Punch Love Coffee is a great addition to Birmingham's coffee scene. The coffee itself was excellent, you can actually taste the quality of the espresso and beans instead of it being overwhelmed by syrup or creamer. It's refreshing to find a shop that lets the coffee shine while still crafting a well-balanced drink. The ambiance is just as enjoyable. It's a cute, welcoming space that's perfect whether you're looking to knock out some work on your laptop, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee. Comfortable, inviting, and exactly the kind of place you'll want to spend some time in. I'll definitely be back for both the coffee and the atmosphere.

Awesome little coffee shop, great vibe. Right next to Big Spoon Creamery in Avondale. I ordered from their seasonal menu and had to laugh at the "put it in reverse terry" drink. One of my favorite videos. I opted for the butterscotch latte, which was absolutely scrumptious. This was my first time here! it's getting hard to find coffee shops I haven't been to yet -- and I will definitely come back here. Service was quick and easy, the staff was very nice and parking was a breeze. No laptops on weekends! Love it. Foster that community and connection. I believe they operate on a no-tip system. They never spun the iPad around for me to tip, I think it's built into the price. Respect. Get your workers what they deserve. They also have really cool merch. I'd have to hang out there enough to not be a poser, but I totally have my eye on a sweatshirt. They have an assortment of interesting merchandise here. Skincare, niche snacks, coffee. Very cool place to check out. Worth going out of the way.

Great coffee and atmosphere. I always bring my pup here to get work done and grab a latte. It's not overly crowded like other places which is nice. A good place for a cool retrieve during the summer. The lattes are good but not my absolute favorite. I look for a specialty latte when not making at home, which they don't really have here. It is still worth a try as their base lattes and coffee are good. Employees are always very welcoming and love on my pup as soon as we walk in.

As a local, I can't tell you how much I love this place! Their drink specials are always amazing, and they have the most delectable empanadas. So happy to have this place close to home and open on a MONDAY. Also the cutest plants and funky artwork are a vibe.

Small coffee shop around the corner from Big Spoon Creamery. A lot of coffee options, I've never seen latte slushies so I had to try one on this warm spring day. It did NOT disappoint it was so so good & refreshing. They had caramel and mocha option today. They had breakfast empanadas we didn't try but a lot of people were ordering. Had some nice merch hanging for sale (sweatshirts, coffee, etc). A really great spot for coffee to-go or sit in and study/catch up with friends. I'd definitely come back when we're in the area!

Punch Love is a spot to nerd out on coffee. The multiple roasters (all options you really can't find anywhere else) available in the retail section tells you that as you walk in. It's an espresso based menu here with a drip. Everything is dialed in perfectly and you can tell has been painstakingly crafted to taste great. I'd suggest that even if you love your milk based drink that you try one of the single origin espresso shots. There's always something unique here, and you'd be surprised with how much you like it. Plus you get some chocolate (and if my previous mention about needing out told you anything, no it's not Hershey's, but way better!) to go with it and it always compliments the espresso.

A very cute coffee spot located in the Avondale area. I had the seasonal coffee drink, the "Bad Date" which was a cinnamon and date brown sugar latte with a hint of vanilla. So good! The service was great as well and always nice when they remember a face. Good to know they will be expanding as well!

Atmosphere: Punch Love Coffee is a small, bright shop in the Makebhm space. There are several tables outside but only a few small tables inside, so it may be more difficult to come with a larger group. The interior is minimalistic with plants scattered around the cafe, as well as a giant monstera! Service: The owner/barista was very nice! One thing to note is that they don't have wifi, so this might not be the optimal place for working remotely. Food: We ordered a vanilla cappuccino and regular cappuccino. They were both served at a nice temperature -- not too hot or cold. The vanilla was a bit on the sweet side, but we still very much enjoyed our drinks. Overall: We loved how intimate and refreshing Punch Love Coffee felt. The drinks were good, and the vibes were positive and friendly. We'd say Punch Love Coffee is a great place to read, chat, and enjoy a drink.

What a cute, new coffee shop in Avondale! This was one of the best mochas I have ever had. I can't wait to stop by again. It was nice and quiet on Saturday morning and I was able to enjoy my latte and just people watch as everyone strolled in.

Small, intimate setting. The Barista/Owner was super chill and cool. I had the "Put it in reverse Terry" to drink and a blueberry danish to eat. Ah-mazing! I can't wait to get back, I think I may have found a new coffee spot to frequent!

Enjoyment with my friend in this wonderful ambience

This was the spot we would all come to to do homework. It's still got that same warmth and charm. I came in on a Wednesday morning to sit and do some work. I ordered a cappuccino, bran muffin, and a breakup cookie to take home. The cappuccino is just as expected. Served at the perfect temp, great flavor. The bran muffin, which was my attempt to be healthy, was really a delicious stand-out. I would definitely get that again. And, of course, the breakup cookies are some of the best cookies in town. They bake all of the baked goods in-house, I believe, which gets a round of applause from me. A lot of the recipes are still the same ones I remember from 7 years ago. One thing I noticed that's even BETTER than I remember was the books and gift selection. A lot of the books caught my eye. It's a great curation of fiction, non, memoirs, birding books, children's, etc. They also carry the Village Apothecary candles, which are made locally and have some packaging I really love. Church Street is one of the Birmingham staples. I hope they're open for a million more years. They do what they do exceptionally well.

A bold claim, no? Maybe that's all you need to know... but I love writing about coffee shops so don't stop here. I love real deal coffeehouses (yes, in a house) and it's so cozy in here. I didn't stay to work because every seat was taken both times I came in (late morning), so get here early or perhaps late, if you want a seat in the middle of the week. The baristas couldn't be nicer. They took their time and chatted with customers, a rarity in those crowded coffee chains. Do check out those seasonal lattes (I mean, for February, a cherry blossom latte? Say less). My favorite is on the regular menu, a salted rosemary latte and it's literally perfect. I adjusted the sweetness level to be less so, and I loved the notes of floral rosemary and coffee. Pro tip: skip the line and order ahead!

I've had good coffee, great coffee, exceptional coffee, mediocre coffee, and questionable things called "coffee". O'Henry's on Highlands is a standard small coffee shop inside, nice ambience, cute. Staff is friendly for the most part. Has usual stuff like food/pastries, etc. While all nice, the one thing I've never liked was their coffee. It's standard tasting, basic B level, and when i'm in the area and have to have a coffee right now, I end up ordering a flavored coffee there, because it masks the lack of flavor of their actual coffee, which is what I really wanted in the first place. If you are an average Joe and just want a cup of coffee and there happens to be coffee shop you're parked next to, O'Henry's will do the job.
