The best sesame bagels I've found in the area. Started buying their bagels last season as a regular vendor at the Sunday Farmer's Market in Milwaukie. Then discovered their cart in the nearby Milwaukie Station Cart Pod for year round purchases. They have a good selection of hand rolled and boiled bagels and I typically pick up a half dozen with a mix of sesame, cinnamon raisin, and jalapeno cheese. As mentioned above, the sesame are particularly outstanding as it appears they toast the seeds which makes a lovely flavor difference from other brands. Fresh bagels are $8.00 for a half dozen and are lovely and soft. You can also purchase a half dozen day olds for $4.00. Those come as a mixed bag so you can't choose the types. Good selection of spreads, bagel sandwich options and large dessert items and drinks. Only downside is the inconsistent service at this location. read more

Puddletown has some of the best bagels in Portland. They're soft and fluffy and because of this, Puddletown is usually our go-to spot. With that said, we have also experienced severe quality control issues, particularly at this location, moreso than any other restaurant I have ever been to. Our order is more-often-than-not incorrect, missing items, or has questionable quality. Sometimes the cream cheese is overflowing out of the sides of the bagel, and other times it's barely a smear on one side. Sometimes I receive a beautiful half and avocado, and other times it's a brown mushy smudge. Today I simply ordered a baker's dozen + cream cheese and one of my bagels was missing. And these issues have unfortunately been happening for years. I used to order regularly via DoorDash but had to submit so many order error inquiries that DoorDash accused me of abusing their refund policy and refused to remedy any other order issues on my account (even though I provided photos every time). Unfortunately ordering directly from the restaurant is no better as they have no email communication and provide no remedy for errors. Because of these issues, we've unfortunately had to significantly reduce our visit frequency and now stick to ordering only bulk bagels, with the anticipation that something will likely still be missing. The good thing about these guys is that there are three convenient locations and one of them is close to us in Milwaukie. Ok, seriously. 04/17/21: 4.5 out of 5 - This is Puddletown Bagel's Milwaukie location that opened not too long ago. Maybe even a few days ago from the date of this review. My Saturday Running Group and I came here after our morning run, and was pleasantly surprised by Puddletown Bagels. This was the first time we have tried the Milwaukie Food Station pods. The owners were very nice and accommodating. They were quick to get the order down and the food and coffee & espresso made. There is a some very good choices of 12 bagels and spreads that would allow an amazing array of combinations. On top of that you would have options of going with a breakfast combo, sandwich, or just keeping it simple. Bagels are made fresh daily, which they are mixed, hand-rolled, boiled and baked. Pretty impressive! Be aware of their espresso drinks. I had the Mocha which was delicious, but be aware that it's very hot. Burn your tongue hot. At the end of the meal, the real question isn't "was it good?", but moreso, "would you go back?". My answer: Absolutely! Food is good if your order is actually made on time. Placed my online order at 12:50, message told me it would be ready by 1:05-1:15. Didn't get my order until 1:50 because the workers were on break. Waited outside the window for over 30 minutes and the worker inside didn't even acknowledge we were there. I could understand if it was a busy day and they were behind but there was no one else in line and the worker was just on his phone. We've given this place several chances over the past year but this was the last straw. Talk about phoning it in. $4.75 for a toasted bagel and cream cheese and the thing is cold, not toasted, and a magnifying glass is required to see the one teaspoon of cream cheese. A bagel is $2 on the menu so I guess the additional $2.75 doesn't really get you much other than the obvious lack of concern over what they're serving to their customers. Our other item was wrong, as well. I guess they don't actually read the orders when they're placed? The customer service is always terrible at this place, as well. Unfriendly and apathetic at best.
