I just moved out this month not even half ways thru the month, I had paid for the month ahead of time. I wasn't given a refund on the weeks not used. But that isn't even the reason for the 1 star. When I moved in to the unit measuring 10x30 I immediately realized the lock area was previously damaged. I let Jasmin know the unit was damaged before I even moved in my items, she promised it would get fixed and for me to leave her one of my storage keys so she could get someone out to fix it. Well over 6 months passed and even though I would remind her of the issue nothing was ever done. I asked for my extra key back and she always gave me an excuse for why to leave it there. So now that I finally moved out, not only did she keep my payment but also my key. Don't ever do business here, not worth it! read more

Santa here, Hi folks in San Jose. Just want to report another weird thing a Public Storage. There are going to make Christmas deliveries even harder since they now have shrunken the hours of access by 3 1/2 hours. Not sure why as there was no explanation on the postcard I received. They also conspicuously left the hours they are changing off the card, so I had to check my agreement, interestingly. Up until now, other than being extremely expensive, the district manger was a down to earth guy and we had a good conversation and the hours were workable. Now, it is going to extremely inconvenient. Do not rent a unit from this company. They have raise my rates twice now in under a year. I started at 268 for and now the have me at 324 a month with one days notice before payment is due. They will have you move in and than try and screw you out of being able to pay for your stored belongings. Also the girl who lives there is extremely rude. I definitely will be moving my belongings and never rent from any public storage again. I gave them a 1 because that is the lowest yelp will allow but they deserve a 0. read more

The storage facility is fine. My unit opens and the lock works. My complaint is the hours they are open. I mean 9:30 in the morning? Really? And then to close at 6 during the week and 5 on Sunday. When I questioned the hours of operations when I signed up, I was told that the on-site manager does not like waking up early. What a joke. And don't get me started on what they charge. A total rip off, but they got you because all the other Public Storage places are booked solid. Happy I can get out of there next month when we move. read more

Is it me or are all Public Storage branches this way? The staff (who don't seem too knowledgeable) are hardly around in the office to answer phone calls, etc., which is probably due to the extended lunch breaks they take! The property area wasn't too clean; leaves were scattered all around. They have this rule where you have no choice but to purchase one of their own rounded locks (even if you tell them you have your own). Lastly, surveillance cameras are lacking. They're only located at the entrances. If you want your items well protected in a clean environment, it's best to go to the storage facility with the green logo and has plenty of ExtraSpace! read more

ZERO stars - Your Belongings are NOT SAFE HERE Went back to get my belongings after not visiting for three years of storage( Total of almost 10 years ) at this location and there was a different (not mine) lock on my unit. All boxes were gone through and the items I valued were gone. The insurance denied my claim since there was no evidence of a break in. My stuff was stolen and a new lock was on the unit! I had a storage unit reserved I went in a few days before to check out the unit I was upset that the young Asian girl working there tells me "I'm sorry I canceled your reservation by mistake" why ? Really ? I would have listed her name but she had no name tag . I was upset because ONE I had a great price locked TWO so was upset because I confirmed it with the staff there the day before . After reading the Yelp reviews for this location maybe this was all a good thing . The homeless people walking around inside the property was a little unsettling . read more

I was traveling on vacation to India over Thanksgiving 2016 for a few days. Since I had no garage where to keep my car, I rented out a storage space. The car is a Honda Civic 4-door sedan, but it fitted perfectly inside the space! Due to this, I was assured of it being protected from the elements (both natural and of the human kind). I don't remember the names of the front desk staff but they were very helpful, prompt, kind and professional! An important point: You'll need to purchase the lock from Public Storage. I don't think any other lock will work for their doors and the design may be restricted, I don't know. It was only around USD 19 and no hassles, worth the buy. Plus the next time I travel, similarly, I know where to go and use the same lock. I will be using this place again. Great location, nice people to work with, and overall, it has been a worry-free experience! read more

This is the 2nd time I rented from a Public Storage location. My first experience was a pleasant one, so when time came around to store my stuff again, I gave Public Storage another shot. The same location had no spaces available, so I had to go to this one. That $1 first months rent promise was completely bogus. What they don't tell you is there's a $22 admin fee, you have to buy one of their locks, plus $10 for the minimum insurance(which I didn't want, but was required). And based on these other reviews, it sounds like the insurance doesn't compensate you when your stuff gets damaged/stolen anyway. So my first months' rent was nearly $50, not $1. And unless you move in the 1st of the month, that $1 only applies to the remainder of the month you move in. When I went to pay my 2nd full months rent, I noticed I was charged a late fee. And when I went to pay the 3rd months rent, the lady told me they raised their prices. $110 for a 5 x 5??!! What a ripoff! And seeing that there's at least 100 units there, this building makes at least $11000/month. Where is that money going? The door that led directly to my unit wasn't working those first three months, and I suggested they fix that door with my increased fee. The lady said they couldn't due to a security issue. Oh, but going the long way and propping it open is just fine? That makes no sense! In their defense, the door did get fixed down the line. I tried getting out of there sooner, but due to being busy over the course of 2017, I didn't get my stuff out of there until yesterday(January 29, 2018). Good riddance. And when I let the lady know I vacated the premise, she asked for the lock back. Since I had to pay for it initially, don't I get a credit for giving it back? All of the 5-star reviews I see here talk about how great Jasmine is. I bet the people giving those reviews are just friends of hers trying to bring the star rating up. Take it from a real customer folks. This place is horrible! And Jasmine, I have nothing against you personally, I know you're just doing your job, but you work for an evil corporation. read more

Ok so I have a lot to say about possibly renting from here. First things first is with the experience I've had with this place I highly recommend finding another storage business to go with. In January of 2012 someone (who we now think is either renting a unit or working there) took the ENTIRE hinge with our lock on still,went inside our unit and destroyed our stuff,speakers ruined,books thrown you name it. Why? We have no idea. So we file a claim with the insurance company that Public Storage requires you to have and the company denies it saying there was no sign of forced entry,keep in mind the property manager seen the damage done at the time. We call the district manager many times regarding this matter and doesn't return any phonecalls. May comes around and they leave a voicemail for me on a Tuesday saying that I need to come down and look at our unit because it looks as if our locks been tampered with. We go down there and they had replaced the lock,we go inside and all our stuff is gone,the lady then says the incident occurred the WEDNESDAY before!! So it took them one week to let us know,we call the district manager and still no call back,we're now dealing with the insurance company so once again I don't recommend renting from here,in my opinion their customers valuables aren't priority. The only surveillance they have is on their little house where the property manager lives rather than on the peoples units who over pay them every month read more

we went down there today to rent a space. as we were walking out from our rental unit. i just happened to tug on one of the handles because the lock was put on the way the lady said it wasnt suppose to be. the lock fell to the ground she goes omg did you do that i said i just pulled on the handle. i picked up the lock and it had been cut. so something shady is going on. it was rental number 83! read more

This was my first attempt at moving my belongings to a public storage and most DEFINITELY LAST . The first month for a $1.00 is bullshit they forget to tell you there's a $23.00 registration fee and a $24.00 fee to purchase one of the locks that you get to "keep" that you end up not having absolutely no use for because it only fits "public storage units" my first day settled in I received an EMAIL at 9pm (not a phone call ) stating that I had a missing lock and they replaced it at 6:48pm As I thought all my VALUABLE stuff was gone I rush down there to one of my boxes tampered with and my key fit perfectly in the lock they supposedly replaced it with . I call the main office no answer as she said she would be there 24/7 due to her living on site well she was no where to be found . It gets better there's ONE camera over the entire storage unit that watches over the gate not the units that hold valuable items ! Any how I took my stuff out did not receive a penny back and I have a useless lock ! thanks for NOTHIN public storage ! read more
