I have been using public storage ever since I was 18 years old when I first went off to college, I am mow 27 and I still use them for personal and work. I really appreciate their fast service and clean environment and how every unit is alarmed and checked every morning. This one here in Tustin/Santa Ana is by far amazing the staff are amazing and every time I come, the gentleman is out walking around picking up trash and leaves and things. I love how much he loves this place. He always tells me thank you and have a great day and hi and good morning that is by far amazing. All the ladies that I have met working here are also amazing and nice, one of them actually told me I was a good looking gentleman and that was appreciated. All in all I think this place is amazing I only have one concern and bad thing to say about this place. Note to management: Please change your policy about the carts. I sometimes can't come before 9:30am and I need a cart at 7 am or 8am, your store is the only store i ever been to that locks them up and ask for a ID, so if you can please look into that and fix that. It be really appreciated if I could come here and grab one at 7am and do all my work and then leave. Btw: I have tried to reach out to Evelyn a few times and she has never called me or anything, every time i ask is she's their they say she is on vacation or sick, she must have a lot of vacation and sick time because they tell me this a lot. Just had an employee hang up on me ignore my requests to contact corp. office and resolve my billing. She exhibited the WORST display of customer service. She was extremely combative & threatening by insisting I pay an overcharge the Accounting dept. messed up or else... Despite my pleas to speak with somebody in billing and resolve she just talked over me about something completely irrelevant to what we were discussing. If her poor customer service skills are indicative of the Co. Philosophy that it's safe to say all PUBLIC STORAGE LOCATIONS mistreat their customers. Not worth the hassle....there's sooo many other better storage facilities nearby that don't verbally attack you and do not have accountability issues. My original five star review for my service level with the staff (at the time) stands. As a business organization however, Public Storage fails and I will never use them again. I will never allow anyone I care about to use Public Storage. If I have enemies, Public Storage is the perfect business to refer them to. Their pricing structure is predatory and designed to move you in, only to rip you off later. The mechanism is 1 - Move you in free, move you in cheap, and offer reasonable monthly rates. and no contracts, everything is month to month. 2 - Without the contact, they can and will raise your rates every month as they see fit. We ended up paying TRIPLE rent within a year of moving in. We couldn't get our stuff out fast enough. You can check in (easily) but you can't check out (easily). I've never transacted in drugs before but I think it would be very similar to my experience with Public Storage. The first hit is free kid. The 2nd month, 3rd month.. etc not so much. Once they have your goods, they are relying on the fact that it is difficult to move out and are using that knowledge to press you with the higher pricing. Illegal business model? - Not at all. Scummy and predatory? - Absolutely. If you had this tenant/landlord relationship with human beings, you would likely be violating half of the Geneva Conventions on humane treatment of your fellow man. What made my experience the best, was that the person assisting me helped me get into a unit that was right for me when I thought that I needed something a lot bigger than I truly did. Honest service goes a long way in my book. Being somebody who's currently strapped for cash and needing to save any money I could, I really truly appreciated the honest and genuine help. My mom used this storage unit in the past which is why I came to this location, I remember she had no issues and had a good experience. I can see why. The area and community are lovely; it's safe -- don't listen to the professional bots online. The problems for individuals like myself are 1. very limited hours, 2. dishonesty and 3. mainly, increased fees. -- I have had my collection there a year and a half and my fee just went up $360! (Assuming I would have to store my collection for another year.) -- When I initially called the 800 number, I was reserved a 10' x 12'. After I got my stuff moved in, I found out the space I paid for was actually 10' x 10'. How did I find out? THROUGH THE INVOICE. And when I had first arrived, the man there at that time literally showed me a 5' 6" and claimed it was a 10' x 12"! I was astounded. I told him, "I know that's not 10' x 12'." He smirked and moved on to the 10' x 10'. After I declined their insurance --- How would I prove the value of my collection if it were stolen? Plus, I have adequate insurance -- THEY INCREASED THE RENT FOR THE EXACT VALUE OF WHAT THE INSURANCE WOULD HAVE BEEN. An additional $187 so far. (Again, I have rented a space for a year and a half.) Your fee is very unstable. You may even be paying for that FIRE they had at the other Public Storage in Laguna Hills in April. And the numerous other fires since then; It's not worth it; chances are very good you will Lose your belongings, or have to pay someone, maybe hundreds of dollars, to move your items to a more affordable facility. Update: My rent went up AGAIN by $6 extra per month. Stay away! read more

The service is horrible. No pandemic clauses or exceptions available. Not even if you work with them in advance. Moved out and they charged a card they didn't have permission to charge after I moved out. That is a joke. But the bigger joke is no matter how high you complain, they will brush off the rude customer service (rude, right?!) And stay but you aren't getting your money back. And if you want to complain that the process of that is ridiculous and greedy. They brush you off tonthe next phone number and extension to be told the same thing. Covid policies and exceptions need to be considered and implemented. To avoid doing so it actually discrimination because we can't change our situation. Work just isn't flowing, curfews and lock downs limit travel. And lack.of resolution or care to get to one is ridiculous. Finally please stop telling people to calm down. You aren't being helpful and that makes people who are already frustrated even angrier. read more

This Public Storage is THE WORST!! This public storage keeps business hours for access hours. Which means, if you don't plan ahead, you can't access what you have stored. On the weekends they open at 9:30 am and close at 5 PM. So when I'm running errands at 8:30am, I have to wait another HOUR to access my storage. When we signed up for this location, the hours were reasonable, early morning to late night access. Now however, I have to take time off work to access storage. There is literally NO REASON to have access hours mirror business hours. When the staff is approached with this issue, they blow you off. Don't go here. Extra Space is so much better. DO NOT FALL FOR THE $1.00 SCAM. We reserved a unit on McFadden, had a confirmation number and confirmed with them over the phone (and they call daily until you talk to them); even went to the facility to confirm and then when we arrived (a few days early) to measure and get the lock (you must buy one of theirs from them) they said - oh, that rate was just if we happen to have that unit available - the only one in your size is $40 more per month. They also said repeatedly they do not raise rates for a year, when I asked where it says it in the contract was told, we can't put it in writing since all units are month to month. THIS IS A SCAM and they take advantage of people who are out of time to shop AGAIN for a unit after believing their rates were legitimate. Bait and switch at one of the worst time in many people's lives. Found a place in Orange County, a little cheaper with same $1 for first month and for $10 they GUARANTEE your space and rate. They are out there - keep shopping - give your business to the legitimate companies. read more

PUBLIC STORAGE EXEC SUPORT DEPT in CORP., rep was calling me DISCRIMINATORY names as I was explaining I paid 1 mo. in advance & had receipts. Rep refused to listen & I told him to stop with the name calling & would record he said NO cuz it's against their policy and hung up. I went to a location to show the receipts to clear situation & I was rudely treated, Agents refuse to cooperate with me, they started calling other locations pretending to be supervisors & even they admitted they were confused & informed me they have no supervisors nor General Manager. This location is odd. When I first signed up to rent Tony helped me out and everything was very easy. I eventually needed to upgrade my unit to a larger size and again Tony was amazing at helping me out. Then 6 months (NOT a year) after I first moved in came the first huge rent increase. I was floored by how much it went up. When I called to try to negotiate a better price or a different unit I was given the line, "Prices are set by corporate. There's nothing we can do." Every time since that I've had to deal with staff they are amazingly rude. I know Tony is still there, I've seen him around the few times I've been to pick stuff up, but everyone else has been horrible to deal with. I've decided to get my stuff out of there this month and in the future I will not store with Public Storage. read more

Haven't had too much experience with storage places, but these guys seem pretty cool and the customer service was quite good. Although I told the property manager that I only needed the unit for 1 month, I did get an invoice from PS but when I spoke to the manager, he explained it was just their systems and not to worry - his computer had all the right info. Beware though, with PS's special of $1 for your first month, it's actually about $31 for the first month - there are admin fees, insurance, blah blah blah. But overall, quite a tidy place, seems open and safe and quite secure. Plus, the staff were quite helpful. read more

I needed a temporary place to store my belongings in-between moving apartments and figured I'd take them up on the $1 for the first month promotion. After administrative fees and buying my own lock, I moved my belongings' into one of the climate controlled units which was more than enough space that I needed. The staff was super professional and really quick in processing my information. If i had needed an extension of time, I'm sure the entire process would have been just as quick and professional. This has literally been the worst experience and I've only had the storage 9 days. I informed the location that I lost the keys to lock Sunday. I was presented with two options call a lock smith or the district manager can come In and cut the lock. I choose the latter due to limited funds for a lock smith. I was told by who I believe to be an assistant manager that the DM should be in earlier this week but that he usually doesn't give eta due to not knowing his schedule which I thought was absurd at the time. Since the beginning of the week I have called each day to check on the status and each day I was told he "should" be in the next day on down to "he makes his own schedule " and that they have no idea when he's coming in. This is beyond ridiculous! While I am 100% aware of the fact that I'm the one who lost the keys the process for this is in no way customer service friendly or sensitive to customers needs. I've reach out to customer care who gave me both the district manager and regional managers name who I've also contacted w no response. I have no more clean clothes for myself or my child and am running out of money to keep eating out. I've been more than polite because I know that ultimately I am To blame for the lost keys but I have lost all patience. I even asked if I can rent a bolt cutter($9 at Home Depot) and cut it myself but I was told I could not do that per their policy.If I were to just go in and do it without them Knowing then I'd be the jerk. I can't reserve a U-Haul or even ask anyone for help moving my throngs because I have no date of when I'll have access to My belongings. I'm beyond frustrated at this asinine process. read more

This storage unit is already very expensive and then out of nowhere they raise my rent another $11. I can't raise on the customer service because they don't really interact with me at all. I would recommend finding a cheaper storage unit since there are plenty out there and this one is nothing special. Matter of fact it is a chain so you think they would drop there prices since they are so big, but instead they raise them. Also, I am supposed to be getting a military discount but the amount I'm paying it sure doesn't seem that way. read more

Liars !!! I have gone to multiple places and asked about an in-between pro-rated move out. These guys were the cheapest because they have the $1 first month rent - which I aint got a full month too .. June 13-June 30. So coming back, June 13 - Aug 5 (2017) was my duration for placing my apartment items, I told them is it possible to have a pro-rated amount for August, and they said YES and it will be $6 per day for the days I'm using for the month. Later on July, when I called them and told them about my move out balance, one lady staff told me that they only take month to month and I have to pay the full amount. Its not the money but they are LIARS ... Worst place to have your stuff rented - try some other location - I'll take this up to Public Storage group for my worst experience .. Update to my previous review. Once you move in you cannot get anyone to contact you. We moved in seamlessly - online process was good. However, we decided we no longer needed the storage unit and moved out - out of town. We were unaware that we would have to check out with the manager - and proceeded to move out online. Try, try, try to get anyone from the office to call you back or respond to an email confirming our move out. Ridiculous. No responses. The email contact with the corporate office is a vicious circle of "no reply" email responses. Not good. read more

This review is an Update to my review on 4/26/2018 Thank You. After my last review, I called Public Storage, spoke to the manager, and explained the whole situation, as it is in my first review. He was very professional, and also kind. He said that he would at least seek a delay to the stated rent increase, since I was a customer in good standing, and that they'd been raising my rent for the last few years. In the same day... I received an email, as well as his call back telling me that they (corporate) had reviewed my application for 'request for suspension of rent increase', which was submitted by the manager onsite, and that they had decided in my favor. They gave me til Sept. 1,2018 when they will increase my rent. I don't know if it will be the 60% increase stated in April , but at least it gives me time to move out. I like PS, and have rented storage units from them before in different locations. I've always been satisfied. They're clean, professional and well maintained. But I DISLIKE the aggressive way they up-sell their insurance. I was told it's mandatory, and that I HAD to pick from one of their insurance policy options (which adds costs!!). But I knew better, and knew I could push back. They have a similar up-sell technique with their locks. I think these are unfair business practices. I'm concerned most consumers won't know this and will blindly go along when the PS reps do their up-sell. read more

I have storage places and this is just like the rest nothing spectacular but not much to complain about either. Dull staff look like they hate their jobs ... but it doesn't bother me cause if I worked there I'd be pissed too. My units a little ways in the building making it a pain to get to but it's cheaper and it works. I don't like their hinky way of getting you to purchase their lock ..I still refused and drove my U-Haul to Home Depot and got a nice new lock that is the way more secure and half the price. read more
