Solid 3.5 restaurant. I pass this place almost daily and had never dined here before. Definitely a neighborhood staple for some, judging by the clientele and the host being on first name basis with people walking in. Beer selection was great, and we were seated fairly promptly for a Saturday night. We started off with some bratwurst which I enjoyed, the mustard is fantastic. French onion soup was good, a sweeter tasting rendition vs savory. For dinner, my hubby had the jaegerschnitzel. I thought it was really good, he said he wouldn't get it again. I had the rostbraten. It was good, needed more seasoning to be honest. I had to add salt and pepper for the taste, but it was cooked well. The fried onions on top were good. Spetzle on the side was good. Overall nice dinner! Price was right too!

Food was so delicious I just with the pretzel came with some cheese, not a big mustard girl. The entrees were delicious and I absolutely loved the staff, the theme of the restaurant is their, decor is on point but maybe a bit to old ... I loved it though

    Goulash

Delicious!! They have a 40 oz cowboy steak that is amazing. You can either share it or take home for leftovers the next day lol I prefer to not share it's that good lol and reasonably priced . Ambience with a German flair . The staff is attentive and friendly and Dale our waitress is fun and bubbly. The chicken cordon bleu was yummy and so was the authentic goulash and very good. We had a wonderful time. And Artie the owner and long time family friend is always hospitable thanks Artie . Go check it out you won't be disappointed

The Sauerbraten and potato dumplings were subpar. Potatoes were bland and meat didn't taste right. All 4 guests agreed. Service was lacking.

Schnitzels Stony Brook, NY…read more@eatschnitzels Schnitzels is a German-American gastropub known for its awesome variety's of schnitzel, German beer, and pub fare. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and serving up amazing meals at each. Choose from 5 different gravies and then your schnitzel. Traditionally served with pork or veal, but they do have chicken or eggplant as well! I went with the classic Weinershnitzel which is traditionally served with veal schnitzel and served with brown gravy. Lindsey got the Chicken Rahmschnitzel which is schnitzel topped with a creamy white reisling-infused mushroom gravy. Both were filled with flavor and we were very impressed! All schnitzel is served with spätzle, seasonal vegetables, and red cabbage. This was the definition of a comfort meal that. We started with their Bavarian Cheese Board, and classic German appetizers - potatoes pancakes paired with this insane apple butter, and potato dumplings with your choice of gravy. We loved the vibe in there. Great pub style feel but also nice indoor and outdoor eating. Our server Eden was amazing and such a great help! We truly loved this place and we can wait to go back! We started off with appetizers- which are really great for sharing- perogies for the Hubby and I had the liver dumpling soup- both were fantastic. Hubby had the German mixed salad with his meal, the special was sausage with both chicken and pork Schnitzel and potatoes, I had the sauerbraten with potatoes and we both had a side of the sauerkraut. We took a To-Go of the stuffed chicken breast with mozzarella and spinach and soup, with broccoli and an order of perogies. 2 Root beers, and he had the apple strudel and I ordered the Bienenstich. Our server was Karen- I want to give a huge thank you to her, she was an absolute delight, sweet, friendly and made sure our dinner was perfect, she is wonderful and next time we come for dinner, we hope she is our waitress. Food was incredible, I have not had "family" style German food in probably 13 years if not longer- I used to eat all the time at Alpine Village in Torrance Ca and at Phoenix Club in Brea Ca- both I was a long time foodie at, and never had a bad meal! It is so great to know that Sebastian's is our new place for delicious German food. Dinner for the 3 was roughly $180.00, but before you say "that's a lot", the food is delicious, the wait staff is amazing and both my husband and I gladly pay good money for fantastic food, like what we had here at Sebastian's.

Chef Mike and team provide exceptional food and service with a personal touch usually reserved only for socialites in Manhattan. For our second dinner visit we doubled our party to 8 and dug a little deeper into the menu. Cocktails and Wine were nicely crafted and presented with skill. For starters we chose orders of Fried Calamari w/tomato sauce, fresh Potato Pancakes w/applesauce and the big pretzel. While you would expect perfect potato pancakes at a German inspired restaurant the quality of the Calamari might surprise. Perfect batter and cook with a tasty sauce. The table varied up the mains which upped the challenge for the kitchen but all dishes were served perfectly prepared and together. 4 chose the signature Sauerbraten with fresh red cabbage. The meat was fork tender and perfectly sauced. The Twin Grilled Pork Chops, Tomahawk for 2 and Roast Lamb followed and equally impressed. Of note was the char on the pork which contrasts well with the sauce. Personal note; I tend to be very skeptical ordering lamb but had faith in Chef Mike. Might have been the best Roast Rack of Lamb I've ever eaten! The flavor on the crust was bold, meat temperature was a perfect mid-rare and the sauce had a surprise sweetness that balanced the plate. For dessert three fresh Apple Strudel w/strawberries and vanilla ice cream brought it all home. Note: last visit we made note of the dining room decor and in fairness I should do the same. Great Job brightening up the room and setting beautiful white table covers w/valentine red runners. The room looked crisp and inviting. Pine Grove Inn is a bit off the regular path in Patchogue but absolutely worth a little drive. I'm looking forward to seeing this restaurant full on our next visit even if we have to fill it with our friends.

Food and service did not disappoint and the restaurant was well-decorated for Christmas too :) Yes, meals are a bit on the pricier side but portions are generous and (as someone who LOVES German food), I have to say the jagerschnitzel and sauerbraten were spot on! We started off with the obligatory Bavarian pretzel, which is cooked to order and easy to share around for a family of four. We also ordered a bowl of their onion soup which had a surprisingly flavorful broth and was delicious down to the very last scoop. It was a nice departure from some variants where once you pierce through the top cheese layer, you're eating boring beef broth. I wish the family well (believe they're retiring and trying to sell the business) and maybe keep my fingers crossed new owners will keep up the German cuisine!
