This is my go to Publix as it is closes to my house. Everything is very clean and well organized in this location - easy to find and quick to get in and out of the store, when needed. Typically, the staff is working diligently to ensure the shelves are stocked and it is rare that I find things out of stock here. The staff is extremely friendly and you can truly see that they care about their jobs as they remember the regulars who come in and live nearby. The parking lot has a lot of spaces for parking and workers collecting carts to ensure they're well supplied inside the store. The hardest part of shopping at Publix, in general, is the cost. I find that I'm spending the same amount of money at Trader Joes, Target, or Aldi for only a few items. I would do 100% of my shopping at this location if it were more affordable. Nonetheless, I will still continue to come here (even after renovations happen!). read more

This is my favorite Publix to go to. Everything is very clean and well laid out. I rarely find things out of stock and in need of a raincheck. If you go on Friday afternoons, a lot of times they have samples throughout the store. What I really love about this Publix is how friendly the employees are. I have been coming here regularly for 3 years now, and the employees have not only gotten to know me but my 3 year old son as well. They treat me like family. They're always willing to help, and always waiting to give stickers or coloring pages to my son. They greet me and genuinely ask how my day has been. I've never had a bad experience here. Attention people who bake breads .... Sadly I have to downgrade the ranking of this Publix on Maguire Road. I went there today for my St. Patricks day shopping and they don't sell caraway seeds. They are no longer stocking them. So imagine that...everyone in Windermere or Ocoee who live near Maguire Road and want to bake Irish Soda bread for St Patricks day will be disappointed if they need a new supply of caraway seeds like I do. On the plus side, I called customer service while I was I the store because no sales people were walking up and down the aisles. They sent twopeople to try to find the caraway seeds. One looked it up and told me that walmart has them and I should go to Walmart. So, word to the wise, before shopping at this Public, go to the website and search for what you are buying to make sure that they are still stocking it. I am afraid that I will have to switch to the Public at the grove on Apopka Vineland from now on. They do still sell caraway seeds. Oh...Amazon sells caraway seeds but you need to plan in advance to order them there. read more

Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you experience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. This particular Publix is also selling Christmas trees outside their location. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities where Publix opens a location are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. Let me start by saying Publix is my go-to store. I've been enjoying their Hot & Spicy wings for a long time. But today's experience was really disappointing. I was waiting at the Deli to grab some wings, and there were about 9 team members around--yet not a single one acknowledged me. It was about 5 helping others customers (fixing subs, cold cuts and cheese), the other standing around laughing and talking. Even if you're on break or heading to one, it's just not a good look to do that right in front of a customer who's clearly waiting for help. A simple "We'll be right with you" would've made all the difference. Really poor customer service today. read more

We LOVE our Publix! The staff there are the absolute best. Many of them recognize the kids and I when we come in and greet us by name. We usually swing through for BOGOs of the week, grab the kiddos their free bakery goodie and a piece of fruit from the free fruit box. If you become a member of their loyalty club, they send you not only coupons but anniversary gifts and other promos. I don't purchase all of my groceries from here because it tends to be more expensive than my other place but I do plan my weekly meals around their buy one get one deals. read more

Funny, I'm a 11 year Yelp Elite who is now doing his (and their) first Yelp review. Whew! I guess I've been waiting for something negative to motivate me to "share" my Publix review? Hope not! BoGo's are sometimes too good to be true, right? Well, I use to "trust" my grocer, but after last week's BoGo's, we're now on guarded terms. The meaning of Buy one, Get one free meaning has apparently become a slippery slope for the Publix Corp. I'll let the two receipts validate this claim for themselves. 4-pc. of Apple is BoGo = 8 total pcs.) for $2.69 * Savings $2.69!! -but- 8-pc of the Guava is $2.99 ea. So now it looks like I only saved 30ç with the BoGo, not the $2.69 that the BoGo and their AD copy implies / reads. To imply the 2nd is "FREE", conveys you are actually getting twice the product for the original price. Not the case if identical products (except for the nothing special fillings) are compared . I'm originally from the West Coast and I've never experienced such great customer service at a grocery establishment as I have at Publix. My husband spent his single days eating sandwiches from here 4x a week. I had my sub from here many times as of late and I will never go back to subway again! I love the fresh bread, the various vegetable fill ins, and the service in general. The sandwich is around $5 and it's worth the wait during peak times. You can also just order online and pick up to save time. In general, here are my Pros( in no particular order): 1) Customer Service- Greeted with a smile and a sanitized cart! 2) Publix app! You can make your grocery list on here and tells you exactly which aisle each item is located. Sign up for the rewards club and you can get $3 off grocery or other deals from time to time 3) Bogo deals! Walmart will never have this and Publix has specials every week on select items 4) Someone that actually bags your groceries! In the west coast, many grocery stores like Safeway you have to bag it yourself. 5) Impossible Meat! This gets sold out fast but glad they offer it nonetheless. 6) For folks who have trouble putting heavy groceries in their car, Publix employees will happily assist you. 7) Publix sandwiches! The meat section looked very good, the produce also looked very clean and fresh, and the bakery still had plenty of rolls left, even at 4 in the afternoon. What I love about this location is the great service. People seem generally happy here and will help you out. There is a great olive bar at this location, as well as the blockbuster rental box. Love the buy one get one free promotions, and the deli has great subs!!! What I find interesting here is the amount of kids promoting and selling different things outside the store. I almost wanted to avoid this location because I felt the girl scouts were really aggressive this year. I saw one woman who said, "They got me at Sam's" when approached about cookies. I thought it was a great line and decided to use it on my next approach. In addition, a lot of boy scouts with popcorn and various other kids raising money for sporting groups can be seen camped out at the doors. read more

I shop usually at the Publix at Conroy and apopka but went into this one to get bananas to drop off at a clients house nearby. It was just the one thing so I didn't bring in any reusable bags since I figured I could just use the bag to leave the bananas in for my client. The lady who helped me was rather rude about me not having a reusable bag. I've been to other Publix's and never had anyone push so hard. She told me I should really get some to which I told her yes I have some in my car. Then she went on to lecture me about the how I really need to use them,how it's better and they are encouraging people to. Which I get I do but it was 8am I was getting one thing for a client and I don't want to be lectured about one plastic bag and have to explain to someone why I chose that. I feel really all that had to be said was would you like to buy a reusable bag we are encouraging people to buy and use them more. Which then I can reply no I don't need to buy one and the topic dropped. read more

I don't think I have ever been to a Publix I didn't enjoy but this one took the cake...or should I say sandwich. Ok so I know that was really cheesy but I have barely any 'funny' reviews so I had to try. I'm guessing that joke won't get me any more.....I digress So I wanted a quick dinner and stopped here for a Publix Deli Sub. The encounter was nothing short of amazing customer service at its finest. I was served by the Deli Manager, or was it assistant manger.....well he should be the manager if hes not. He: - acknowledged me while I was waiting online to state he would be with me shortly -recommended I try cheddar on my sub (I had asked for american, he was right on the money) he then cut the cheese fresh -managed his employees at the same time (someone had asked another employee to cook raw chicken from the meat section and they had never done this before), -printed out the label so I could go wait online to pay for my sub while it was being toasted -cracked jokes the entire time he was serving me (they were about on par with mine in the opening sentence but so what) And to top it off it was just before the deli starts to close up everything and I didn't see the smile come off his face once! Third time that I get skipped on the line for the register. What is happening is that the mostly teenager persons handling the register when they see a buddy of them they call them over. This happened at the customer service line today around 7:45pm, there was only one register, there was a older lady in front of me dealing with some returns, I was waiting patiently behind her, and then a second register open which should have called me over. But not the teenager behind me went there called over by his friend behind the register. A manager also kind of young was there, and didn't do anything. I called him over and complaint but he made up some story that did not make sense. Hope they address this issue, or more negative reviews will come there way. read more

Each year for my son's birthday, I bring the most complicated/odd cake requests to the bakery. And every year, this Publix bakery goes above and beyond to make it happen. They are always enthusiastic about the project and always deliver an outstanding cake! Aside from their 5-star bakery, this Publix is always clean and the employees are always friendly and helpful. I have shopped at this Publix on Maguire Road in Ocoee since it opened...I use to enjoy shopping, as much as you can, at this particular location.....A few months back I noticed a difference in the store..Empty shelves, missing items,and the employees standing around and talking! Then I found out that the Original Sore Manager Jay retired...that explained everything..He was an incredible store manager and very nice person..He cared, the store was run to perfection...what a loss I am very unsatisfied with the way the store is run now.
