Very pleased! My three year old and dog enjoyed themselves significantly on the patio here. The service was great, as was the food. The covered patio room was nice since it was sprinkling outside and we couldn't bring the pup inside anywhere. The staff was pleasant and welcoming of my dog. When they brought our drinks, they provided a bowl of water and offered snacks for her before I could even ask. My pooch is a bigger dog, but she had plenty of room to turn around and lay/sit. There were other dogs here, too! Parking was great. Visited around lunch time on Saturday and had no trouble finding a spot and didn't have to walk. Food was okay. I ordered a steak with mixed veggies- the mixed veggies consisted of two thin slices of zuchinni, two thin slices of yellow squash, and two thin strips of bell pepper. No exaggeration! Oh well. My kid had the grilled cheese and fruit. The grilled cheese was the best I've ever tried. The dessert (bread pudding and creme brûlée) made me forgive the lack of vegetables. Phenomenal. This was my first time visiting this place. I drove in from Houston that day. I was here for a bridal shower on Saturday, August 1st. The place is set up nicely, & the party room where the shower was located was a nice size. The food was pretty good and our waiter was pleasant. The reason for the three stars was because when I went to use the restroom, I was not impressed at all. The sinks had not been scrubbed in I don't know how long. That restroom needs a serious makeover. Nasty restroom to me equals a nasty kitchen. My grandmother has always taught me, if you want to know how someone is, see how they keep their kitchen and their bathroom. I wasn't able to inspect the kitchen, but from the restroom, I can only speculate on how clean the kitchen was. Even though the restroom is old, does not mean it can not be scrubbed. All they need to do is use the Clorox FOAM restroom cleaner and let it sit. read more

We sat out side for 15 min before someone came out. We were planning where to go at that point. The shrimp angel was AWFUL. The shrimp were tough and the sauce was Worcestershire, garlic and sugar and way too much Worcestershire. I'm a cook. Worcestershire should be used sparingly. The red snapper was ok though Worcestershire was used on it too. The rice pilaf..,, yuck!!!!! Again, Worcestershire!!!!! What a waste of money. We wish we had gotten up and left before the waitress came. Over $100 and I need to go find something for dinner. Was quite happy with our choice to dine in at this Cafe while passing through town. The french onion soup was very good, and the monte cristo sandwich was better then I've had in a long time. To start off we went on a Tuesday early evening and it took 15 minutes for a server to acknowledge our presence even though we were seated right next to the hostess stand. We were 30 seconds from walking out when a very pleasant yet over worked waitress addressed us. She was very nice but inexperienced. She knew to push the drinks but it appeared she was waiting on the entire restaurant. When we did get our calamari it was not bad, a bit rubbery but passable. However my entrée was to my untrained eye and taste microwaved, the main was warm and flavorful but the sides were cold not even warm. When it came out I looked at it and said these look cold and they were not even close to warm. I saw no manager in the place if there had been I'm sure they would have addressed the understaffing issue. Anyway I would rather the closed half the restaurant than meet half my expectations. Great place. Love their brunch menu on Sunday's and the option to order from the full menu. If you happen to show up for Brunch before noon and they sit you at the table next to the window on Pujo, do yourself a favor and refuse. Once the lady with the foreign accent notices you sitting there after you have been seated by a host, she will get all bent out of shape. Twice this has happened to me and each time she corrected the host less than 10 ft from me. Her voice carries and her comments to the host made me feel horrible for sitting at the table. Omg where do I even start. This review is months late but my boyfriend and I have been revisiting our picture album and came across the best beignets EVER!!! We got so lucky. Best beignets ever!! Soft and powdery on the outside and warm and airy in the inside. It just melted all in our mouths. Can't wait to go back and have some more. We happened upon this place, working to avoid large crowds. Such a warm, friendly environment and great food. Shannon was our server. She may have been the only server but she made it all work! I have never eaten a bad thing here. I had my first Bellini here. Speaking which, the prices on mimosas and Bellinis for brunch are awesome. I really enjoyed my Belgian waffle and if you can manage to bring your appetite, the breakfast burger is also a must try. The beignets have always been hot and fresh even when service is slow. I have only eaten dinner here once, and would happily order the tortellini again. The staff is always nice. I only have one tidbit of constructive criticism for this place and that's that they prepare better for their busy days. We went one weekend with a group if our friends and they were just not staffed for the volume of people they had. You could see the stress in the server's faces. They were not prepared for the crowd they had. We waited for over an hour. Took forever just to get seated. We went for Sunday brunch, party of 11, and almost every single person at our table was charged a price not listed on the menu. They list a mimosa for $3 on their brunch menu and then charged everyone $6 per mimosa. When we questioned it, they said "oh well we gave you double in your glasses so that's the price." Um.... what?? I'm sorry, I missed the table display of what a double and single look like. Oh and I also must've missed the part where you ASKED me if I didn't want what was on the brunch special. OBVIOUSLY, one would want what's listed on the brunch menu when at brunch!!! Crawfish in my omelette was dried out and unseasoned. I'm not one to write a review but PLEASE pick a different place to eat. I would rather eat a McDonald's burger for $15 than come in this restaurant again. Noon. I walked in and a woman in the back, by the name of SHANNON yelled "YOU GOT A TOGO ORDER?!" And I said "no" she walked up to the hostess stand and said "you wanna place an order?!?" And I said um noI need a table for 6. By this point I MYSELF WAS READY "TO GO" They sat us at a table that was already set up. She didn't ask if we wanted an appetizer. When it was time to order I asked her "how is the vegetable sandwich?" She replied "it's just like how it is on the menu" I was SHOCKED, If my family wasn't there I would have asked for a different server. I ordered it. The rest of my family ordered. We waited over 35 minutes for our food. I tasted everyone's food, TERRIBLE, my 10 year old brother would make better food than that. I wouldn't have paid $5 for my meal. No one enjoyed their meal besides my step mom, she has the chicken salad sandwich. My dad spit out his wrap. Same. There was no seasoning AT ALL on my vegetables and all you got was a giant bite of wasabi. There was a young man following her around, we literally couldn't tell who was training who because shannon sucked so much twat. I started with a soup. The bisque was delicious. My entree was the tuna. I was extremely dissatisfied with the entree. The tuna was ordered at medium rare, but was served cooked all the way. I brought the issue up to the server, and he said he would tell the kitchen and that they were new. The restaurant was highly recommended, but My experience was terrible. I asked if I could receive a discount on my next visit. The server responded with they don't do that. This will be the first and last time I ever eat at Pujo's. read more

Stopped in here for lunch yesterday 2-10-21 after finding several of our favorites closed due to the hurricanes or Covid. Glad we chose this place. Such a nice place - old tin roof panels and I think the building is a historic place but didn't read on that. We both had the shrimp po-boy. I had the 6" & husband had the 12". The 6" was plenty & his other half ended up in a take home box. I've had shrimp po-boys before but boy the seasoning was so good in this one. Thin sliced Fresh tomatoes & just enough shredded lettuce not to over power the shrimp. Plentiful and good sized shrimp and the sauce was perfect. The French roll - no body but Louisiana makes French bread like this. Beer was cold- oh & sweet potato fries were hot, just out of the fryer, as were my husband's regular fries.
