As I gave him my card to pay, He did the bare minimum to try to reach for it and I had to over extend myself so he can take it ( I am pregnant & visibly so ). He takes the card,charges and when he gives the card back, the same thing, does the bare minimum to give it back. His attitude was very snobby and didn't give "that's what hamburgers all about". I asked for an extra box before leaving and he gave me the box with attitude, I'm assuming because I disrupted the conversation he was having with his coworkers. For our food,Our order was wrong, we asked for cheese burgers,one with no onion or tomato the other as is. When we left to eat our burgers down the road, we saw BOTH burgers had no cheese (which we were charged for) & one burger had tomato. It was upsetting to see that an establishment we normally go to and have no issues with, gave us both disappointing customer service & food service. Oh, to top it off, I didn't receive a receipt to be able to go back & let them know about the mistake they had made on our food.

Then the food took an unnecessarily long time as well, despite there being very few customers waiting and plenty of employees working. At one point, a tall employee in the back was repeatedly telling everyone to hurry up and "lock in." You know it's bad when the employees themselves have to tell everyone to work. He clearly seemed frustrated having to angrily remind his coworkers to make a dirty dr pepper. and how things were just running in general, but he wasn't even the manager. The actual manager was mostly standing off to the side watching everything happen without stepping in to help. The worst part was seeing a man standing at the cashier waiting to get his order for basically the entire time I was there. He was very noticeable and even politely waved to try to get someone's attention, but he still wasn't acknowledged. I understand that restaurants can get busy and things happen, but this honestly felt like a lack of organization and communication rather than simply being short-staffed or busy.

Since I do not like tofu, I politely asked the employee serving me, Austin, if he could provide the eggplant with little or no tofu. Austin immediately told me that he could not do that and that the dish had to be served with tofu. Unsatisfied with the response, I approached the cashier, Hannah, and asked if I could speak with the manager. Hannah responded professionally and asked if she could help first. She listened to my concern, treated me respectfully, and attempted to assist me. I even complimented her by saying that she demonstrated excellent customer service and that I would hire someone with her attitude anytime. After hearing my compliment to Hannah, Austin appeared upset. Instead of focusing on serving customers, he approached Hannah and confronted her. He then went to find the manager, Ken. I found this behavior unprofessional and inappropriate, especially in front of customers. I even have a photograph showing part of this interaction. When Manager Ken came out, I explained my concern regarding Austin's attitude and lack of customer service. After some discussion, Ken eventually agreed to provide the eggplant dish with only a small amount of tofu. This demonstrated that a reasonable accommodation could have been made from the beginning. My concern is not the food itself but the manner in which I was treated. Austin seemed more interested in defending himself and discussing the matter with coworkers and management than serving customers. His behavior created an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflected poorly on the restaurant. I would like this matter reviewed and hope that additional customer service training can be provided. On the other hand, I would like to commend Hannah for her professionalism, patience, and excellent customer service. Chicken, Beef, Pork with rice and beans While I waited for my order, I listened to the music playing in the background. There were a number of people that came in and picked up orders that they had phoned in or placed online. The staff was busy checking orders for pickup or taking care of the diners at the tables. They called my name and carefully double checked my order with me, before I left. When I arrived home, the fragrance of the fresh cooked food filled my kitchen. All the items were incredible! I was especially pleased with the cheese spice and flavor of the chicken nachos. I was able to add some of their fresh made salsa to add some extra kick. The enchiladas were incredible. The fajita plate (shrimp, beef, and chicken) was passable but nothing special. What really ended it for us were the hidden fees. We ordered the fajita plate $30 (+ taxes) a massive spread with a separate plate of rice and beans and they brought out THREE corn tortillas. THREE... I am Mexican. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants in my lifetime and have never been given only three tortillas for a plate that size. We asked for more tortillas and were charged $4 with zero warning. It's not about the money it's the principle. The charge was never disclosed. When I brought it up with the owner, Lupita, she was dismissive and couldn't explain the reasoning it's not even homemade tortillas. You can literally buy 90 tortillas for $4 at a grocery store! She took off one of the charges but kept the other $2. Meanwhile, they offer unlimited chips and complimentary salsa without blinking. The inconsistency is baffling. We genuinely wanted to support this family-run restaurant we loved seeing the family come in together. But the disrespect during that conversation made it impossible to leave on good terms. Do yourself a favor and drive about a 1.5 miles down the street to El Metate. Their large shrimp cocktail is $15, is so flavorful, and the staff treats you like family. Their pozole is outstanding too. We found them on our first failed attempt to come here and we'll be going back to them exclusively from now on. We will never return to Lupita's and made it clear to not go there in our community thread with 15K people. Unless you like hidden fees and mediocre tasteless overpriced food then this is your place otherwise...don't come here.
