Place lives up to its name! While it can feel a little touristy due to its proximity to the cruise ships, we did arrive on a cruise ship after all.... Service was great, interior is no-frills and feels like you're on a dock. My only complaint was they kept the doors open when it wasn't exactly warm out. But what really matters, the FOOD, was amazing! Not only was it delicious but it came out pretty quick. I also loved the selection of homemade sauces you can add to your order (for a charge). They have a decent beer selection of local craft brews, too!

Halibut fish and chips.. tasty.. but too pricey for what it was plus paired with bad customer service

Saw I left a bad review, I returned, and I need to update my review. Awesome fish and chips company. I have been here twice. First experience was meh, but that was 5+ years ago. My second experience was phenomenal. They have fair prices. There is a nice view of the Gastineau Channel from the eating area. The halibut fish and chips were very tasty. The fish batter was done just right. The batter was not too crunchy nor soggy. The fish itself was excellent. Not too fishy tasting. It was moist. The coleslaw was good. It had a slight jalapeño flavor to it. The French fries were the skinny fries with seasoning. They were tasty. Not too potato-ey. They also serve local Alaskan hard seltzers. Both were good. The smoked salmon chowder was also excellent. I forgot to take a picture of it, but it was so good. Full of flavor. It was the best salmon chowder I've ever had. I've never tried anything like it before, we don't have this type of chowder where I am from. Defiantly a good local eat. I will definitely return next time I am in Juneau.

Food was okay. Portion sizes were a bit small. I sat outside and the area was nice and a good location for socializing over food. Being near water is always ideal for me. Service was fast and professional.

Delicious fish and chips! The food was great and the outdoor seating was very nice. It is right by where small planes land. The fish was fresh and crispy and the chips were perfect! I would recommend and service was great! A must in Juneau!

Life's too short, try the flight, taste them all.

Stopped into Alaska Fish & Chips Company after a bike excursion, where a beer flight was included as part of the package. The service was very friendly, and the staff made us feel welcome right away. I didn't try any food, so I can't speak to the fish and chips, but the beer selection was solid with a nice variety of local options. Each pour was fresh and tasty, and it was a great way to relax after being out on the bikes. Definitely a fun stop if you're looking for good beer in a casual waterfront setting.

This a Smoked Chowda review! Yelped spots in Juneau while on a cruise stop. We passed by AFCC near the downtown transit center b4 heading to the glacier. After 5 miles of walking we needed a beer and hot soup! Asked the bartender about a local craft beer listed on the menu posted near the door but they didn't carry it anymore. Just Alaskan brewing beers on tap. 6-8 as i recall. Posted on an Untapped menu board tv. We had a Kolsh and IPA. Both good for weary soles! My wife asked Rod for some recommendations for food, like other restaurants (yikes) but he played the good local and offered up suggestions. On the way out I asked about one of the micro breweries a couple blocks away. He said their ipa was exceptional. It was and that brewery and their beers were Incredible. Now the Chowder! Saving the BEST for last. It was world class. A rich smokey complex salmon colored thick soup garnished with salmon chunks. It was just so good, like ask for the recipe good. We should have gotten a second cup, but this was just a late afternoon snack. I saw good Yelp reviews about the fish and some quirky ones on service, The dining room is decent size with a pretty nothing special feel but our eat at the bar experience was Excellent .

Locally caught and smoked salmon. (Top) Fried Halibut was so flakey and delicate.

Fresh caught Halibut was a first for me, really enjoyed how delicate this fish was. It's amazing how Alaska Fish & Chips Company provides such a quaint Alaskan experience. Their service accommodates the crowds in a decently quick pace. Everyone at Alaska Fish were polite, quick to answer our questions, and attentive to all the tables around us. Great little full service bar at Alaska Fish had local beers available. Such a cool little place to experience fresh caught salmon and Halibut.

The fish is fantastic. Stick with it. Another cruise and we visited this restaurant again because of our prior visit last year. This year my husband again ordered the halibut fish and chips and loved it. Again he couldn't eat all the fries because it is such a large portion. I went with the chicken sandwich and was disappointed. My bad for ordering chicken at a fish restaurant. This year they had serve yourself refills on the sodas and it seemed like more local beers. The service was slower and the woman serving seemed to be having a rough day. I look pictures of the restaurant so you can see the outdoor, port side seating and the bar.

The food was terrific and the service matched. There are a lot of restaurants around Juneau that say they have the best King Crab in town but I assure you that Alaska Fish and Chips is slept on. Do yourself a favor and make a visit to compare. You won't be disappointed. The food was fresh, fast, and made with love. I will be back

Stopped by while off our cruise and man I thought the fish and chips were pretty great. I got them with a side of their boom boom sauce. The fries were tiny but were great. I brought a very picky friend of mine and he really enjoyed his meal ( halibut and chips) service was great and drinks never ran dry. It's a pretty small in the inside but that was definitely not a minus and there is plenty of outside seating. If you're in the area swing on by for some good eatin'

While this isn't my favorite (try Sandbar), the fish is fresh and it's pretty hard to complain. Another win for fish and chips in the area. The shape of the potatoes is a bit weird looking, but surprisingly it works and they were nice and crispy. I did think the fish batter was a tad doughy on the inside, and yet a little overcooked on the outside. Not the end of the world though, and I still enjoyed it. We did stop by during the week for lunch and the truck was closed, which was a bit annoying. One of the brewery employees said this place doesn't always open reliably, for various reasons. Just something to be aware of. Better luck on the weekends. Overall it's a nice spot right next to the Alaskan Brewing Company, which has lots of great beers and a nice patio spot out back to eat your fish, have a beer, and hang out with your dog. Yum!

We ordered 1 lb of king crab, the halibut fish tacos, and I paired my meal with an Alaskan Amber beer. Everything we came for was excellent. The king crab was fresh, sweet, and cooked perfectly. The halibut tacos were flavorful, with generous portions of fish, and the Alaskan Amber was the perfect local beer to go with the meal. The beans and rice that came with the tacos, however, were just okay. I didn't have high expectations for the sides, and they were pretty forgettable compared to the quality of the seafood. One thing that surprised us was how busy the restaurant was. It's a bit of a walk down the wharf, so I expected smaller crowds, but the place was packed. Despite arriving around 8:40 p.m., well past the peak dinner rush, we were seated without any issues. Even though they were still serving a full restaurant with other parties waiting, we never felt rushed, which we really appreciated. If you're in Juneau and craving fresh seafood, I'd definitely recommend making the walk. The king crab and halibut are absolutely worth it.
