I usual just go to this Publix only for order pick up & it's always so weird that the workers who bring out the groceries don't even acknowledge you, they just put the grocery in car & leave don't even say thank you have a nice day. Through the years customer service at this Publix has been great. However, their prices are really high, unless you buy one and get the second one free. So I pretty much only buy French bread from there and crispy rye bread. I am used to shopping for produce from Aldi or other stores even this is the closest grocery store for me. But back to the customer service. Few days ago I used their quest service counter and was helped by Jared. He was friendly, professional, very helpful and quick. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE Customer Service Manager: Brittany Stewart I am very disappointed to say that I will no longer be shopping here. This was my favorite Publix but their produce has really went downhill. I purchased two packages of Organic Blackberries ($3.99 each) and they were unripe and HARD AS A ROCK. I went to exchange them the next day with my receipt and the customer service manager BRITTANY STEWART would not let me exchange them since I used WIC to purchase them. She said I cannot refund you. I made it very clear that I was not asking for a refund I would like to exchange them and she said there's nothing she can do. What kind of customer service is that? Her attitude was very nonchalant and discourteous and I found it very ill-mannered that she didn't make any other suggestions to help. They always have 3-4 workers standing around talking , on phones playing around , literally no one is in line waiting for 20 mins eevytime just to get your order taken ! TLDR: Dont sleep on the Publix bakery because their cakes are amazing and affordable!! I got a Barbie cake for my birthday and it was such a good decision. I got a vanilla cake and whip cream as a topping. It was just as good as I remember. The cake isn't too sweet and it's so so so moist. Terrible. Probably the worst Publix I've ever been to. I had a question on where an item was and I noticed there was a manager standing around talking to employees. So I kindly asked if she could help me. On her name tag if I remember correctly her name was Cynthia. She snapped her head and asked me to wait. I understood because I may have been interrupting her managing. But then she did not help me and continued to just talk to the employees and I noticed it wasn't because she was managing she was simply just talking. I ended up going to a different employee and asked for help and explained what happened. She shared this manager only talks and never works. Stands around all day. Maybe check your cameras or get a new manager. I shouldn't have to go from employee to employee to find one item unless they don't know. But this was a manager. I will not be back, I will shop at a store where the managers will want to help. read more

I live very close to this store, so it has always been my preferred location for groceries. As with all Publix supermarkets, the customer service is very good and everyone is friendly. I rarely come to the store and can not find what I am looking for. The atmosphere is cheerful and the store is bright. The only issue I have and have been having for some time is the checkout process or mote, specifically payment. Ever since the introduction of the Publix app, or at least the first time I noticed it, I downloaded the app to my phone and used it almost every time I visited the store. One of the features I like best is the payment where I stored a couple of credit cards in my profile. And every time I get to the cashier and pay with the app, the cashiers seem to not know that this payment option exists! For as long as I can remember, going back several months, only ONCE has a cashier assumed I was using the app even as they watched me scan the image using my phone. The one cashier who realized I was using the app did so yesterday, April 24. And I assumed that would be the norm going forward. But this evening, April 25, I scanned the payment screen again with my phone in clear sight of the cashier. She just looked at me and then said, "Sorry, I don't think your card went through!" I then told her it was the Publix app, and she figured it out. She said good night, but it would have been nice if she could have apologized for declaring my credit was declined in earshot of other shoppers. At any rate, it would be nice if management would train the cashier to assume shoppers use Publix's own app to pay in the future. read more

In all honesty I should write two reviews as I ordered a Birthday Cake and Wings for my granddaughter's Sweet Sixteen. 8/14/21 The Science themed Birthday Cake created at the Bakery was phenomenal. If I could give it 10 stars that would only be minimally fair. Everyone was amazed. On the other hand the $46.00 that I spent on an assortment of wigs were very disappointing. I have shopped this store for over seven years and this was the only time I can say I had and issue. The store is always clean the Customer Service is stellar. These wings were old pre heated dry and re-seasoned to cover up the lack of freshness that would have come from wings prepared the same day.. Everyone including a 6 year old complained. I always felt Publix was the love child of Kroger and Whole Foods. Prices are little high then they should be but the quality of the food is worth it. Their fresh produce are better than most Farmers Markets never tasted a bad especially if it's in season. The seafood could use a little more variety. The Publix deli is extremely slow. If there are only 4 people in like you should expect to be in line for at least 30 minutes.

I usually don't give reviews for grocery stores just because it is usually such a mundane experience. This Publix has, by far, the friendliest staff of any grocery store I have ever been in. Most of the time you go through the experience of grocery shopping on autopilot. I definitely stop and notice how polite everyone is. I worked in a grocery store in high school, I know how hard it is to stay alert and sociable towards customers all day, but the staff at this Publix delivers. EDIT: One more thing I want to mention. It's sort of a weird call out, but the employees at this Publix just seem more "put together" than employees at other grocery stores. It's clear by the way the employees present themselves that they take pride in their jobs. read more

This Publix is a little more expensive than the Kroger down the street(i believe this is the case for most of the stores) but i go there mainly for the cheesecake and deli. The staff is very friendly and helpful and i can just go up to any of them if i have a question without being intimidated. Not that i get intimidated easily but just saying....Its clean but i wish they have a self checkout. I believe i have seen that at only one Publix(Smyrna location...Paces Ferry i think). Only reason why i go to Kroger instead of the Publix is for gas and Coke which is like 30 cents cheaper. I love coke but it can be an expensive habit especially if i finished a 12 pack in 3 days. :( Either way, i dont feel icky walking in there to either do hardcore grocery shopping or to get a sub from the Deli. I feel badly for all the people who live too far away to come to this Publix - because this is surely the BEST Publix. I have been a loyal customer of this Publix since the day they opened their doors. I imagine I might find cheaper at some other place, but I believe you get what you pay for. I prefer to shop where I am greeted by name, where assistance is available and cheerfully offered, where the employees seem better trained and just nicer! Sure, they have busy times, and get caught short-handed, but it is clear they try hard to please. Because I am visually impaired, I need assistance with my grocery shopping. The kind folks at my Publix never fail to amaze me with their patience and helpfulness as we go through the aisles and they help me locate the items on my list. They consistently pick out items with the same care they would if they were shopping for themselves, even pointing out sales I might not be aware of. The sales Publix runs work perfectly for me too. I am single and at Publix when they have a BOGO (Buy One Get One free), I can buy just one item for 1/2 price. To the best of my knowledge most other stores don't permit that. It would take me a lifetime to use up, say, two jars of mayonaise. I prefer to get one at half price! It is a nice group of people they have there. I give them 2 stars, but it's a store with two very different experiences. On the one hand, the people who work in the pharmacy and the cashiers are all great. One of the pharmacists who used to work there really helped me a lot during my cancer. And the pharmacists and techs there now are all great. The cashiers, especially Linda, are all very friendly and efficient. On the other hand, the produce and deli departments are both poor excuses for a store of this size (having managed grocery stores in a previous life, I do have some knowledge about how they work). Just today, as I was waiting for some cold cuts, I was bypassed by a clerk who knew the couple who was already being served as she took and started the rest of their order. So you end up having two clerks waiting on one couple while others are waiting around. They often do not understand the words "thin-sliced" -- there have been times where they start off slicing the cold cuts thinly but then press down and end up cutting it much thicker than they should. Produce is frequently filled with vegetables and fruits at the end of their shelf lives. Zucchini might be on sale, but they have some packaged up and the loose ones will look like crap. Produce does not last very long when I bring it home. I've been going here 6 years, and I'm looking forward to finding other options in the area. read more

I discussed with the lady in the bakery when ordering the cake exactly what I wanted, The decorations and trim was a hot mess....very non professional.
