I been here a lot. I live close by and eat/take out quite often. The place is huge and there is always place to sit. Ups: Warm fresh tortillas made right in front of you (at the entrance). I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about, so far the staff has been friendly to me. They've always come back to ask for refills. Cheese and lettuce has never been billed separately. The food quality is AWESOME. It tastes so good, I can't get enough of it. Downs: It is slightly overpriced. But I guess the food portions make up for it. The lady at the reception has been a problem. I've ordered to go's a number of times and she never gets it right. There is always something wrong and I end up waiting at the door for half an hour. Lady, seriously the amount of bills I pay for meals here, please please give me my to gos on time :P Update: I got a to go again last night and guess what? They screwed up AGAIN! They missed half of my order. I'm getting tired of this now... Update2: Went there again and showed the manager this review. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Food is good, portions are large, never a wait, fast and friendly service, ambiance is welcoming and is a convention location. One of my favorite features is that they always serve you a red salsa, green salsa, refried beans and a pico at arrival. We've never had a bad meal or bad service there. read more

Ok... So the 1 star is for the restaurant and the cleanliness of the place overall. Restrooms were also nice and clean. About the food - whole family went all 7 of us and I will be honest I had high hopes for this place, turned out it wasn't great at all! Ordered a meal I will say is shrimp wrapped in bacon.. The smallest shrimp ever no cheese inside but outside slabbed all over the tiny shrimp that tasted more like burned bacon. I wish I had taken pictures but we were too busy tending to our kids and we were with a big party so I had no time. (It didn't look appealing and the taste was just as unpleasant) We ordered 2 quesadilla for my daughters (bland) ordered shrimp tacos, asada plate, 2 kids hot dogs (those were tasteless never had i imagined a hot dog could be so bland!) I could have made better at home... Well, truth be told I could have made better at home everything we ordered! The $70 we paid was in my opinion NOT worth it. Beans were not good at all, rice was just enough to pass as an ok! Service - was just slow... I don't think I ever got a refill my family members waited entirely too long to be asked for a second drink, even extra water... Drinks : horchata, soft drinks, sangria only good was the soft drinks... Best part of our visit I could say was the chips, maybe the tortillas... That's not a good thing. Bottom line big let down this is a restaurant we would NOT ever return to or even recommend to anyone else we know. read more

We were looking for a Mexican restaurant and stumbled in here as its right across from Walmart. When I sat down, I was disappointed to learn this was a chain restaurant. I had really wanted to go to an authentic Mexican restaurant. Oh well...the chips we received were not my favorite. I like super-greasy thin chips and these were thick, crunchy chips. The dips were okay. I liked having refried beans as a dip. All of our food was good and the service was okay. I was pleasantly surprised that our bill was under $30 including tip. read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the PNW. I was birthed in Arizona and really miss good authentic southwestern Mexican food. This place is as good as it gets for me. Not quite the same, at all, but definitely very good. Monday nights in the bar host a sweet taco buffet with purchase of any drink (alcoholic or not). Ok So i have been here 5 times...i really wanted it to be great.... Visit One: Ordered food and two cocktails. Mine was wrong and tasted like gasoline. The bartender's reply...TOO BAD it is alcohol just drink it. Visit Two: Ordered a chicken burrito...it came bare tho the menu said it wouldnt, asked for a side of cheese and lettuce...it came i ate it and enjoyed it. was charged for one of the meals from a table that was by us but they had left already. Heard the manager saying dont take it off the bill, sum1 has to buy. We paid it :( Visit Three: Ordered the same thing and asked for the same sides. The meal wen ton fine and tasted good altho getting a refill at this play is nearly impossible!...Got the Bill and was charged $1.50 for lettuce side and 2.50 for cheese side.....i explain that i have ordered this b4 and have not been charged...manger came over said no you pay this, you asked for sides" Um lady i can get 3 HEADS of lettuce for that price! Visit Four: Asked the waiter which burrito i needed to order to get cheese and lettuce. He said none of them. I explained what had happened and how nuts it was to charge that much for sides. He looked at me rolling his eyes and said "nothing is free in this world get used to it" we had some more unpleasant words and he left. That night after my meal i got really sick...wonder why? crazy waiter perhaps? Just Sayin' Visit Five: I beat the system i brought my own little sides of cheese and lettuce in my purse! Finally! Some delicious Americanized-mexican food in the Olympia area! My sister and I used to drive to Yelm for Puerto Vallarta and now we have one in Lacey. It's your typical- margarita, nachos, enchiladas... Great atmospheric and lots of dipping salsas for your chips (4 kinds, I think). This place made me SO SO happy! read more

Had a very good meal here after golfing nearby at Hawks Prairie. Ordered the Arroz con Pollo, and it was enough food for two people. Delicious flavor and the scratch made tortillas that came with it were wonderful. Prices are a little more expensive compared to most Mexican places, but the portion size and flavor make up the difference in spades! Try not to fill up on their delicious chips and FOUR different dipping sauces before the meal. Their pico de gallo is some of the best I've had, and the salsa has great flavor. read more

I love this place! I was on Holiday from the UK. Service at this place would easily by 5*+ in Europe. Their selection is great as well. I ordered a typically gringo special. A combo of chili relleno, taco, tostada, enchilada. Normally I would have gone for something a little more adventurous, but I wanted comfort food. If you want something a little more authentically Mexican, it is not a problem here. They even have there own tortilla press. The price was better that good. In my opinion, these guys are going after repeat business. They hit the ball out of the park! I told my relatives and friends in Olympia about this place. This was the first time my husband and I came to this restaurant. We are beyond impressed. The staff was so friendly and they help each other out so it's not just one person doing all of the work. The complimentary chips and salsas (yes, that's plural for the 4 different salsas they bring out) were amazing! I ordered the sunset margarita and there's NO questioning alcohol was in it! Super yummy. And their meals. Oh my word. The food portions are enormous!! You will seriously HAVE to take home at least half of your meal!! Everything is so fresh and their guac is just perfection! Waayyy overpriced average Mexican food. Carne Asada plate was $21 for an un-seasoned chewy strip of cheap quality flank steak but tasted/chewy like a low end cut of flap meat. Typical beans and rice as the sides, so you get about $3 worth of product for $21!! Wait, maybe some lime would give it some flavor? Yeah, $1 extra for a lime!! Waiter should of told me about the additional cost that no other restaurant charges for. Chip salsa is good but its the only red salsa they have, hell, hole in the wall places have at least a variety to choose from. Apparently you pay for the decor and their plant watering bill and next time you have a hankering for carne asada remind your partner how much the food sucks here. read more

Well, it's not Tex-Mex at Tomatillo's in San Antonio, but food here is best Mexican we've had up here in the Pac NW. Between all of us, we had a little bit of everything, and the only thing I was really disappointed in was the portion size of the beef fajitas. Lots of "stuff", but not much beef. Service was quick and friendly and atmosphere was fantastic... right down to the piped in music. Only thing missing was mariachi's. This will be our go-to place for Mexican unless we find something better. read more

Gross. Took two bites out of my shrimp and spinach enchilada and pushed it away. Beans were like glue and the salsa was like spicy marinara. My margarita had about 95% sweet and sour mix and I didn't taste any tequila. This was my first time here and I won't be back. Not a good place for authentic tasting and looking Mexican food. Husband and I preferred combo 18 and a pork tamale on the side. The burrito in the combo was sad. It was dry chicken, rice and beans poorly wrapped in a cold tortilla. The chills replenish was also not good. The egg breading around the Chile was practically not existent and the Chile was split in half, this isn't traditional. The tamale... so awful. It was microwaved and you could tell. I thought this place was pretty decent. Hotel manager recommended it so we gave it a try. Fresh chips were good, so were the dipping sauces. Homemade tortillas were good as well. Very tasty and fluffy. The waiter recommended to us the most expensive dish on the menu, steak and shrimp with all the fixins. We weren't paying so no worry. The shrimp and mushrooms were great, probably because they were covered with a buttery garlic sauce. The steak was not very flavorful at all, a little disappointing. Beans and rice were pretty standard except for the pool of butter and cheese on my beans. Overall a decent "chain" Mexican place. Better than we have back east. read more

My family and I had lunch here yesterday. Everything in the lunch buffet looked fresh and hot, but we decided to have a sit down lunch. The service was very good. The staff was friendly. I ordered the crab enchilada. I was a little disappointed. While the rice and beans were very flavorful, there was barely any crab meat in the enchilada. The orange mango mojito was tasty and refreshing. Overall, the food is excellent. I was just disappointed with the meal I had yesterday. read more

We came here for a work thing so they had the buffet setup for dinner for a large group. I don't know if that's normal or if the buffet is usually for lunch. Anywho, we got there a little later than everyone else and by then there was only like leftovers. Only half the food was available and whatever was left didn't look very appealing. I ended up just making myself two tacos and tried some other thing that I don't know the name of. I felt like I was eating the same thing but prepared three different ways. Also, the large chip looking thing was stale and I didn't even finish it. Worst of all, we paid $20 per person. I would have much rather just ordered something off the menu if I knew we'd be eating stale food. Also it took a while to flag down a waiter to come by to even get us some water. Heard SO much about the buffet.... HUGE disappointment. Shrimp is old and been frozen too long as can be seen by the mushy texture and no flavor. All choices are basic and flavorless. And French fries in a chafing dish? Cmon. There is no one anywhere to help/aid you in any way. I'm sorry bc I really wanted to be all in on this one but I CANNOT. Okay so I just moved to the area and was dying for good Mexican food. There were a few options around but literally everyone told me that this was the best place to go to and they have NOT disappointed. First of all, their cheese dip is HUGE. It's almost impossible to finish without at least two people. And it's delicious. Second of all, their portion sizes are ALSO HUGE. Third of all, apparently their chicken fajitas are typically half off? So I went with a friend, we each got chicken fajitas and two Angry Orchards, and we split the cheese dip. It cost NINETEEN dollars each. And was my lunch the next day. And not one of those "oh it feels like I'm eating leftovers" lunches, it was a HEARTY lunch that left me VERY full. Very nice atmosphere! We went with our one year old daughter and loved it! Portions are very large, including the children's plate! You get unlimited chips and 4 different bowls of salsa and beans when you sit down. We went on a Friday at about 4:30 and was seated and served very quickly. Highly recommend! read more

Hands down one of the worst experiences here and my last. The service/server started great. She was right there for our drink orders and came back for the food order. Then the service went downhill from there. The menu stated you could add guacamole for $1.75. I made the mistake of thinking that it would be real! My bad. DO NOT ORDER A SIDE IF GUACAMOLE! Well, unless you want to pay $5.75 for the most expensive non-authentic guacamole possibly ever for about 1 oz. It was a pale green color and made up mainly of onions. It was awful...save your money. It took for what felt like forever to get our check and that's when I saw the ridiculous price for a "side of guacamole". I would not recommend this place to anyone. Period. read more
