Came here for dinner for the first time last Sunday. Atmosphere inside restaurant was very open and spacious, sat at table with a nice ocean view. Food overall was very good! Had the Beef Empanadas appetizer - the dough was flaky and meat inside was tender. The Pescado a Lo Macho was our favorite main dish, very unique, liked the presentation of the fried fish on the plate. The fish was crunchy on the outside with white flaky fish inside, and the sauce was very flavorful. I would order this dish again. Paella was tasty with shrimps, clams, mussels, pork sausages, and chicken. However, the Caesar salad was bland. I wished the dressing had more garlic, anchovy, Parmesan cheese flavor. The service was very good with attentive staff. At the end of our meal, the restaurant surprised us with a complimentary dessert flan topped with a candle as we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The flan was delicious! It had strawberries on top and caramel sauce. I would definitely come back and also invite some friends to come and check out this restaurant. read more

This review is based on the wait staff and only the wait staff. About a month ago, my girlfriend and I came here based on a recommendation. it seemed like a nice to grab something to eat and see the sunset. The hosts were friendly and sat us down right away. Within a minute of being seated, the busser came by and dropped off some water at our table. Little did we know, that would be last time we would have interaction with the staff. My girlfriend and I waited between 30 to 35 minutes before we decided to get up and walk out. Not one time did anyone come to our table and ask if we were ready to order or wanted drinks. We went on a Friday night after work, so it was about 6pm. The restaurant was not full yet but more people started coming in once we there for about 10 to 15 minutes. My girlfriend wanted to leave after 20 minutes of waiting but I decided to give them another 10 just because in case they were busy. I didn't want to call the staff over and say we have been waiting here because honestly, I feel I shouldn't have to. i would hope they notice that we have our menus at the table with only water. As we were waiting, i noticed some of the groups that were sat after us were getting food and drinks. i also notice that the wait staff were having somewhat long conversations with them as well. There was a table behind us and a table on the side of us that the staff served. A member of the staff probably walked by us 10 times and did not say a word to us. My girlfriend thought I should make a scene as we left but I decided not to. I decided to tell the host/manager that we were here for over 30 minutes and not serviced. She asked we if wanted to take some food to go for free but we declined. One i didn't feel right about taking the food and two, i didn't want to wait any longer. We aren't against trying this place again, but just not anytime soon. read more

We went for dinner on a Tuesday at 7:15 and the place was packed, and loud, as the sizable bar shares the large dining room and a Giants game was on. There must've been 90+ people there. By 7:30 people started clearing out and by 8:00 the ambient noise was comfortable. We had the ceviche sampler, which was excellent, although you had to order chips separately. We ordered the plantain chips and they were great. We each had the Paella and the order was sizable and delicious. There was a lot of rice, but there always seemed to be a piece of seafood in every bite. I had a Pisco Sour and my husband had a Smokey and the Bandit. They put enough alcohol in each drink so that you knew that you were having a drink and not just a "virgin" concoction. This was our first time at Puerto 27, but it won't be our last! There's also a patio with several tables with great ocean views, so the next time we go, we'll bring our dog along. We also saw some spouting whales as we dined! read more

I've done a lot of Peruvian. The food was really good, the rice was perfect, pisco was delish, ambiance was amazing with ocean front view and several games on by the bar. Great place, service was decent but we were eating at the bar so its easy to forget to check up on the bar diners. All around great experience. Puerto 27 has really good food and even better drinks! The ceviches are delicious, but portions are small - especially if you get the sampler. We have been here a few times and tried just about everything on the menu. The paella has been the best so far, but we have not had a bad meal yet. Definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

The food was great! What really made our experience though was our server, Lydia. She was attentive to our every need and even tried to make sure our baby son was satisfied. Excellent place!!! I had never tried Peruvian food and this experience made me want to try other places. We had one of the ceviches as an appetizer. My husband had the lamb and I had the pescado macho. They were both very good! The fish better than the lamb. Staff was attentive even though the place was full. The kitchen needs a little more work because they sent out entrees prior to appetizers and it took a long time. If the food hadn't been that good, I would have been upset. If we are ever back in the area, we'll have to come back. Make a reservation if it's Friday or Saturday night! read more

This place was ok. We decided to make a reservation for a group of 6. Very limited parking, and also very tight. We ended up parking across the street in the beach parking lot. Food was ok. I did enjoy the mussels tho. Portions are pretty big, so we ended up over ordering with plenty of food left over. My friends had a few Pisco sours, which they seemed to enjoy as well. I do look forward to coming back for brunch someday. read more

Unfortunately, we came in to celebrate our wedding and wrote in our yelp reservation the reason for our visit and not one person said anything or even asked if we were out celebrating anything that night. Our first time at Puerto27, although we frequent Fresca in Noe Valley quite a bit. We expected great service and great food since we always enjoy our visits to Fresca. Needless to say we were not disappointed and we enjoyed a beautiful Sunday brunch on the outdoor patio with our three Schnauzers. It's a bit of a drive to come out to Pacifica for us but we will definitely come again should we be in the area. Ask for Stephanie as your server; really attentive and friendly. read more

We can here on Sunday with my sister in law and her husband, service get 0 star the server she came to the table 20 min after we seat and she didn't even said good afternoon, it took another min to get our drinks after she take our order. we order a ceviche mix and my sister in law husband almost broke his teeth because was a piece of bone or something in the ceviche we ask her to go to the kitchen and ask what was the piece of bone or where they come from she take it and never said anything back also we finish our drinks and she never ask if we want another round, it's just a waste of time to come at this place food gets 3 stars nothing especial you can get better food and drinks at better price somewhere else... read more

Can't beat the location, right across PCH from beach. We had a 4 top outside, and when the sunset in its orange glory, the busy bar emptied outside to take pics. The food and drinks are impeccable. I had a roasted chicken which was good, fries were a bit soggy. Son had a steak meal that was unbelievable. Wife had pork stew, also very nice. My highlight was the mussels appetizer. Very tasty, but waitress said she could not share recipe. It was odd that it took so long to get drinks. When food was served, it all came out together. Mussels then chicken, then a side salad came with chicken. No room on table. read more

So sad to write this because we LOVE the food, but the service is awful. We have gone 4 or 5 times now and every time have had not great service with different servers every time :/ this last time it took 10 minutes after we were sat to even have the server who kept walking by our table to even come up to us and give us menus. Then another 10 for her to ask if we wanted anything. We ordered drinks and water. The water glasses were dirty but we couldn't find a server so we just cleaned them off ourselves. We finally ordered the trip of ceviche which was so so so yummy but pretty small and didn't come with the chips those you order separate for an extra 6 dollars which you need them so that was what ever. We ordered a plate of the fries and sausage which I can't remember what it was called but I do not recommend.. it is a glorified hotdog and ketchup with fries... we also ordered oysters.. first there wasn't even a menu for the oysters we were told we would have to walk over to the oyster bar to see what kinds there were... so I did and we ordered those, at the same time as we ordered the food I might add.. the food was served but the oysters never came ... so we finished our food and drinks and sat there for a bit looking for our waitress. When she finally appeared she asked if we were just missing the oysters. I said yes and we also would like more Waterford everyone. She came back and filled my glass and my boyfriends and left without filling my dads. The oysters were finally brought to the table and just dropped off not explaining what oysters were which. Also they only brought cocktail sauce, no horseradish or the vinegar sauce like it says on the menu. So we waited for the waitress to appear again and asked for them. 5 minute late the vinegar was literally dropped off at the table. She never asked if we needed a refill on drinks or anything. When we finished the oysters she brought the check. It was just a really bad experience for a pretty pricey place. I really think it's time for the restaurant to focus more on there serving staff and service in general. They have potential to be a 5 star place if they did. read more

As far as the hostess/ manager short possibly pregnant one, she has no Restaurant table, manners or etiquette what's so ever. She came over to table grabs our bottle of wine "wanting" to refill our glasses and pours as if we are drinking grape juice! We are just about done finishing our meal and she calmly comes over and says, "you can stay as long as you like but, do you mind MOVING to another table , We have a large party and we need your table ⁉ who does that‼ we had a little over a $200.00 meal and she's gracefully kicking us out. All she had to do was wait 5 minutes. When I went to exit the party that she referred to that was complaining of the wait appeared to be happy and still waiting for the rest of there party to arrive. That would be my reasoning for never wanting to go back. Absolutely crazy. I have patronized this Restaurant several times she disappointed me severely. I live an 1 1/2 hours way and to be told to move to another table while I'm having dessert is ridiculous . The low rating is because of her. read more

Very expensive for so little food! You are paying for the view. The portions are extremely small. My family and I all left still hungry! The empanadas are definitely microwaved. I came here for the first time last night, despite being a lifelong Pacifica resident. I'd heard that the food was great, so I was excited to get to taste it myself. Let me first say that our server was extremely helpful and friendly!!!!! I was surprised to find out that Puerto is owned by the same people who operate Fresca, which I love. We ordered Pisco Sours to drink, beef empanadas and the salmon sashimi ceviche, and I got the lomo saltado as my entree. Everything was delicious! At one point the chef walked over to us and gave us 4 free jello shots, which was very unexpected but definitely appreciated. It was my friend's birthday, and they brought us a complimentary flan, also very yummy. I took one star off because the ambiance wasn't quite at the level that I was expecting, but overall I had a great experience, and would definitely come back here again! read more

so, we've gone here a number of times and LOVED it - see my previous review - but this last time, well lets just say that they have figured out that tourists will go there for the view whether or not the food is good or well priced. They've raised their prices, made all the portions on the tapas plates smaller, and changed my favorite dish, and one of their signatures, so as to be unrecognizable from what it was - a dungeness crab causa that was to die for, is now 3 little dollops of potato with some crab on top and drizzled with some sauce without the avocado that it still says it has on the menu. i wouldn't order it again now. BOOOO. shame on you for capitalizing on the view and letting your food quality fall. read more

First of all, this place overlooks Pacifica State Beach so you could just come here for the view itself! Outdoor seating is a bit limited, but definitely worth it. The food itself was very delicious but I can't comment on its authenticity. We tried ceviche classico, which was unique and had a nice spice and sour taste to it. We got the skewers sampler, where chicken, beef hearts, and shimp&chorizo were all really tasty and well cooked. Plantain chips is a nice complement to ceviche. We also got causas that were surprisingly food. Their pisco sours are really a must, but make sure you also try their speciality cocktails. They have plenty of alcohol in them to put you in the right mood. I would give this place five stars, if they didn't have the prices up so high for relatively smaller portions. We didn't have any issues with the service as others mentioned. Come here for a good Sunday day-time chilling place. read more

I've been here a handful of times because I love the food but I'm sorry to the owner of this restaurant for the poor rating but the service is Terrible! I'm a local and I want my family and friends to experience Pacifica dining at its finest. Unfortunately, the experience myself and guests received has been very poor. I always thought it was just bad timing, but after a few times - it's really the service. Issues But areas of improvement 1) hosts are not clear with communication on timing to sit down patrons. Tip: don't just say it will be a 15 minute way if u know it will be longer. Also, give the guest a heads up how many people are before them. Let them know they can go to bar and wait there. 2) the servers are poor at checking in with patrons. Tip: even if the food isn't ready, don't abandon your customers. Be transparent- A. It's going to take a while can I interest you in an appetizer or drink. B. Sorry for the wait but please let me know if there's anything I can do. Servers, customers don't want to playing the guessing game- just communicate with them as it's better than no communication at all. 3) once food is out, servers, check in with your guests if they are doing well. Tip: Don't just disappear and come back with the check. If you walk by the table, don't pretend like I don't exit- make eye contact to make sure everyone is OK. Anyways, manager/owner of this restaurant - I hope you take this post as an opportunity to reevaluate your staffs service and expectations... because it's not just about the food but it's about the experience. Went here with a friend awhile back because he was staying at the hotel next door. We went in and were seated right away. The waiter took at least 10 minutes before we were given menus. We proceeded to order our entrees. We sat there waiting for at least 30+ minutes before we got our food which was awful as we were both hungry as hell. I feel if you have to wait that long the waiter should at least warn you - we would have ordered appetizers. Overall the food was good, but overpriced. I would never come here again due to the ludicrous wait times. If you want to get your Peruvian fix, I recommend going to Mi Lindo Peru in SF. The food is just as good if not better and costs 25-40% less. Also they serve you a free appetizer (bread + salsa) right away. read more
