Horrible Shitty service never going back there again called for a pick up order 20 before I got there it turned out my order had not been put up yet and I had to wait an extra 20 min I asked if I was going to get a discount for the inconvenience, with a nasty attitude the waitress turned and said no and if I was going to want the food or not that they were really busy (not my problem). I had a horrible experience. Server was new and made up answers to all of my questions. Service was slow 30 min wait with only 4 tables in the restaurant. When the food came it was bland. Upon checking out I was charged for a large margarita but server never asked what size I wanted. Manager was rude and seemed annoyed that I had a bad experience. Will NEVER give them business again. Best best best Margaritas in Logan Sq. I love coming here after work to wine down and have a margarita with some tacos or guacamole. Many time a stat and have a full dinner. Best carne asada tacos in the Chicagoland area. Big, cheap margaritas! It's really priced well. Its great to get food at any time of the day. This place was horrible! I love Mexican food so decided to try the place because I was attracted to the appearance which was honestly the best thing about it. We ordered margaritas to start and it tasted like cheap tequila and a cheap margarita mix. The chips and salsa was mediocre. I ordered a combo platter with taco, tamale and enchilada. The tamale was bland and very dry and crumbly and I couldn't even finish it. We then asked for the check and the waitress said she couldn't split it so we put a dollar amount on one card and the rest on another. When we got our cards back she charged the amounts wrong and did the opposite of what we said. Maybe it was because she barely spoke English and didn't understand but then they had no line to tip on the credit card. We asked our waitress how we could tip and she said tips were cash only. I was already pissed with everything so far but my friend felt bad so he went to the ATM in the restaurant and was charged two fees for taking out money just to tip! When we asked the lady behind the counter why they didn't accept credit card tips she said because people would tip the waitresses less that way. I said no, it's the opposite, barely anyone keeps cash on them nowadays and your charging people double just to tip with that stupid ATM charging fees just to get cash out. They really need to get with the times and accept credit card tips for their own workers sake because everything about that place is BS. Probably one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. First of all, the atmosphere of the place is complete cafeteria style, it feels like you're in elementary school. We were seated promptly, which was good. The chips were so-so and the salsa/sauce tasted like something from an expired jar, or a mixture of ketchup and hot sauce. They have maybe 2 vegeterian options, for those of you who care. That's it. All the other 50 items had meat in them. My chile relleno was horrible: two dinky and tiny peppers, saturated in grease and overcooked to the point that I couldn't swallow them. Mexican food isn't exactly hard to come by in Logan Square, however Puebla is probably the most bang for your buck. Whether I order the al pastor gorditas or their mole suizo, I'm happy every time. Not to mention they make a damn good burrito. That being said, if you just wanted to sit and sip margarritas and relax at their full service tequila bar you'd be well taken care of too. $22 for a pitcher of mango margarritas works for me. This is my go to spot of after a night of boozing, it is in the perfect location to stumble home from if you live near the square. I usually either get the lengua burrito or steak burrito, both of which are pretty consistently good. I have also had the al pastor tacos which are pretty good. I have also had their mexican rice, but to be honest, it just seemed like it was just made earlier and just heated up in a microwave. I am going to say this is not the best mexican food I have had, but I haven't had a bad experience at this place. The lengua burrito I had the first time here blew my mind, granted this was at 3:00AM, but still. This will always be my late night go to spot in logan square. read more

I seriously don't know how this place is still open. First of all this place is never busy yet it seems that the servers take for ever to come around your table. That is why I always sit at the bar when I go. I'd also like to mention that I've been going to this place for years, despite the negative feedback I get from friends who I take for their first time. This place needs to review their Liquor Licence permint. I've never been or heard of places where they claim to have last call at 3 am but you must chug your drink before 3 or else they take away your drink. We got there at 2:30 am and wanted to have one last drink with tacos before we called it a night. The server came around 2:55 and told us that at 3 she was going to remove our drinks. We were outraged, we refused to have to chug our drinks just because they are ignorant with knowing the law. After that it just got ugly with the servers, who called us names and told us to just leave after we refused to comply with their ignorance. OK after 3 we won't order any more drinks, but we got these before 3 and I have every right to take my sweet ass time to drink it, especially if you are open 24 hours. Other than that, the food is OK. This place really only caters to white people (sorry to throw u guys under the bus). But there are way better quality Mexican food out there. The service is way worse than mediocre. The only decent thing about this place is that it's big and it gives it a "Mexicany" feel to it. With this said, sorry Puebla, you lost a years long loyal customer. I hope when you realize that your business isn't good, something better is built in your place. read more

I was on the hunt for some pozole in Chicago and a friend of mine suggested the Puebla Restaurant. I ordered pozole and an Horchata. The service for getting my food was relatively quick. I enjoyed my meal and it looked like my other friends who got combination/dinner platters enjoyed their meal as well. They had enchiladas, tacos, and a combo plate which included tamal and enchilda. The food is good. The service was the issue. Went there on a Sunday night, it was somewhat busy. The server, Dan, was polite, and for the most part fine. Near the end of the dinner asked for more sauce for the chips, and he never brought it. Waited for a while, he never came back, not even to give me the check. Had to go up to the front and ask them to run the check, I gave them the credit card and then someone else brought it back. The menu on Yelp here is outdated. I was craving for Arepas, and my boyfriend craved menudo. Imagine when I showed up and asked the waitress. First off, the place was super empty on a Sunday. There was no music playing. The place looked nice, except for the cake case, which looked dirty. There were no Arepas, and the menu was completely different than the one listed. I ordered the Aztec soup with pork rinds, and what do I get, one piece of it! It tasted sour for some reason...I ordered a Tamal. The pork and tamal were super dry. Puebla hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner, buffet-style for 50 people and it was amazing! Maria, the owner/manager, was very accommodating and easy to work with. On the day of the party, the food was delicious and the service was great. Maria threw in an ensalada de nopales at no extra cost the day of. The margaritas were huge and refreshing. my friends and i stopped in here because it was so close to Logan Theatre and we had a taste for Mexican - and we still do! atmosphere lacking, banquettes were old with electrical tape on the seats, the waitress was not bilingual enough to fully understand orders. i must say one of us had the snapper - the whole fish - and it was well-seasoned but dried out. i ordered chicken soup and it came in a large bowl of limp broth with huge pieces of chicken including shriveled skin with equally huge hunks of potatoes and carrots ... i would not recommend to anyone for any reason ... sadly as it is my 'hood with so many quality latin restaurants. read more

I found this place after getting stranded at O'Hare on night. I hopped the blue line and lucked out that Logan Square was the stop I chose to get off. I had the biggest Margarita ever (large), since I wasn't driving, why not. There was even entertainment as a Hispanic family was celebrating a birthday, after 2 am! Don't recall much about the food but it didn't suck. Had the beef fajitas, always a safe bet, hard to screw up. Can't wait 'til I get stranded again, this is where I will go. read more
