Ordered Cake for my daughter 1st Baby. I went into location. Explained what my request was on cup cake design. It included stacking, whipped cream icing and lion king theme. The pick-up time 8:00a.m. The cup cake arrived as a sheet cake, nothing like lion king, icing was not whipped cream (had a separation look and texture and worst of all it had CONGRATS on it nothing else. In speaking with Bree bakery manager she had a answer for every complaint being said to her (need customer service training). Requested manager he was some what better, however accused me of raising my voice. I explained how would you feel your daughter first baby and shower and the main attraction is absolutely terrible. We moved to this area in 2008 making this Publix our local Publix. Before that we lived in Ponte Vedra and frequented what we now know is considered a white Publix. This Publix is a black Publix. I don't mean that in a derogatory manner to the customers, but the employees here constantly remind you that you are in a Publix that doesn't care about you or your experience. However, I do want to give some props and then also indict someone for being a true Dick. This store has a new general manager and I've seen some positive improvements. I have had much better experience over the past couple of weeks at the deli for online orders. I have gotten 3 correct orders and that is 3 more correct orders than the hundreds that I've placed previously that have ALWAYS been not ready on time and/or incorrect. They finally have a functioning cooler for deli orders, so I no longer have to pick up my items that were left sitting out on the counter for God knows how long next to a dirty sink. That's certainly an improvement. In all honesty, Public corporate's response to the chronic problems at the deli has been to simply stick their head in the sand. You still can't order and pay in advance here because if you go to pick something up it will likely be stolen by another customer. Heck, there are so many dishonest thieves at this store that even unpaid for pre-ordered items get stolen all the time. Kudos to the new deli manager. You have been able to accomplish what others before you have not over a period of several years. 3 correct orders may not sound like much but that is a 300% improvement over your predecessor. That says something so I'm thankful for it. The customer service department has an employee that needs to be terminated immediately. I mentioned earlier that we were going to talk a little bit about Dick, and this is the time. This week I had yet another experience of Publix advertising items for sale in their advertisement for which they have no intention of ever selling. This week it was the All Three Sons pimento cheese dip advertised on BOGO that had been completely deactivated at this store. I know this in hindsight. Let's go to the beginning. My first experience was going into the store and trying to find it. That was followed by going to the deli, produce, dairy, and meat departments and asking employees there if they could help me find it. None could and none offered any additional assistance. I then went up to the customer service desk and ask if they could help me find it. They did a search and said that there's none in stock but they did give me a rain check. (A rain check that I found out later could never be used at this store because this store would never get any in because the item was permanently deactivated in their system.) I then called customer service at Publix corporate. In typical form the customer service representative took my information and promised to follow up. No one ever followed up. This is the Publix's way. I then asked to speak with a supervisor. After the supervisor was on the line we discussed the problem. The supervisor immediately asked if any of the employees that I had interacted with offered to provide a substitution or order the product in for me? They did not. She asked me if I had talked with a manager and I did previously ask for a manager and the customer service manager whose photo is on the wall behind the customer service desk was brought out to help me. While the customer service supervisor from corporate was on the line, Richard, Customer Service Desk "Manager" (aka the completely incompetent Dick), after hearing my experience and knowing that I had a customer service supervisor from corporate on the line, chose to not offer me a substitution nor offer to get the items into the store and instead put his best foot forward and grabbed a sale ad from behind the counter and pointed to a little line at the bottom of each page that says some items may be out of stock. I saw red. I chose to talk to Dick, like he was a dick, which is exactly what he was being. He didn't like this and decided to walk away from me. The customer service supervisor from corporate was stunned that he walked away. We discussed this in detail when I exited the store with her still on the phone and then she asked if I would be willing to go back inside and see if the store general manager was available. I went back inside and told the customer service rep that I have a supervisor on the line from corporate and they are requesting that I speak with the store general manager since big Dicky didn't know his ass from his elbow. complete review on Google read more

Quick shop for some snacks. It's a decent Publix but a little older layout than I've encountered elsewhere. Sure, the quality is there. Produce, seafood, frozen all great. The store is nicely leveled and the aisles are bright and wide. No carts in the corrals. It's just not as polished as other stores. Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. This is the closest Publix to me but I have made my decision to travel to two other Publix and one is in Yulee. I did try it again yesterday and was disappointing. The parking is terrible and people don't know how to put their carts up after using them. There were only four shopping carts when I entered the store. The store is not that clean and they don't have the products that I shop for in stock. The customer service was good as one employee asked another to help me in which he did but then told me they were out. The rotisserie chicken that I bought looked weird but when I got it home it was terrible and had to though it out. A waste of money and I believe this is the second time this has happened. Honestly, something needs to change in this store. I don't know if it's management or the employees but something needs to change just because it's in a certain area they don't care and from my experience yesterday I will be traveling now to the other locations since their stores are much cleaner and organized, better parking and always has what I need in stock. This Publix is easy for me to get to because it just takes one bus to get there. I put my bike on the bus and ride through the parking lot to a secluded bike rack beside the exit that has plenty of light shining on it so you can see well when you load your groceries n your bike, but you still have to watch your surroundings as you are doing it. They have a security officer on duty and a cop in the evening. As soon as you walk in you know you are in a quality grocery store. Usually, the associates meet your needs adequately and it is so refreshing to receive such kind attention from them. I pass by the deli section, and it is way to crowed but customers are kind and move aside as I pass through with my shopping cart that I have put my bike panniers in. I make it a point to get produce. The last time I shopped I noticed the yellow squash was soft and they did not have zucchini, but it was late, (about 7pm.) I always purchase Coconut yogurt and am pleased that it is so fresh. Then I go for the Ezekiel bread in the freezer section which I just can't seem to remember where it is but there is always a store associate or a customer that is willing to help me find it. My biggest concern is the treatment of the baggers when they load my groceries into my personal stuff instead of a shopping cart. Sometimes I bring my pet carrier and sometimes I bring in my bike paniers. One bagger seemed like he was ridiculing me because he said they usually have a baby in them. but maybe I was being too sensitive. Another time a bagger made exaggerated moves like he was trying to avoid touching my stuff as he continually looked behind him to the lead cashier and the security guard standing beside her. He has a laughing look on his face like he was making fun of me. I just chalked it up to immaturity of a younger person. The last time I shopped the cashier did not have a bagger. She willingly bagged my groceries in my bike paniers. She told me to put them on the counter so she could reach them. My checkout experience was better this time. I just wish the customer encounters at checkout was more pleasant and smooth flowing. When I was waiting in line to be checked out, one lady acted like she was going to ram my cart from the side, but I put my hand up to get her attention and it seemed likes she came to herself and stopped. I got out of that line and moved to another line. That was too uncomfortabel for me. I just wanted to get away from her. read more

This has to be the worst Publix in Jacksonville. The service is terrible! The produce and shelves are always low or empty and they usually only have I full-service checkout lane open. On the morning of 2/16/25, the store did not have ANY cashiers with the exception of the young lady behind the "manager" counter. When I questioned the employee at the self check out area about the lack of cashiers, he didn't respond and stood there looking like a deer caught in the headlights. I had a full cart and was forced to use the self check out. It took me 20-25 minutes to scan, bag, and pay for my groceries. I'm sure I missed a few items because of the lack of space available in the self check out area. Your loss Publix!!! Consider it payment for making the customer act as your unpaid temporary cashier and bagger. I can only imagine how much profit you're losing by going with this business model. read more

This location's deli is severely lacking customer service. Every-time I go there no matter what day or time there is a line with 10-20 people. Any chicken is a wait besides rotisserie. While waiting in line today two women in front of me were asking how long the wait is for fried chicken and the woman behind the counter walked away and was clearly ignoring customers. I love Publix and I frequently buy groceries from this location but I can't even try to get anything from the deli without experiencing bad service and a long wait! read more

I stopped in for soup bones which day unfortunately did not have. I noticed that this is one of the older Publix and so it has the older layout and it seems a little bit dim inside. I did view the meat section and the seafood section and everything was fresh and nicely packaged. I was happy to find corn beef as it is almost St. Patrick's Day and that is one of my favorites. They were quite busy in the store and there was probably or persons on average in each line. That's a little different from your normal Publix which seems to manage their lines a little better. They were working hard to keep the store clean and the selection was good, the store was in surprisingly good shape forThe neighborhood that it is in. Curtis is the best in the deli and Andre Manley is the best on the floor! It's always a relief when the employee knows exactly where everything is and is always willing to go above and beyond. The Northside Publix Deli has it going on! They have Vivian and all the other workers are glamorous made up hair net Plus plus they give excellent service Vivian even saved me some money. Because I was on this side of town I decided to stop for sub I saw a nice chicken tender sub last week and Vivian informed me that it was better to order the whole sub rather than a half. The parking lot is a bit chaotic but once you enter it's your typical Publix. I personally was disappointed that their bakery doesn't have hot empanadas and other savory items like a lot of southern Florida Publix do. Whomever the decorator is they have now, they really need to evaluate her position, perhaps send her for courses?!? My mom smiled at it, knowing this is not what I'd usually get her, but with covid right now, we went with a supermarket cake for a home gathering. I love Publix. It has fresh produce and meats. I buy salmon almost weekly at Publix. The pharmacy staff is amazing. The pharmacy provides immunizations and point of care testing. The cashiers are so kind and always ask to walk me out although I decline. My shopping experience is always so nice. I love that this company cares about the customer. I went there one evening because I wanted a sub made fresh out of the deli.. the first thing I notice was the display wasn't clean.. and lacked sides to make a sandwich. So that immediately was a turn off because I was concerned on when the last time it was cleaned and filled with fresh food.. the second thing I noticed was the older lady that was working was very unpleasant moving at a very slow pace, and her facial expressions weren't inviting.. and she was yelling out.. y'all be patient because more help will be here soon, we are backed up with online orders.. as she proceeds to fix the 12 whole subs for the two Spanish guys that was infront of us.. that was the longest unprofessional service I had ever experienced in a Publix before.. I don't think I will go there to pick up a quick bite anymore. Please hire more help for the deli department.. read more

This Publix makes my blood pressure rise. It is horrible to get in and out of the parking lot. The guys collecting the carts usually look pretty miserable and I find this store kind of confusing inside and not near as nice as others around town. Wow! Shopping is certainly not a pleasure at this store. All I wanted was to do a simple 5 gallon water bottle exchange. After spending 15 minutes in the "express - under 10 items" line I was told to go to customer service as they are the only ones who may rung it up. WTH? The water bottles are at the exit door. Customer service is at the entrance. Between the entrance and the exit are 10 rows of cashiers, all packed with customers waiting. Publix should train cashiers how to ring up items without barcodes. I'm happy I didn't need a lot of groceries today. read more

As others have suggested it's better to your shopping in the am as it gets thicker than a snicker as they say after 4ish Even the express lines are too long. God forbid if you need customer service...bring a lawn chair or grab a electric cart lol Over the years the store has definitely improved as I used to not be caught dead in this joint. Ok, the location of this Publix may be a little rough around edges however, I have best hot served fried chicken here. You can get a box of chicken to go when you walk on the door . Now I do warn you that on some days like Sunday or during lunchtime you will find a nice line of customers. Funny that people just wait patiently for that hot barnyard pimp to get done. Also while at Publix try the sub sandwhich you can get the sub made with Boars Head Brand Meat, which I suggest that you try. I had an Italian Sub which was delicious with all the toppings I desired. I recently tried to use Instacart to place a pick up order from Publix. My experience was very disappointing. I inadvertently clicked on the Publix Dunn Ave location, rather than the Duval Station location, which is much closer to me. I tried to get help from Publix, no dice. I was told I had to make any changes through Instacart. I tried logging in to Instacart, their website was down. As I sit here, I have been listening to Muzak on the Instacart help line for 30 minutes. I have always enjoyed shopping at Publix. But they should be more careful about who they partner with. Telling me I have to deal directly with one of their vendors is not an acceptable answer. I would rate my experience a 1, or a negative 1, if that option were available. read more

If you want your cake baked fresh, DO NOT patronize this location. If you want the "Excellent" customer service Publix used to be known for, DO NOT patronize this location. To cut food cost, or to avoid having to bake a cake (because they're too lazy to do so) they will pull an old cake from their cooler, decorate it as you wish, sell it to you, and when you realize you've been had, management WILL NOT refund your money, give you a store discount, or have a willingness to right their wrong in any way. I can't speak for anyone else, but I have never ordered a cake from Publix and not be thoroughly pleased. For me to go back and say I was sold an old cake, (especially when it was made for my grandsons 1st birthday party) management should have had a willingness to right their wrong. Especially when he pulled the receipt (because the card used to pay for it has been lost or misplaced) there was NO willingness, just a bunch of push back. I will not ever again order a cake from this location. I advise you if you're reading this to patronize another location if (like me) you enjoy a Publix fresh cake. I've been trying to place a order for the last three days when someone does answer I am placed back on hold

Being that I've got this love affair with food and trying new recipes, I enjoy the Apron demos at "most" of the Publix stores I go into. One thing I notice when I go into this Publix is that they NEVER have this demo...sadly, I understand why. I agree with the rest of the reviews I've seen here. It's extremely cluttered, always crowded,unkempt, and there are always and I mean always people loitering around the premises which is perplexing being that there is always a uniformed police officer parked in front of the store. So sad. On most days, I'll just go to the Publix on Duval Station Rd. for a better shopping experience. The only reason this Publix gets 2 stars instead of just 1 is because when I do go there, despite their appearance, they usually have what I need and would find at other Publix stores. read more

Contrary to other reviews this store is always neat, clean & organized. May be some mix up between here & the Gateway site. My pics tell the true story. Also the customer service is consistent. This is the closest Publix to me. I wish it was the best but unfortunately I can not say that. They are always out of stock on some of the sale items. They do ask at checkout if I found everything I was looking for, however when I tell them no thats as far as it goes. I can see this is a smaller store based on some of the other Publix I have been in. Wish it could be expanded. On the plus side everybody seems friendly. read more

I love publix but I dislike this one. It's dirty. I have a thing about restrooms... If my 3 year old needs to use the potty it better be clean. I've tried to take my daughter to the bathroom 2x here and both time the bathroom smelled like urine and was super dirty. Most of the staff is very kind and friendly. Being a loyal Publix customer in my home town of Winter Springs, i feel sorry for all customers who frequent this location on a regular basis. What should have been a quick in and out took 40 minutes and service was the worst I have seen in a very long time. I can't believe that this store is allowed to carry the Publix name.
