El Monte Storage offered a good move-in deal, and when I went to see the unit, I received great service, and the process was very smooth. I've been renting my unit for over a year now, and have been very pleased with it. The facility is clean, very well maintained and secure. And the staff is very friendly and efficient. Also, since my unit is on the third floor, I often borrow a cart from the office to transport boxes to my unit. This process is easy--you just have to leave your drivers license at the office until you return the cart. Only once did I have to wait for a cart because they were all in use. Since then, I try to go early in the morning if I know I'll need to borrow a cart. Highly recommended!

I grew up in Southern California in the 70s and visits here feel like an experience from my childhood. There's a real woman behind the counter. Every door is on ground level and you drive up to it. It's clean and Security is good. I have an irrational urge to rent a bigger one!

Today, the entire building had a power outage--the lights were completely out inside, and I was completely locked out with zero access to my unit. On top of that, the garage has been entirely shut down for months. This isn't a one-time thing either; last year it was closed for months at a time too. Because the garage is closed, you are forced to park outside on the street. This specific block has a massive issue with drug dealers and fentanyl users hanging out right on the sidewalk. Forcing customers to park outside and carry their items through that environment is a massive safety hazard. You pay a premium price for what is supposed to be a "secure" facility, but you can't get in, the garage is always broken, and you have to risk your safety just to visit your unit. Look elsewhere.
