I have been looking for a good Indian food spot ever since I left the Burbank area and I think I finally found it! I came into Punjabi Tandoor and they were super friendly! I think he was either the manager or the owner that greeted me. He asked if I had been there before and I told him no then proceeded to tell him I was looking for a chicken curry type dish. My guy knew immediately what to recommend, "Chicken Tikka Masala" and "Chicken Makhari" (I think) over delicious rice and "Garlic Naan"! IT WAS AMAZING!!! SOOO GOOD!! They cooked my food right in front of me! The restaurant is nice and clean with their own merchandise. This is now my good to spot for good, quality Indian food!
Went back to Punjabi Tandoor and ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala - Chicken Makhani combo again, along with Garlic Naan and a side of Lamb Curry--and once again, they absolutely delivered. Everything was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions are huge--easily enough for two additional meals, which makes it an even better value. On top of that, they're currently offering a lunch special, so it's truly a steal for the quality and quantity you get. Consistently delicious food, generous portions, and great value. This spot keeps proving why it's a go-to. Will definitely be back.
I have always wanted to eat here and finally made the decision! First and foremost, the smell of the spices and food just is so strong when you walk by (in an AMAZING way!) that it is SO inviting and makes us even more hungry! We went on a Friday afternoon and were the only people in the restaurant! We decided to get Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala, plain basmati rice, and regular & garlic naan bread (not photographed). You can taste the authenticity in each bite. The sauces were both equally delicious and complex with their spices and flavors. There was a lot of protein in both dishes which was nice! Most places give you more sauce than protein, but this was quite the opposite! Since we were the only ones, the manager (I am assuming) gave us a small sample of their most popular Chicken Makhani (Butter Chicken) and it was perfect! Very kind of him to let us get a taste of the menu! There was so much food, we were able to have (2) full meals from this. I will DEFINTIELY be coming back to try the Saag Paneer, their curry, and a samosa! I encourage everyone in 2026 to try a new restaurant that might be out of your comfort zone, and you pallet will be expanded and will THANK YOU!
*Note: TDLR at the end of the review Lamb Vindaloo: 5/10 Nothing extraordinary. The meat was tender, a tad bit gamey, which is kind of expected when eating lamb. I will say it was a bit salty an they only give you a couple pieces. Overall, okay. Shrimp Masala: 6/10 There was a hair when I first opened the box, but this rating is if there was no hair LOL. The masala was well balanced, but the shrimp were small, and they only gave you a couple as well. Pistachio Ice Cream Bar: 10/10 Super creamy and the texture is a bit thicker which made it more interesting. Pistachio flavor was very apparent, and it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. Garlic Naan: 8/10 Paid extra dollar for it. It was definitely good, but worth it? I think it depends on the person Service: 7/10 Nothing special. They were nice and tried to help figure out what I wanted to order. Ambiance: 7/10 Music was a good volume, and the restaurant itself was very clean. Lighting wasn't overbearing and it was air conditioned. TDLR: Automatic 3 stars = Found a hair in my food when I opened it. I didn't send the food back because I'm not super picky. I think overall the food was good not great. I would comeback if I was around with some friends or something, but not my first choice. I would come back for the ice cream though haha
So happy I found this place! I was craving Indian food and needed something that wasn't a fancy sit-down place like you find in Cerritos (ily Cerritos). I got the combo plate with 2 meats: butter chicken and chicken tika masala. It was BOMB! It was the perfect amount of spice and, if you look at my photo, the portions are hefty! The naan was close to the best naan I've ever had. I promise you it's worth a try if you love Indian food like I do. There are so many options to choose from too, like lamb, seafood and veg curries. Can't wait to try more. They also give you a small cup of rice pudding for dessert - it wasn't too sweet but it was a nice ending to a delicious meal. Prices were great and service was quick!
So this is a first. On a work trip to LA I was driving back to my hotel and saw the sign for this place literally in the parking lot of the hotel! Life is never that easy! This joint is located in a tight strip center next to the AMC and the aromas filled the square. This is more like an Indian version of Panda Express but with better food and friendly service. The two guys were making every single item fresh to order, and I must say the results were outstanding. Naan - filled with delicious cheese, fresh, hot, and chewy Chana Samosa - never seen such a thing before. Basically a deconstructed samosa with garbanzo beans, mint chutney, and tamarind sauce poured over the top. Fresh onions and a fork is all you need! Chicken Tikka - fragrant and just the right level Of spice. This version is made with fat chunks of chicken breast. Highly recommend you stop in !!
Amazing Indian food,everything fresh and yummy taste,much better than most of the Artesia restaurants which I tried.Good pricing for a combo.And also their nan so so delicious. The owner Mike so nice and friendly. A lovely and professional Indian family kitchen.So love it !!!
Another Yelp find. Ordered the Garlic Naan Basmati Rice Curry Shrimp and Fish Pakora. Dishes arrived very HOT which was an absolute WIN all the way round. Wasn't expecting that type of service on a delivery (though I paid the extra for the priority delivery) it turned out being a good investment indeed. The Curry Shrimp was tasty. Shrimp succulent flavored with a tender bite. Was expecting the curry to be a bit richer and thicker in consistency (it was more like a soup consistency) but it handled like a thicker curry as it absorbed easily into the Rice and Garlic Naan. My first such Curry. Tasty dish that was also a complement to the crispy seasoned tasty and fluffy Fish (inside) Pakora. Enjoyed those and paired it with the Naan Rice and Curry Shrimp with almost every bite. All in all. My meal experience was the next thing to home made arriving as hot as it did. I am looking forward to trying more from their menu soon. Gratitude and give thanks Punjabi Tandoor Restaurant and Staff for a phenomenal meal experience.
Wow wow wow, goat curry is the best in the land. Naan was perfect texture and flavor. Portions are generous. My mouth will stop talking and more eating !

After looking through their menu we ordered several items - Lamb Rogan Josh - 5/5 - rich and creamy with great spices and they didn't skimp on the lamb! Lamb Biryani - 5/5 - a huge portion and easily shareable. The rice was not overcooked and the chunks of lamb mixed in were huge! Garlic Naan - 4/5 - freshly made right out of the tandoor. The 2 pieces we ordered were quite big and were great to dip into the curries. Tandoori Chicken(Whole) - 5/5 - super flavorful and the chicken was juicy on the inside and not dry. There was a good amount of seasoning on the outside and the marinade on the chicken was great Seekh Kebab - 4/5 - plenty of pieces and the spiced onions on top provided a crisp texture to the soft kebab and the dipping sauces paired well with the meat! All the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions we had. They even let us try some sample of some of the curries they had readily available! Service was also quick even for made to order food. You have an option to get a fountain drink or several Indian drinks/desserts in the cooler next to it. This is a great spot for Indian food and I highly recommend coming here if you get the itching for some tasty and spicy Indian food! Parking is available behind the restaurant.
Wow!! This place is insanely good. The mushroom marsala is an absolute must! I've never had anything like it, the flavor profile has so much depth. My family raved over the lamb curry and butter chicken, both meats were so tender, fall apart type! The naan was also really good and super fresh. The service here is also really cheery, friendly and attentive. The inside is very clean and the vibe is great, perfect for families. I would go back again next time we find ourselves on this side of LA!!

Excellent food and value! Everything was DELICIOUS! Tucked on a small strip of fast casual restaurants adjacent to Norwood City Hall, Punjabi Tandoor is an easily accessible area with plenty of free parking. I ordered a combo with Butter Chicken, Lentils, Basmati Rice and Naan. It was perfect and really enjoyed every aspect of my meal. The Butter Chicken was great. There was a lot of depth of flavor and the chicken was roasted or grilled prior to being put in the sauce, so it was very tender. The sauce was creamy and dreamy- really a very satisfying dish. The other components like the rice, lentils and naan were spot-on. Everything harmonized well and to be honest, I ate until I was stuffed. I washed all this down with a mango laasi, and that was really the icing on the cake! Overall, a delicious meal and great value- you cannot go wrong with Punjabi Tandoor! read more

Normally, I am a huge fan of Punjabi Tandoor; however, I received an order of chicken vindaloo today that was not cooked properly. Upon closer inspection, it appeared that the chicken was partially frozen. I ate a few bites, thinking it tasted a bit off. Now, I am concerned that I'll fall ill later. This is definitely a food safety issue. Beware! read more
We've ate here multiple times and whether we dine-in or takeout the quality is always amazing. They have a large menu and offer to make dishes even more spicy upon request which my boyfriend loves. I personally love their garlic naan it's so tasty and fresh just makes it so enjoyable. The restaurant offers great sitting options both inside and out so that's always a plus in my opinion. My first time here, it's nice having good places to eat adjacent to AMC. I love these Indian fast food places because they're less expensive and the food is just as good as full service restaurants. I don't really need a fancy interior. The menu is huge and overwhelming, but the owner was very nice to explain - I just wanted a 2-item combo. It was a Tuesday night, so we were the only ones there along with the owner (I got his name but forgot to note it in my Yelp collection) and the cook. It was really awesome that the hot tables were closed and they cooked our food to order. It took about 10 min and the food was served hot and fresh. I got combo #5 with Lamb Rogan Josh, Saag Paneer, and Garlic Naan. There's an upcharge for lamb and garlic, but it's still a great meal for under $20. All 3 were some of the best Indian I've had, so I'm looking forward to going again. The lamb dish was savory - I recommend mild so the heat doesn't overwhelm the flavor. Saag paneer was about the same as I've had before, like creamed spinach with chunks of cheese. The garlic naan was so good served hot and toasty, crispy and not chewy/stale like some places. Next time I'll try their curry, chicken vindaloo, or chicken tikka masala. read more
We went here tonight for the first time, and really loved it. The workers here are super sweet and patient. I especially liked that he helped me with the menu as I'm not all that familiar with Indian food. My boyfriend said the quality was just as good as the food he had in India. :) We ordered 2 combos which were both huge. Everything is cooked hot and fresh as you wait, and you can see the cook making your order. I esp loved the naan which was crispy, hot and massive! Our food was cooked perfect and we were super impressed by this hole in the wall. The prices are decent as well. Give this place a try if you're craving something different. You won't regret it! Finally got to try this place out! I love Indian food and was happy that this gem opened up not too far from me. I ordered the Butter Chicken, Saag Paneer, chicken briyani, garlic naan, and veggie samosa. ALL items were great, packed with flavor. I went this Saturday around 1230pm. Not too busy but you will see the workers busy making and preparing the food so you know everything will be hot and fresh. I waited not too long for my food, he said 40 mins but I felt it was faster than that. The restaurant was nice and clean with a few tables if you want to dine in. Great experience. The two gentlemen did a terrific job. Our crazy toddler was with us and the gentleman that took our order was very patient and understanding. He helped us with deciding the food items and even altered items to cater to my vegan husband. Our favorite was their garlic Naan, it was freshly made and went well with the food. read more

The food here is great! I tried out a small bowl given I went during my lunch and had a little bit of time. I've never tried this cuisine, but I 100% recommend it! The service was great, as they let me try some sauces to see which I'd like! Overall, the inside is nice as well. The environment itself is welcoming! read more

Amazing service. Food is fantastic, no other Indian restaurants nearby unless you go to South Street/Pioneer. Wonderful relaxing shaded seating outside. Food quality is excellent! Healthy, different level of spice depending on your tolerance. Dinner & a movie. Even the free water tastes so clear and great! Get the GARLIC Nan!! It's worth it. read more
