I wanted to give a better rating because the food itself was decent, but the service left a lot to be desired. When we first walked in, we stood at the counter for about 5-7 minutes without being acknowledged. I understand the manager (white woman, glasses, sun&wave tattoo on her right forearm) was counting money, but there were two registers open and several employees walking back and forth. Instead of simply greeting us or letting us know someone would be with us shortly, they just kept looking at us without saying anything, which made us feel pretty uncomfortable. When our food came out, half of my sandwich was missing the buffalo sauce I specifically asked for, so it wasn't made consistently. What really stood out, though, was what happened next. As soon as a firefighter, a police sergeant, and a police chief walked in, the manager (same woman) immediately jumped on the register and became much more enthusiastic and attentive, asking how they could help right away. It was hard not to notice the difference in how they were treated compared to how we were. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect every customer to be acknowledged and treated with the same level of courtesy. Hopefully this was just an off day, because the service definitely needs improvement. read more

I really wanted a açaí bowl and saw there was a location near by. I was highly disappointed. The presentation was awful. The wait is always quick and the smoothies are absolutely delicious! My husband and I always grab a smoothie when we're on our way out for errands! We've tried pretty much every smoothie on the menu and we've even made our own. All the fruit is fresh and sweet! Absolutely love this place and so does my husband. The food is also delicious. This is new for me! I have had nothing but fantastic service and product at this Tropical Smoothie Cafe in my two visits here thus far! My Bahama Mama was outstanding - this is a favorite smoothie among TSC customers and I must say I'm stuck on it now myself! It's a mix of strawberry, coconut, white chocolate - and something else! My mind betrays me! One day, I will try the sandwiches here - from what I've observed they look stellar! But there were two stars of the show today who really did some outstanding customer service! Stopped in for a free smoothie on flip flop day and expected​ chaos. To my surprise there was no line at all. I'm guessing because this is a newer​ location and people had not quite made it there after work. I was there around 5:30pm. They only offered one flavor for the free smoothie, Sunny Day ™ which includes Mango, banana, orange juice & kiwi. I would not have picked this one, but again I was surprised. I really enjoyed it. The staff was super friendly and well prepared. They had one ready to go when I ordered so I did not have to wait for one to be made. Operating in this type of way will cause folks to stop coming later in the evening due to the fact they are unsure if the location will be open. My daughter went in after church on Wednesday. it was 8:11 and when she walked in an employee mopping said oh hell no can't she see we cleaning up. Two other employees started saying hateful things and the guy at the register said man she is right there. Basic smoothie place, very clean. Tried the sunrise smoothie and chipotle chicken wrap. Everything was exactly as expected, brought out quickly. They were out of eggs, but the wrap did not have anything missing without them. They had a wide range of options, you could get something pretty indulgent if you wanted. First thing the location is great right here in River City, I have always liked them over Smoothie King due to pricing and they have food, they also have a DRIVE-THRU!!! The hours are great and the staff is extremely friendly, they will even go as far as give out free smoothies if the lines are backed up. They are a new staff and location so bear with the lines, but the products they produce are excellent and management is heavily involved if their are any issues. read more

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is one of my faves for lunch. Generally, I use the drive thru to get a quick bite. Amber is usually at the drive thru window. She is so kind and efficient.Some of my favorite items on the menu are the chicken salad sandwich, chicken pesto flatbread, and three cheese chicken quesadilla. (You may notice I like chicken. lol) But, my all time favorite item is the Paradise Point smoothie! Sometimes I just get the smoothie by itself. It's that good! I will admit that I have been here a few times this past week. I will also admit that I waited so long for a Tropical Smoothie to come to River City and my dream finally came true. The first time I went I ordered the Kiwi Quencher smoothie and the super green Caesar wrap and it tasted so good. Yesterday I went again and I ordered the Kiwi Quencher and the banana and peanut butter oats flatbread which is on their all day breakfast menu and it was so good. I love this place! The smoothies and food are always very good, the staff are always nice. Unfortunately, the drive thru can have pretty long waits. This has become my go to lunch spot. I stopped in here one day a few weeks ago for a smoothie because I wasn't super hungry but still needed to eat something. I was surprised to see that they have a whole menu with sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads, etc. I didn't get anything that day, but since then I've been back to try a little bit of everything and have yet to be disappointed. The food and smoothies come in a great size for the price and everything is super fresh. The interior of the restaurant is clean and all of the employees are friendly. The only negative comment I have is for the drive thru. Since they make the food for you and blend your smoothie right when you order it, it takes a little while to get your food. The lunch line can get a little backed up and can take about 15 minutes for you to get to through and get your food, depending on how many cars are in line ahead of you. This isn't really something I feel like they can control though so it's not a big deal to me since the food is really worth the wait. read more
