Have been to Rivera's in Lacey several times now, since moving here from the Sonoran Desert. This is a nice little mom & pop store/restaurant that seems to do a fair amount of business. It's a small latin grocery store, meat market, and restaurant all in one! Deli Case - nice sized case full of fresh, seasoned and unseasoned, meat and cheeses. Additionally there is a small refrigerated unit with drinks and another with produce. Grocery Store - 3-4 small aisles of dry products. Dinning Area - about 1/2 dozen tables - your typical fast food seating. Menu - typical fare and reasonable prices - especially considering locale. At this point, I've tried a number of burritos (carne asada, camerones, pollo, etc.) and have thoroughly enjoyed them...and their accompanying and varied house salas! We've also purchase to take home and grill a number of their meats (seasoned and unseasoned) and all have been very good! Service is always prompt, efficient, and friendly! Definitely need to make it up to Shelton and try that location as well! read more

A flavor explosion! I wanted tripe tacos but they didn't have tripe tacos... So I ordered carnitas tacos instead. My daughter ordered 6 tacos too. And my husband ordered birria tacos. We also shared a delicious bowl of menudo. read more

First off, this hybrid restaurant/ market is crazy clean. I think they have the cleanest easiest to Shop market in the area! Their fresh Chicharones were amazing, but they have bags more like pork cracklin' too. Had both at different times and they were both great! I liked the beans that came with my meal I'm big with textures so, that matters to me, and the chicken was tender and had good flavor. My wife really enjoyed her nachos too, and we both decided we'd easily go back again. As a side note, when there phone rings they've adjusted the sound to be more calming like meditation music which we recognize as making us both more comfortable. I was going to go to chipotle and it was still closed at 10:30, so I looked across the street and saw this Mexican place. I wasn't even sure if they had Mexican food, I thought it was just a grocery store, but they had a menu and I was craving a breakfast chorizo burrito. We just found our new favorite Mexican place. I can't say enough good things about the food we ordered (chicken fajitas, burrito, tamales & tortilla soup). Went for lunch on a Taco Tuesday. Had the asada tacos and they we're some of the best I've had in this area (Olympia/Lacey) I also ordered some chicken tamales to go. They were frozen which tells me they aren't fresh. Sure enough, after heating them up, the masa was dry and crumbly and they had that old freezer taste. They ended up in the trash. This place is awesome! Great selection of real Mexican food, very delicious and they serve chips and salsa and several taco sauces. I got the birria and it was so good I couldn't stop. The tenderness and depth of flavor were unreal, best I've ever had! My wife ordered the sopes and they were the bomb too, with a crispy chewy shell and the al pastor was delicious with a nice crisp. Picked up some chorizo from the meat counter and salsa Verde from the market, can't wait to try them. Will definitely be back to try many more dishes and meats! read more

Went to get Masa there today to make tamales for dinner, as my husband and I finish everything up and are ready to assemble the tamales we taste the masa and it tasted very off and strange. We continue mixing it and start smelling a strong smell. It smelled and tasted like a strong cleaning product in the masa. Very disappointing and could harm someone. I don't know what you're putting into your masa or if it was just a bad batch but please taste before you put these out to sale. Will not be going back to this market/restaurant unfortunately. read more

This place is the real deal!! Their carne asada California and Al Pastor meat is amazing! We buy pounds of it and pick up rice and beans and the Mexican crema and the fresh green salsa and we have meals for days!!! The owner is so sweet and always has great recommendations! Approaching from the outside, I was not impressed. However, upon entering I was pleasantly surprised. The dining area was neat, tidy, and the decor was gorgeous. The service was speedy and kind, staff were quick to ask for our order and pateint when we were not ready. Although you order at the counter, your food is brought to your table should you choose to dine in. The food itself was outstanding. Despite my dislike of cilantro, I adored the nachos I ordered; filling and flavorful in a way that coats the tongue. This was also my first time trying Horchata and was not disappointed.
