Making the long drive from Whitefish, Montana to Boise, Idaho on a road trip with my husband and our two dogs, we stopped at Pueblo Lindo for dinner. We placed our order to-go since we had our dogs with us, andand ate in the parking lot. Not the most glamorous, but you do what you have to do. My husband ordered a Carne Asada burrito and I decided to try their birria. My husband said the burrito was tasty and had plenty of Carne Asada inside. The birria was good, but unlike any I have ever tried before. It was a sort of make-your-own tacos approach with the stew meat in a sauce and the tortillas, onions, and cilantro on the side. It was tasty and will definitely hit the spot when you are hungry. All in all, a good Mexican joint if you find yourself in the area or passing through, like we were, and in a pinch for dinner. read more

We had a great meal here. Atmosphere is a very standard Mexican restaurant but both items we got were amazing. My wife had the Pollo Crema which was delicious and I had the Chili Verde. Formerly a Holy Cow on Old State Street in Eagle, Pueblo Lindo has recently opening with a nice refresh of the exterior and interior and the same large menu at McCall and Meridian plus a lunch specific menu. Service for our large group was excellent, kept up with requests for drinks, more tortilla chips, salsa. We arrived at 11:15 and by noon the place was packed. Facility and service is a solid four stars, food is pretty much good, but nothing outstanding. Favorite is the chili verde pork. I've also ordered a sampler plate, a tamal ( good size, filling balance of masa and meat) a Chile Rellano (light on cheese) and shredded beef enchilada ( excellent beef, odd sweet dark red sauce) with the typical beans and rice. read more

Interesting Mexican food in Mc Call, Idaho! Good but a bit different my fav here is their habanero salsa - tasty and hot! You do need to request it and if you enjoy spicy this is for you! Grabbed take out at Pueblo Linda during our last stay in McCall, Idaho. We ordered many different items for a large party and they were quick and efficient getting our orders ready for take out. The quality of the food seemed fine for McCall, but it didn't hit the spot for us for Mexican food. In particular we found their food exceedingly salty, especially the Mexican rice served with combination platters and burritos, and their salty refried beans. One dissappointing dish was an order of fajitas (we got both carne asada and chicken) which at some places can sometimes be a somewhat lighter crispy vegetable and grilled meat dish, but here was not. Instead cooked in a salty tomato sauce, the dish is extremely acidic, and the vegetables and meat are sauce-laden and overcooked. Mexican food is a staple for us, but our meal just didn't quite hit the spot. This is a-okay, middle of the road Mexican food. read more

My fiancé and I came here with our two boys to celebrate our engagement that took place earlier in the day at Ponderosa State Park. We were certainly in a celebratory mood, and started with a couple of margaritas. A word of caution: be careful with these! They are big and strong like an Idahoan elk. This place was buzzing with people, yet the service was fast and efficient. All of our food was very good. Nothing was particularly unique, but all of the food was well prepared and well presented, and what you would expect of good Tex-Mex style cuisine. Good food and good service. Usual menu items for a Mexican restaurant, no daily specials or highlighted dishes. The chocolate sauce on my enchilada was very different, probably an acquired taste experience. My only complaint about this visit was the $1.25 charge for more salsa. The small bowl of salsa that came with the chips at the beginning of our meal was only half full and not enough for two people. I was very surprised to see this charge on my bill. The menu did say there would be a $2 charge for a second basket of chips but I've never been charged for more salsa. It's not like I requested a large to go container. read more

Two stars for the kitchen - a nice effort with some authentic seasoning in both the meatball soup and the pork carnitas. Questionable freshness of the pork. You see, some pieces of pork were just cubes of fat, some pieces of pork were hard and dry, and some tender and flavorful. Sauce and peppers were delightful. The rest of the experience was below average from the watered down manufactured margaritas to the service from our comical server (who kept trying to serve me jumbo Margs and 30 oz beers).
