Having been to the previous occupant of this space, I was very impressed with the new decor and…read morecreative menu. We were the sole diners @ 2 in the afternoon. Another table arrived midway through our meal. Service was good, but could change if they were stressed. We had ordered the pork croquettes, but later found they were not available, so opted for the corn fritters which had also sparked some interest. The jalapeños were present but not hot. Not bad, but didn't love them, they were a little overdone and just needed something. The seasoned honey butter didn't help much. The Not Shepherds pie needed some gravy. Solid pieces of roast beef were delicious, there were mashed potatoes (partner said they tasted instant) and they needed gravy. Mashed potatoes are fine, but gravy makes them divine. The Clementine salad was a series of contradictions. Highlight was the oranges, tasted fresh, not canned, were tender tasty with no seeds. Downhill started with the candied almonds. Sliced, toasted with a caramelized sweetness and an off taste. It haunted me and I finally realized the taste was rosemary and it did not marry well. Our server later confirmed it through the chef. The arugula which normally stands up through any dressing was wilted and limp. The goat cheese and pickled onions were nice, but I was suspecting all ingredients for that off taste. I tried the duck taco cause I love chimichuri. It was ok, the duck was tasty, but didn't have the brightness that I expected from the chimichuri. I still have high hopes and will return.

Went on Saturday for lunch, and it was ok. Not bad, not great just middle of the road. Corn fritters were quite nice, but just slightly overcooked. My pastrami was quite good, but a touch greasy. The roast beef sandwich's were good, but on the tough side from overcooking. ( a theme with our food...). Service was great! All said, I would go back again and try some more of the offerings.

A coworker is a Grind regular, so when we were looking for a place for lunch on our way to the…read moreoutlets, I figured we'd give it a try. And it was an excellent choice! I had a SmashBurger and it was perfect... the right crunch, perfect amount of cheese, and the BBQ sauce was a nice touch. Hubs had the Grind signature burger. He was also pleased but felt it was a little dry. Our friends had the Grinder w/ chicken meatballs and arrabbiata sauce, the Meatball Bowl w/ beef over squash (said the squash was the best thing ever) w/ bacon Gouda, and the Italian Melt (delicious but rich!). Four of us had fries and they are absolutely the perfect fry - pure potato taste! There was also 2 bowls of loaded baked potato soup and 2 bourbon flights for us! Everything got 2 thumbs up. We don't live nearby but we'll be back! PS... the value is there... it's priced just right!

We appreciated that there were gluten free options for some of our family members in attendance. We also loved the drink menu -- there were lots to choose from, including specialty cocktails and a full bourbon list. The overall ambiance was rustic and relaxed. There are three separate rooms -- bar room, lounge, and the waterwheel room that was brighter (where we sat). We definitely will be coming back!
