I move large boxes in and out of my units at least once a day. Israel is always more than helpful and has a key for a rental cart ready for me as soon as he sees me pull into the parking lot. I have rented storage units for more than 12 years and I have to say the staff at this location is fantastic not to mention the property is cleaner than most. I've moved several people into this facility. In my experience the staff tries to be accomodating, but the parking situation simply gets too out of hand at the end of the month and I've seen near fistfights over people getting blocked in. read more

I don't know why this has so many low ratings. I've had nothing but great service in the 1.5 years I had a unit and they are highly efficient. Easy to move in and easy to move out. Convenient times for entry and always someone there so I can get a dolly when I need to move large items. read more

But, they topped even themselves this week; I was a victim of fraud, and therefore my rent check bounced. Brandon, the manager, waived the usual $25 NSF fee when I explained the situation. Rude staff, especially manager! Hours are odd in that it clsoes at 6:00PM, so you really cannot use the facility after work. THere was a Channel 4 news report on a number of PS robberies with the $!.00 move in deal for first month, where people were doing the $1.00 deal and then robbing other units and storing the stolen goods in their new locker until they could get teh goods out. I immediately asked to se the manger to ask how they were addressing this problem and if htey had cameras on each floor, and he said only at the entry and was very defensive to me. read more

Don't trust the contract you sign will last any longer than the next new year, I've rented from them for a year and a half and they raise my rent $50 big ones every January. I now pay $100 more than when I moved in July of 2016. If I'd known I never would have moved my stuff into their locker. VERY BAD DEAL!!!!!!! read more

Here is my problem with Public Storage. I started having a storage unit in 2005. I thought my rate would be the same for everyone who signed up in the future for the same size unit. BUT NO! The loyal long term customers get the shaft. The rates continually change and promotions with substantially lower rates are posted on the the PS website. Thus....one must cancel their current contract and then sign up for the on-line deal and transfer all your belongings. Hopefully it is on the same floor...but not guaranteed. Thus if you pay $150 a month after one year that totals $1,800. But....it is very possible that someone else could find a rate at anytime that could be 1/2 that rate...say two years later. I understand supply and demand...but this makes your loyal customers really not get any reward for being long term. It is better to move around and shop for the best deal...especially if you easy to move belongings. Realize also that you must pay once again the $22 admin fee for your new space if you transfer by finding a better rate on-line. Also...you do not get the special $1.00 for the first month once again...that is only for new customers....new customers are defined as an entire household. I highly recommend that if you want to save sometime a substantial amount of money to constantly look at the PS website and see if there is a cheaper rate for the same size unit or if you can squeeze into a smaller unit....then do that. You might possibly save hundreds of dollars or thousands depending on your current size unit. read more

I have used this public storage for the last 3 years. I have periodically moved/added items to my storage unit. After removing several large items, I thought it was time to downsize the unit. Today I worked with Danielle who assisted me at Public Storage located on 2nd street. Danielle is a superstar! No doubt about it! When I met with her in the office, she was smiling and pleasant as I discussed closing one unit and opening a smaller one. She prepared the administrative information diligently - very little waiting and took me to the available unit. My husband and I worked for 4 hours emptying one unit and filling up another. It was exhausting. There were a few large wood pieces that had to be moved to close the unit - AND Danielle assisted me with moving them out! Incredible customer service! She noticed how thirsty I was - and went to her vehicle and gave me a bottle of water from her trunk! That is why I commented that she is a superstar. I kept thanking her over and over ---but I knew the best way to thank her was to give her a five star rating and let Public Storage management know that they have a superstar customer service employee! We just rented our new storage locker at the 2 nd St. Facility. Our consultant was Israel and he was great. Showed us a few sizes and we chose one and paid for it . Will be moving in this week . Following a recent move to San Francisco, I was in need of some additional storage space. On the advice of my movers, I went to the Public Storage facility at 611 2nd Street (location #25402). Never having set-up such an arrangement and needing to do so rather quickly, I was extremely pleased with the overall experience. Ann-Marie was awesome; she took the time to show me two different spaces and was very patient as she walked me through the contract and payment options. After completing all of the paperwork, Ann-Marie took me back up to my storage space to be sure that I knew how to find it and instructed me on how to be sure that the unit was locked and secure. read more

Total bait and switch. Notice online you are not given a confirmation #. Just press the hold button and wait for a call from property manager. No call. No email. Nothing. I held a 10 by 10 for $163 a month, first month half off only to find it disappeared the next day. It magically went up to $227, no discount. . The best they gave me was a 5 by 5 for nearly the same amount. Reserve in person or on the phone. I've had used car salesmen that were more honest. read more

I have been utilizing the Public Storage at 611 2nd St, SF, CA 94107 for several years and so far it has been excellent. That is, price is competitive, service has been great (very organized and helpful), place is kept very clean and secure. As someone else pointed out, if you go there in a vehicle when the traffic is heavy (like at rush hour) it can be a challenge getting in (getting out not so bad). As I mention in other posts, I do not think comments and/or reviews by people that do not identify themselves are valid. I have rented with Public Storage in the past and the service was better than I have experienced lately. So, a few months back I went to my storage garage at 11770 South West Frwy in Houston, TX to get my Christmas tree and decorations out. I made it there around 5:45 or so and got in the main gate just fine. My son and I finished up and proceeded to the gate at 6:02pm or so and wasn't able to get out. I was a little confused about why my gate code wasn't working. So as I keep fumbling around with the gate code I noticed the manager Eric getting into his car. I blow my horn and flash my lights to get his attention, and he speeds off like nothing was happening. I call the main number thinking I will be able to get a hold of someone, NO LUCK. I played around with EVERY number that popped up on google that was associated with public storage, NO LUCK. I had to end up call 911 (HPD) to have a unit to come out and get up out of the gate. Well, as I am waiting on HPD to arrive I continue to call around. I finally got a hold of someone at the California office and told her what was going on and she was just as confused as I was. Oooops the call drops! So I call back and now I am getting an after hours maiobox, at this point I AM PISSED! So I keep calling for about 10 minutes straight and FINALLY get a hold of someone else. I explain what happened and she laughs a little bit as she says "Seems like someone is playing a prank of you, your code has been deactivated. I will now reactivate your code". I tell her not to hang up until it opens. 45 minutes we were locked in this gate which caused me to be late for work and as a result I got written up. I am very disappointed with this place and I WILL NEVER RENT WITH PUBLIC STORAGE AGAIN!!!!!! read more
