When I first placed the order, bakery employee told me it was not a problem to have a small bag of buttercream icing on the side for me to add-on my own decorations once I receive the cake. When I called the morning of, no notes about icing on the side. Told me that I couldn't have it. I persisted and asked again, was on hold, finally got back to me and said they could do it but it was an extra $4 and that they'll NEVER do this again. First employee told me that it wouldn't be a problem and that they'll make sure it'll be on the side for me.... Regardless of that whole situation, my cake was able to be picked up early, I did buy a tiny bag of $4 buttercream to decorate my own cake, and the cake did taste delicious. I got brown butter cookie crunch frosting with vanilla cake and fresh strawberries on the inside with white buttercream on the outside. Everyone looooved the brown butter cookie crunch. Then made and placed the paper water decorations on myself.

Rave: do NOT leave the store with one of the new blueberry handpies. This is probably the best handpie I've ever had. I popped it in the airfryer and it came out so flaky and gooey. Not insanely sweet either. Wish I bought more of them. Ate it too quickly to get a photo so I looked one up, it's wrapped in parchment paper and in a basket next to the donuts.

Staff go out of their way to smile and ask if they can help, the selections are amaaaaazing, tons of LOCAL products, bulk products, a bakery that actually bakes their breads, and the cafe is fantastic (bowls, subs, soups, even lobster rolls!). They carry some organic products, and have "just okay" sales, mostly meat - although I got some beautiful avocados for .50. Today they're giving out ice cream cones for Labour Day.
