I have shopped at this fresh market on and off for years. Today will likely be my last visit. It's so sad but fresh market, no longer carries high-end cheeses, spinach, dip, the yummy bread that they used to have, etc. I don't know if they just weren't selling enough of these products to make it worthwhile, but I went in today for five things and they didn't have four of them. Not sure what's happened to the fresh markets customer service. When you're charging Publix prices, you should be able to at staff accordingly to avoid being 10 deep with only two registers open. I brought it to the attention of one of the clerks. She called twice over the PA for assistance. No one came. I sought out the store manager, and she was oblivious to the situation. Unfortunately, this has become a common problem. I understand it's near the holidays, but this has been an ongoing issue. For the price, there are better options for the service. read more

I've been to Fresh Market a lot and have built a love for this place! I know what I want here and where to find it. The store has a great produce area, with thankfully a good assortment of organic produce and fruits available, along with a florist area, excellent bakery (all goodies, cakes, etc. made in-store), a meat and butcher area, wide array of frozen and canned goods. Well, I could go on and on - they seem to even own half of the parking spaces here too! But why do I go here? I admit that Fresh Market is pricey - but not so much when you figure out how to look for the deals here. You create a good advantage for yourself if you get the app and on the email list. If you do, you'll always know when to make your frontal attack on Fresh Market! I'll give you a little hint! Pay attention to Thursdays! Then you can find rotisserie chickens and store created pizzas at $6 each (and they are mighty good!), in addition to various sushi rolls for $5. Yes it's pricey here but use to app, email, enter your phone number on the credit card machine when you check out, and in time, you'll figure out the secret to being able to shop at Fresh Market! Many other offerings at Fresh Market fascinate me as well. The olive bar is special, and like other areas very well cleaned and well kept. They offer various soup flavors here too. I mentioned the bakery previously - you gotta try that! I will say the meat area prices are pretty high but you'll never get anything you would dislike there. Service is stellar. From the employees on the floor, to the ones in the bakery/cooking areas, and the cashiers, I've been very impressed with the friendliness and courtesy that I am treated with at this Fresh Market. Well, I left today with a smaller celebration cake that was on sale (at $8.49 normally $10.99), a $6 deluxe pizza handcrafted (normally $11.99) in the store, a $5 spicy shrimp (sushi) roll (usually around $8) and some organic strawberries (not on sale). You can save a few bucks here - really! But you'll also have unique finds you probably won't get anywhere else. Anyway, don't be afraid of Fresh Market! Take the plunge and explore this fascinating food outlet! And know ahead what you're looking for in regard to deals! Do that, and you'll feel good about becoming a regular customer here! I always forget how much I love Fresh Market until I go!!! The flower selection that greats you coming in the door is beautiful. Then the fresh fruits and vegetables. It costs 1.60, but would have only been .99 if I'd remembered my club membership number there! Either way it was well worth it! I love The Fresh Market! I was always jealous when living in Amelia Island full time that we did not have a Fresh Market. Now, we live near Jacksonville Beach full time and I shop at Fresh Market on Atlantic every week. You can get so many things you cannot get at a traditional grocery store and I love that. We were the host for a national event put on by SeaRay boats this past weekend for the Florida/Georgia game and the marketing people chose Fresh Market to stock the boat with food. They did a great job! I went by the store since I was local to check on the order and simply added a vegetarian wrap. Denise, the deli manager assured me there was plenty of food and boy was she right. We had enough food for double the people on the boat. The Fresh Market is one of my favorite grocery stores. I love walking up and down every aisle and browsing. It is pricey but you are paying for high-quality food. The deli is one of my favorite stops. The cranberry and pecan chicken salad is the best I've ever tasted. I also purchased the clam chowder from the hot soup bar which I would highly recommend. They have a huge selection of cheeses, fresh made salads, meals and sandwiches. You can also purchase local honey from Bee Friendly Farms which is the main reason I went shopping recently. Fresh Market always has the best produce, ready to take food, and assortment of meat and seafood. My family decided last minute that they'd like to stay home and asked me to cook Easter dinner vs going out. I was not prepared because I thought we were going out but Fresh Market saved the day. Hams were sold out so we decided on steaks with an assortment of veggies and sides. The men working the meat counter were very knowledgeable and helpful. Yes their prices may be just a little higher than other grocery stores, but in my opinion the quality of their products is superior. We like this Fresh Market, normally pretty good service and fresh food. Today we only went for a cake pickup for a birthday (French Chocolate Mousse), which is a family fave. It is rich, but savory and not sickening sweet. If you plan to use for a celebration you will want to ask them to leave off the green Fresh Market chocolate piece they normally decorate this with. Definitely recommend. I also enjoy their cannolis. For the deli, they have some good deals (including a wing deal with two sides and corn bread)- I prefer to get plain wings with the parm sauce on the side. Best to call it in or you are taking a big chance, last week I went last minute and they were totally out of wings (they said someone bought 3 pounds), but honestly if they are having a wing sale as they were that night, I would expect them to make extra so they wouldn't run out (mind you it was only 5:30 pm). I also recommend their crab cakes- the colossal, Maryland is too much bread. Closer to the holidays I recommend their pecan pie chocolate chip- one of my faves. The quality of the vegetables and fruits in the produce section is second only to the farms that make them. The meat section is the best in the city as well. There is an uncompromising dedication to quality here and everything is fresh. The wine selection is decent but not awesome - though there are some more expensive options you won't find at Publix. The store is quite clean and there is a decent sized selection of preprepared items as well as a small area in which to eat. While I would consider it a matter of fiscal irresponsibility if I bought ALL my groceries here, there are certain things like fresh produce and meat that I won't buy anywhere else and neither should you. There are other cool market chains that try and copy what The Fresh Market has been doing for awhile but these guys are pro's and their standard is definitely that of a top tier grocer. read more

I often choose to shop at the Fresh Market on Atlantic Blvd over the Publix and Winndixie in the same area due to the quality of their products. After shopping today, they are no longer a top choice. I purchased quite a few items, mostly meat/seafood totaling $109.19. I bought 2 pieces of Salmon and 1lb of colossal shrimp. When I got home I began prepping the seafood and noticed that it smelled a bit off. After cooking it, I confirmed that the fish and shrimp were indeed spoiled. I've never had an issue like this with the Fresh Market, but I'm so turned off that I don't want any of the meat /seafood that I bought out of fear it'll be bad. Inspection of meat and seafood needs to be done daily... People can get sick otherwise! I've reached out via phone and the online guest forms. I hope to hear something soon. read more

Since Fresh Market reached out to me, I returned today to give them the opportunity to make good on the steak. Instead of bringing the store manager into I chose to try and work things out with the manager of the meat department. When I explained the situation to him he repeated several times that they don't guarantee their steaks to be tender... I guess I assumed that's what comes with paying $30/lb for a Prime steak! I visited this store due to a referral from a friend since I'm new to Jacksonville. The store appears to be well maintained and the food fresh. I love the chicken egg rolls they don't seem to sell anymore! which was the initial reason for my visit.... Along my journey I have picked up some great organic juices (Lakewood) but the price is double what I paid in Tampa or any other store! I like the store and for some special commodities I'm willing to pay a lil over price but double is ridiculous. I used to think that this store was only for the wealthy, but I average about $70 a week for my groceries here (and I eat 5x a day) which is very reasonable. Pay attention to their sales: ground chicken is on special on Tuesday's. I love grinding my own peanut butter because I know there are no additives to it. Their olive bar is top notch and every employee interaction has been a pleasant one. Shout out to the guys at the meat counter who are always so patient with me.
