Placed an order that was incorrect on MY end and they accommodated me so well! The bakery agreed to still make my cupcakes give AND bread bowls. The deli was able to make my meat and cheese platters. Publix is Publix, what can I say? I love the stability of the business. I love every department in the store, the service you get from the employees is excellent. I love the BOGO's throughout the store, especially the meats-that's when I stock up. The dry BOGO's are usually in a central location in the store. Each store might have the BOGO's at the front door or by the bakery/Deli area-each store is different. They always call for more Cashiers when it gets busy. The produce department rocks! read more

Someone needs to regularly "patrol" the area out front; when I left there was a young man seated on one of the handicapped carts firing up a big glass vase (it's what it looked like) and inhaling some white smoke that came out of it. It has everything you need and the staff is nice and helpful. I went late at night, close to closing time, so it wasn't packed, and the parking lot has more than enough space. I also got one of the Mardi Gras Rotisserie Chickens, a southern potato salad, and an orange juice, and the chicken was juicy and tasty and still warm, and the salad was... well, those salads are always the same: quite good, but average.... anyway, got about three meals out of them. I called this store to make an appointment. They told me to go online and do it, OK. I went on line and this store did not even show up, which is right up the steet from me, but five others did. So I walked up to the store and asked for a flu shot at 1:30, slow time, no customers up front. The tech told me to come back at 3:00 and get a shot "short staffing " was the reason and then asked me if I wanted to make an appt. I said." This Publix in the Lakewood neighborhood was relocated from the "University Mall" location about a half a mile east on University. The old Albertson's on this site, which was purchased by independent grocer Rowe's Foods, and closed after about a year, has been razed, this location is all-new construction.. The store is bright, inviting, and well organized -- one of the nicest Publix stores I've visited in a while. (Being brand new has advantages!) I was happy to discover that this store stocks a few flavors of Dr. Brown's Soda. Checkout was quick on a Monday evening; the employees were all friendly. Access from eastbound University Blvd may be a bit difficult; there are also two entry/exit ponts on Old St. Augustine Road. read more

Publix is definitely my go to grocery store and this location is in my neighborhood. I tend to shop the sales which make the prices comparable to cheaper stores. But the reason to shop Publix? Quality and customer service. The store is clean, brightly lit, and there are always a bunch of employees working around and asking if you need help. I like how the freezer section has motion sensor lights that turn on only if it senses you walking down the aisle. The produce is some of the best quality among my neighborhood grocery stores. Why else does Publix rock? BOGOs every week, good bakery items, and we can't forget the awesome subs. I was just there yesterday and I smelled fried chicken someone had in their cart as I was buying cottage cheese. It smelled fabulous and I left with some chicken of my own. The slightly annoying things? Not enough cart return areas (because I rarely utilize the offered employee help) and the baggers are afraid of running out of my reusable bags and tend to load my entire trip into three bags instead of the six I brought. But seriously folks, Publix is awesome. And they honor competitor coupons. read more

I visited this Publix location on my lunch break expecting to get some fresh food and decently ok service. Sadly that was not the case. I waited in a line of only 4 people for 20 minutes waiting to place my simple order of a blt salad and tenders. The lady at the counter did tell me that the tenders would take 15 minutes because they was making more. What she didn't tell me is that the tenders they was making was gonna be eaten by the employees. So as a paying customer I had to watch Publix employee enjoy there food and when I ask about how long for me and the other paying customers I was told I had to wait and additional 15 to 20 minutes while they make more so about a hour total . That's crazy but it's ok because your employees are more important than your customer I understand that now. Publix you suck as a grocery store , your sub & hot food department sucks, your customers service suck, your employees & employers suck Publix I'm honestly really disappointed at how bad this location and the people that work in the hot food and subs departments treat the consumers. read more

Soooo, If you are purchasing cigarettes, just go to a gas station. I was bullied yesterday just attempting to purchase cigarettes. Be prepared to recite an essay when ordering smokes. The plank at the customer service counter was clueless as to what a carton of cigarettes was. Can they be trained or are they just there for show. Salt and Peppa on the reg. rude and gossiping about smoking after I placed my order. Neither had moved their ass to get said carton and the one is carrying on about paper and plastic.?!? Train them or fire them. I used to spend a lot of money in that store. Walmart is just around the corner. There are too many people willing to graft for a decent wage. FFS. I was very sadden by my visit last night. I went in for a specific yogurt, only to find that the only 4 of the flavor I preferred were all expired. My second favorite flavor had 3 on Shelf, 2 expired 1 expired in 2 days. I then went for the cottage cheese, it expires 3 days prior. I have never seen such poor rotation at Publix. I really like Publix. Unfortunately their pharmacy ruins the shopping experience. They simply refuse to fill my critical psychiatric meds. I have never given them a reason to ban me from their services. I shop at Publix weekly and this really upsets me. I'm Treated like a criminal or something just for needing psyc meds. It's outright profiling and unwarranted. Therefore I regret to give them a poor review. Publix is more of an upscale grocery compared to others in the area. Their selection of produce is fresh and of good quality. I love the fact that they carry Boars Head meats and cheeses in their deli. A must try from the bakery is the Chantilly cake. It is to die for. They do like to ride in the handicap little racal cart thingies... navigation can be a challenge It was difficult on a (Sunday)... employee stocking the shelves and a store full of old ladies... all I wanted was crackers...Orange Park traffic moment in the store.... two old ladies in opposing positions... about 6 people were trying to manuever around ... and the poor employee is trying to stock.... Chip and cracker aisle....old lady parked looking at a shopping list ... employee stocking... This stuff should be done... AFTERHOURS or maybe just not on a weekend... Not up to Publix standards. After having shopped at this Publix for years I will not return. The Pharmacy tech "Paddy" would not look up from his monitor to speak to me. When I finally got him to understand what I needed he was dismissive. As I was leaving with some items I walked up to one of 4 lanes with no customers in it. As I was unloading, the adjacent cashier told the cashier in my lane that she could have helped. The one I was standing in front of said loudly "I guess he can't read." At that moment I looked up and realized that I was at the "speed lane." It was my fault for being in the wrong lane for sure. But with no other customers in line at any register, was that really necessary. Publix used to be a customer centered company. Something has happened. With Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and Fresh Market all coming into the market, I will spend my money with them and not with Publix. read more

I really like this Publix. Despite it being on University. Their customer service is just what you should expect coming to a public. They are ALWAYS willing to help me load up my groceries and help me to the car. I guess I am partial with this store because I know where everything is. But it is well and evenly lit through out he store. I hate when you go to a store and some isles are dim and creepy looking and others are super neon and bright. Ok I'm getting off on rabbit trails. I was shocked at the shabby treatment two deli meat cutters tried to give me. I did report their rudeness to the deli manager. I watched one that was possibly "high" fail to get four customer orders correct. Another deli employee told me he was "new". He'd worked there for a couple weeks and I'd seen him before. Then his co-workers tried to tell me the machines weren't working properly. Nobody had a problem but this one "high" worker. Both of them screamed at me! I will shop there, but will not allow either one of those employees to serve me. read more
