My husband and I were so looking forward to going back to this restaurant the coconut shrimp is awesome and the servers are usually on point. After weeks of trying to get a day off we made it back last Tuesday at 4:00 looking forward to a few cold beers and shrimp with a great view of the water. Sat down right away only two other tables so it was not busy at all. Our server came over gave us our menu and said she would be right back. She came back out and brought drinks to the table right next to us. Ignored us and went back inside. Then she came out to the other table. And again she never even asked for our drink order. Well after 15 min of this we got up and left as we were already out in the parking lot . And she yells BYE HAVE A GOOD ONE!! Seriously? That was beyond rude.. needless to say we won't be going back any time soon. We will give them another try eventually. read more

We try to stop by for a bite to eat whenever we're downtown, view, service and food is all good.

My husband and I go to puddle jumpers quite often and we enjoy it to its fullest never had a problem so I took a friend of mine there for lunch the other day. She has quite a few allergies and she asked about the turkey wrap if it was made with regular lettuce or mixed greens because she's allergic to mustard greens that is in it and other greens that is in it. The waitress told her no no no it will be with just regular lettuce. So she ordered the wrap she took two bites out of it and then looked and there was the greens in it that she cannot eat it was not Romain lettuce as they had said she would get.That basically put an end to our lunch date because she was having trouble breathing at that point and she needed a Benadryl. Told the waitress we needed the check she went out and got the peoples food next to us and brought that out to them and student talk to them as my girlfriend was having more trouble with clearing her throat and trying to breathe and itching. Told her we needed the bill right away as she walked by she brought us the bill and she did take the sandwich off and I took the second half home to my husband. Something that they don't pay close attention to I don't think she went in and specified to them in the back that it was an allergy situation to make sure that it was only lettuce. Not only that I cannot drive at this time because of an injury so she had to drive us to a store is close so she could get to to get the Benadryl. She had changed purses before she left her house in the morning and had forgotten her Benadryl and her EpiPen. That would not have been an issue if the waitress had taken the time to make sure it was only Romain lettuce and the state allergy to the kitchen. Could not believe that the manager did not come out and speak to her. To say the least she will not be going back it'll be a little while before I go back also. I love the Asian salad and it was just drenched in salad dressing. read more

This would be a 5 star review if it weren't for the manager on duty, Angela. We had a larger group, but our 90 year old grandparents received their food almost an hour after the rest of our party. Rather than apologizing, Angela felt the need to rattle off a list of excuses. She even went as far as offending the birthday girl, a 60 year old blind woman. I can't make this up. Angela argued with a blind woman to her face about a meal that took an hour for her 90 year old parents. As someone with over a decade of restaurant experience, I can say without a doubt that Angela should not be anywhere near a restaurant, let alone running one. read more

Great area by the water. Most people were sitting outside where they had live music and a bar. A couple groups brought their dogs. We ordered a kids chicken plate, 9 wings, two side salads and the Pitadillas. It was a little warm inside. The ac was on 77 with low running ceiling fans. The wings were a bit fatty. I eat there on a regular basis because I love sitting outdoors and enjoying the lake view and lake activities. Great servers and service. The food is good and they even have a vegan option. They try to accommodate their patrons. In season, the wait to get in can sometimes be longer than I like, but I take a walk and enjoy the waterfront while I wait. read more

We were on the hunt for steak and dark beer to appease my grumpy hubby on this very rainy evening when I found Puddle Jumpers on Yelp. We had walked around Mount Dora downtown and sat down in two different restaurants already so there was no way I was continuing the hunt further. Turns out this was the best decision of the night. We were greeted immediately upon entry and directed to sit either in the bar or lounge area. Being a Sunday evenind the fact that it was pouring outside, there was plenty of seats of available. Hubby got his beer (no darks available, not even Guiness) and the surf and turf steak with shrimp. I opted for the mahi bites with housemade kettle chips and coleslaw. We also ordered onion rings for the appetizer. Both of us gasped when those onion rings were brought out not expecting this huge tower of goodness. They were marvelous! Not that panko breaded crap, but hand dipped batter, piping hot, delicious. A few minutes later our main courses arrived. All tasty and perfect. We left full, happy and smiling. I enjoyed my food. We went on St. Patty's Day and the food was ok. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich. My biggest issue here was the service, it started out great but when the bartender had some people she knew come in, it was like we no longer existed. It was a slow night for her in the upstairs bar area. So that's my issue. Not sure how this place was slow compared to the other places that was really busy on a drinking holiday. Seeing the seaplane in front of the restaurant we had to stop. The place was unique inside with great out door sitting with a view of the lake. Chris our waiter, what a doll and very helpful too. He pointed out the favorites of what people usually order. The coconut shrimp was 1 of the items. 6 huge shrimps breaded and lightly fried. They were delicious and did not disappointed. Homemade kettle chips and onion rings with onions that were not wimpy little slices. Husband ordered the crab cakes, 3 to the order. They were also fired and tasty too. Fresh broccoli and Cole slaw great and we were told we could get seconds if we desired. I'm not much into fried foods, but Chris told me the secret was the peanut oil. I really enjoyed Puddle Jumpers. I ate here twice recently, each time I enjoyed a good cocktail and an excellent meal. Once with the brie burger and another time I ordered the mandarin salad, because, you know, balance :). Both were very delicious and I recommend a side of the sweet potato tater tots as well! I'm a pilot, so I absolutely geeked out at the view. I ate at the bar both times, once inside and once outside. I removed one star because at my first visit I was told there was a 15 minute wait...but there were many empty tables inside! The hostess was a tad rude as well. Pretty good food, mediocre at best though. Fries where tasty with a good seasoning. Cod was flaky and good but was cod.......the service lacked big time though very sad. We sat outside, but when you walked inside. The smell was really bad. This was the door towards the parking lot. So you entered right beside the bar. Being a visitor to the state, it doesn't seem very safe for a place of business to be open during this time if they cannot adhere to basic safety procedures. No social distancing going on at all in the restaurant and no masks/face coverings. While in town my friend suggested meeting here and I'm glad he did! Bloody Mary was good with horseradish adding a bite. Friend's sangria, good. Ordered crab cakes, really delicious with the panko breading; shrimp basket scrumptious; and chips with beer cheese nice change from nachos. Will be back in the future. read more
