Access at the front to the unit is only for approved customers which means that customers are stealing from other units. Why is this corporation, that makes millions from its customers, neglecting to install surveillance cameras in the main corridors and next to the elevators? I do hold them responsible and so should all others. read more

** This review is based on it's moving supplies and policy: Yes .. it gets 5 stars. My 1st visit was to gather info about a month before I moved. I was given some advice and a pricing sheet to reference which came in handy for budgeting purposes. About a week before I moved, I came back to purchase boxes and moving supplies. Everything I needed was available and the manager, Brandon was very helpful as were the other employees, Miaa and Tangie. I ordered 50 boxes in order to get the 30% discount, which saved me a bundle. I also bought packing paper as well. Upon the advice of the manager, I bought more smaller boxes which came in handy with kitchen ware and fragile items. I ended up coming back and buying more packing paper, packing tape, and smaller boxes, as I underestimated what I initially needed, however, in the end, I had several unused leftover larger boxes, as well as some unused leftover tape and packing paper ... not to fear ..... as promised, whatever materials I didn't use, I was able to return and get a full refund on with no hastle whatsoever .. just had to fill out a small form and put down the reason for return as 'didn't use' ... and the refund was credited back to my credit card within a few days ... that's what I call good business. Overall my experience was exceptional ... the mangager and employees were all very helpful and I would utilize this business again for future moves. WARNING - Worst Storage in the US. Pay the highest price and the staff will treat you like garbage. They say they open until 6pm. The staff tries to leave early and not let you in even if they are open until 6pm. It's very hard to load and unload Warning go into the office and you will be welcomes by the most meanest staff I have ever met. read more

The hours are odd, the rent is up, but a good deal for the buck, has a loading dock. a lot of bums use this location, the main manger is a bit creepy and has ocd, but is nice, though a bit possibly trans-phobic Got a refferal from the LGBT center, at an event, its a good deal, the people are a bit strange, but nice, pay your rent on time, follow the rules, and you will be ok. My friend and I went to see if they had spaces available. We were immediately greeted and helped by Mariecea who was such a big help. She was energetic and happy to assist and answer any questions we had. We looked at several spaces and Mariecea remained patient as we asked her a bunch of questions. The service was great. The place itself is fine. I mean, it's a storage unit what do you expect? Two cons though: Parking can sometimes be a nightmare because of the weird layout of the place. Rent increases are getting ridiculous. This time around we have a $20/month increase. We've seen a steady jump at least every 6 months since we began renting 2 years ago. Now up over $50 from what we paid in the beginning. Any higher and we might as well just move to a bigger apartment. read more

Cons: Staff is rude and impatient. The building closes at 6pm and one staff member threatened to lock me and my vehicle in the facility if I couldn't finish packing and leave immediately...it was 6:01 and I left the facility at 6:03. A staff member badgered me to leave the facility as I idled in the exit lane for a few minutes taking a phone call even though no one was behind me. She then proceeded to write down my license plate #. Staff could not open the office on time due to a faulty key meaning I had to hand carry a couch to my vehicle. Parking is limited and often already occupied. Pros: Great location for Soma, FiDi, South Beach, and Mission Bay residents. Relatively quiet street and easy access. Public Storage Scottsdale, AZ Advertised $1 First month rent + up to 20% off. Instead of first month's rent for $1 I was charged full amount. When trying to resolve this with office person, she was rude, condescending, talked over me, hung up on me twice. I spoke with the district manager and he would do nothing. Public Storage is known for bait and switch. Thankfully their high insurance rip-off has been exposed by the State of California. Check out other reviews for Public Storage - their average rating is 1 out of 5. They don't even deserve a 1. They are a corporation based on dishonesty; they are totally uncaring. I have never been as poorly treated by service people as I have at this company. The manager-whom I recall being named Bill or Bob- of all employees, was the hallmark of horrendous customer service. Not only was I verbally accosted and cursed at by this jerk, but he repeatedly accused me of living in my storage unit and even made attempts to come in and scrutinize my boxes and belongings. It was unbelievable. His subordinate employees were actually very nice, courteous and friendly, and I have little complaint with them, but the guy who manages the facility is toxic, abusive, and completely beyond civil decency. Customer service basically said that they could care less that I have been there for almost 11 years and the fact that I am self employed business owner and unemployed for nearly 5 months due to Covid-19 is meaningless to them. This kind of business should really be forbidden. First, they tell everyone it is $1 the first month; when I signed, I paid $83.99 between the lock, the administrative fees, the insurance and 10 boxes for counted for $14 out of the $84. For the lock, I had one in my car, and they didn't tell me I was paying for the one on the unit's door. They said: "it's all yours". When I was signing the contract, and after they had the person on training repeating the same transaction 3 times, then the manager redoing it for the forth time, I read finally the details of the bill before signing, the last thing I wanted to do is to restart the paperwork in order to remove the price of the lock. I didn't even say: why are doing this to me! Then we have an online account; and when I looked at my account few days after I started, I saw amount due for the following month starting the middle of the current month, which is very scary. I didn't sign up for automatic payment. Who does that? Putting the amount due for the next month more than 2 weeks before the end of the month like if you were staying forever. The unbelievable story is about late fees for a business that makes a lot of money and makes nothing to help costumers losing theirs. My mother died suddenly the second week of June in France I had to go there for her funerals for two weeks. With the problems, and the work overload upon my return , I forgot to pay my dues on time ($185 per month). At the same time, they never send any reminder at anytime until after July 7th. I payed my month late and I saw that I had late fees of $34. I logged to my account and looked for a tab to explain the situation; such a thing doesn't exist on the website. I contacted the costumer service and explained my case and said that even United airlines reimbursed me my change return fees upon providing my mother death certificate. United Airlines even sent an email saying "so you can focus on more important things". Such a thing doesn't exist with 'Public storage. I left a message to the manager of the storage unit on Frederick's road in MD. She never contacted me back. I have paid $596 since April (and $34 today), it is not like I have paid a little. The costumer service told me today that I haven't been with them long enough so they can wave the fees. Guess what, after the end of this month, they will never see me again! A business that claims $1 the first month which is never $1, that never tells you what they are charging you for up front, that never send you any reminder by email about your due payments, nor your late payments until they are very late (after the 7th of the following month when no grace can be applied), that doesn't accept any exceptional circumstances, that doesn't return your calls, that considers that $600 that you put in their business are not enough money: this kind of business is a very bad one. read more

The staff needs to be FIRED. I expect a call from the owner, due to the horrendous treatment by the staff. We rent a $500 a month unit, and the male employee, Brandon, yelled and cursed at us (he used the F-word) continuously. The owner should not allow this behavior. He was in a rush to get out before closing time - 5pm on Saturday. By time, we we're out the door and on the street, it was 5:01pm. We did nothing wrong. GIVE YOUR $$ TO PEOPLE WHO DESERVE IT. UPDATE: I, in turn, received a negative comment on Yelp from Kim J. who works there. Bought their insurance then when I purchase my own insurance my rate was suppose to go down. It did for one month then they raised my rate by $14 per month the following month. I called the corporate office and they claimed they were within their legal rights to raise my rates. I told them I'm moving out. Brandon and Marie are professional, helpful and friendly. They run a 'tight ship" and I like it that way - and you will too: 1) Absolutely SECURE. You're assigned a unique code to access your unit. No funny business with folks roaming around if they don't have a code. 2) Kept CLEAN - Floors, office, parking, storage areas, restroom - always clean when I've been onsite. Yes, they have a restroom - for those long days of hauling and storing, that's a big plus. 3) Awesome LOCATION - For those living in SoMa, Mission Bay, FiDi. 4) Ample PARKING - There are at least 8 parking spaces inside the facility. The folks in the office will guide you to the best spot, knowing some folks will be onsite longer than others. In the eight years I have rented here, I have *never* had a problem with getting a spot inside the facility. 5)Variety of SUPPLIES (for sale) and flat bed TROLLIES (free) are available during their office hours. 6) HOURS - 6:00a is plenty early to gain access to the storage unit. For those complaining they get shooed out at 6:00p when the place closes - would you think twice about arguing with a retailer when they close? This is a professionally run business. For those who complain that there are no trash or recycling bins... can you imagine the mess they'd have on their hands, not to mention liability? I'd rather pay less for rent and take care of my own trash/recycling. read more

Stored my things here for two years. No complaints. The managers were always on the ball and my stuff was secure. Great location too. It can be a little tricky getting your things in and out if it's busy but that's really due more to the nature of the Soma area. My only suggestion would be to have after hours access. The place closes at 6pm and it would have been nice to have the option to go after work at times. But overall, good stuff. read more

I needed a place to store my things in the city, and this place happened to be pretty close to where I live. I came by and it wasn't too busy and the workers there helped me out as soon as I got there. I brought my own padlock for my storage unit but I'm not too sure if you have to buy or they give you one. For your convenience, they let you borrow out carts that you can use to roll your things into your unit. Overall, good service and they are glad to help you out! read more
