He was severely matted & needed care. The workers were very clear on what would be best for him. This place did such a good job at taking care of him & his coat is so shiny!! We already knew he would need to be shaved because of his previous condition (sad because he was so cute, but needed to be done), but he came out so much cuter than we thought! I believe they called it the "summer cut"? When I picked him up he was in great spirits so I trust this place! With full grooming, nail trimming, & anal gland expression, the total came out to $85. The best groomers in ktown! The workers here were so patient and understanding about my concerns with my poodle who frequently gets matted and she can be a bit difficult to handle when the mats get closer to her skin. They talked me through what was going to happen and I felt at ease leaving my dog with them. I'm sure we've all heard the grooming horror stories where groomers will treat the pets poorly when they're not cooperating but I could tell they were so patient with her. When I picked up my dog, she was looking and smelling so fresh and clean! They did an absolutely impeccable job trimming her nails. I did a look over when we got home and they didn't knick her at all! However, if my picky dog likes something, most likely your angel will too! *I appreciate their transparency. They say yes to things they can or recommend. I asked them how much grooming for a small dog is about 3 months ago, and they said that it was $50, but I didn't go there at that time. I went to there today for my small dog, and I was very surprised after knowing the price for grooming for my dog.I thought the price was same so I didn't ask them the price for grooming at the first time. But it was over $72 so I asked them why. They said that my dog was an old dog who was 16 year old and that it was very difficult to groom my dog. That was the reason, but I never have heard the price would be raised with those reasons. They were upset and yelling. Of course, I was very upset also. But their attitude as the owner for their customer was very wrong and rude. They are not professional and not honest as the owner for the pet shop. I think they should have told me those reasons when I visited their store at the first time for my dog's grooming. Moreover, my dog is 5 lbs. I don't want to recommend this Puppy & I for your precious dog. And I can't give them even one star. Please, never go there. read more

I was excited to bring my dogs to this new groomer today. They have parking, take credit card and weren't too far from where I live. This place has about 11 Yelp reviews and a lot for doggy daycare, so I took a chance. I took my dogs here for grooming today, which I was initially satisfied with. Everyone was friendly and the groomer took notes about what I wanted for my dogs. They usually get puppy cuts, but she said that was just a "trim" and summer cuts were shorter so I opted for the summer cuts. Upon pickup, my dogs' haircuts were the shortest I've ever seen, which I can get past since the lady said it was a summer cut and it was short. I have no problem with that (though I don't find it attractive for them) because it looked extremely clean cut. I paid in full with tip, and left. The problem is that upon closer inspection after bringing my dogs home, I've discovered that one of my dogs had his right ear cut during grooming. Yes I said I wanted his ears to look clean, but it's not necessary to trim that closely! There's styptic powder on his ear very close to the base of his head, which is why I didn't notice it until later. I'm sad to say I'm disappointed and angry. I would've appreciated some honesty about this situation. This has never happened in all the years that I've been taking my dogs to get groomed. I can't even begin to voice how upset I am imagining the pain my dog had to endure and the fact that this groomer was not forthcoming. I won't be coming here again and I don't recommend that you do either if this is the way they practice. read more

I love Puppy and I! I've been here a couple of times now (I would say I'm a regular now) but their services are terrific and prices are reasonable for the amount of work they put in to my puppies, especially if their haircuts require more scissor work or if pups are matted and need more clipper work. Their haircuts always look on point and the groomers seem to know what they're doing, especially because they give helpful suggestions and tips for what they think is best and I trust them! I've been to other grooming shops that either do a poor service for what they charge, or even places that overcharge and still do terribly. My dogs would leave very anxious and afraid to come back the next time but for some miraculous reason they are so happy and tails are wagging once they come to Puppy and I (really not exaggerating) They also have free parking available in a small lot. I haven't had an issue with parking here and I make sure to let the business owners know that I am leaving my car parked here for an hour or two while I wait for my dogs if I do decide to go kill some time. They do share the lot with another business here so it's good to let them know, and they usually have no issue with me parking in the lot, as long as it's not for hours. Overall, 100% recommend to other dog owners who have been to other places and left dissatisfied because this place is a friendly and welcoming shop. I love this place! My dog, Zuko is super hyper so its hard for me to leave him home alone. The people here are so patient and have no problems answering my questions. They also groomed him because he's too furry and it gets everywhere. It takes a while for my husky to shed his coat so it really helped :) Hes still a puppy so he likes to chew everything and bit thru his last bed but this place has really cute beds. This is our new go to spot for grooming and things for our pup! We used to go to Mung, but had a bad experience and so we've been searching for a new place for a while. While this place charges a little more than some of the other grooming places in koreatown (we paid $50 for our shih tzu) it is SOOO MUCH BETTER than all the other places! The facilities are incredibly clean and each dog while waiting to be groomed or picked up has its own little room/cubicle. Other places have all the pups in a large pen together or stacked on top of each other. The owners are incredibly kind and very detailed with each grooming. We've never seen our pup come home groomed and cleaned so well. They do ear cleaning like pros and trim nails without cracking or bleeding! Also they sell such cute dog clothes for all sizes. If we ever need to board our dog, we will bring him here as well for sure! read more

I always come here to get my maltipoo pup groomed. I previously went to another place nearby but when I picked up my dog, I swear I could NOT recognize him. His fur was cut strangely, and they made him look really weird. (Sorry pup) Finally, his fur grew back out again so we searched for another place to go. Heard about Puppy & I from my neighbor, and I was really glad that we tried them out because the owner is very friendly and my pup was sooo adorable after his cut. When we picked him up, the ladies at the front angrily told us that he was bad and never to bring him back again because they won't take him anyways. Excuse you? FYI my dog is a 18 lbs terrier mixed. Literally the sweetest thing ever that loves everyone. He gets super excited when meeting new people and doing new things. I've taken him to other places and none of it had a problem. So maybe instead of bashing on other people's beloved pets, learn to communicate with different animals that have different personalities as you are a grooming services that deal with them. read more

This is the place I go when I need my dog to be looked after during the day. I usually drop him off in the morning before I go to work and pick him up before 5:30PM, which is when they close. Other places open at 9 AM, which doesn't work for me, because I start work earlier. The family that works here is so nice! They remembered me, even though it was my second time coming here. My dog isn't much of a social dog so I'm not surprised that he's always excited to see me and get out. Despite that, I know that he's in safe hands when he's here. I've seen them walk the dogs in morning and they all look happy! They keep the dogs in a pretty big box glass cage (with no top, of course), so that they can see through. They also let the dogs out to walk around the store. I think they also let them outside once in a while, but I haven't seen it myself. I haven't tried their grooming yet, but next time I drop him off and he's in need of a cut or bath, I'll definitely consider it! Great way to kill two birds with one stone. read more

I have a weird work schedule, but for the last leg, I left my dog in doggy daycare two days a week from morning until afternoon (2-3pm) over two months. I plan to continue to send him to doggy daycare because I can tell how much they love dogs and I infinitely trust them with my dog. My dog loves hanging out there and really likes the ladies that run the store. They also have doggy hoteling, and I will definitely use that service when I go out of town on work trips. I have also gotten my dog washed and groomed (nail trim; summer cut) as well, and they did a great job. They have free parking, the prices are more than fair, they do great work, facilities are clean, and they genuinely love and care for the dogs that come to them. I recently got a pup and want to treat him with the utmost care. After looking into a few groomers, I decided to try out Puppy & I, and I definitely won't be changing groomers. Because this whole process is fairly new to me, I had a lot of questions about why I needed to groom my pup, what kind of products are safe for my pup's skin type, how many times I need to brush his fur/teeth, etc. I'm at ease knowing that they use products with natural ingredients instead of chemicals.. their shampoos even accommodate to sensitive skin types!!! They were able to clearly answer all of the questions that I had and also helped me to realize the importance of grooming and hygiene for my dog. Even in their busy schedule, they patiently and thoroughly explained everything to me--I appreciated it so much!!! Something to keep in mind is that the price for each dog varies depending on factors such as the size of your dog, if your dog has fleas, condition of your dog's fur, etc. A short cut for my pup was completely affordable. One last thing: they sell doggy supplies and products here, too!! From doggy beds, leashes, collars, pee pads, toothpaste, and even to vitamins... (I didn't even know dogs had their own vitamins (?!?) !!!) I have definitely learned a lot about taking care of my pup. read more

I've been to multiple dog groomers, which I was told is not recommended for my dog because it's stressful for them, and honestly this is the best grooming shop I've visited. Groomers seem experienced and know what they are doing and very helpful with giving suggestions for my dog's well-being. Usually when I take my dog for her haircut, she gets very nervous and doesn't even like entering the shop but at this place she enters and leaves very freely and comfortably. This place damages and traumatizes your dogs. They provide ridiculous explanations as if they were speaking with a 7 year old child. All they care about is money without any regard for your dogs physical and mental health. Do not go here if you care about your dogs well being and if you don't want to scar your dog for life. My happy go lucky dog returned from here physically damaged with cuts and remains depressed for days afterward. I highly recommend this place if your dog is very fearful. They took such care when handling my dog and were so detailed. When I asked for a flea bath, they gave her a soothing bath after seeing she didn't have fleas but her skin was irritated from flea bites. This shop deserves full 5 stars because their grooming is awesome and they have a daycare/ boarding program as well. They are super friendly and well-knowledged with their info on dogs and how to take care of them. They also sell all kinds of dog products and fancy bags and collars and clothes as well. My dog's haircut always looks perfect once we visit this shop. I can understand why some dog owners get a bit tense when their dog accidentally gets slightly cut, but I totally get that it could also be my dog's fault too (especially since I know my dog is really hyper) And I'm thankful they let me know always that they put cotton balls in my dog's ears, to prevent risk of ear infections from baths. This is absolutely my go to place whenever I need to board my dog. I reached out via Yelp to inquire what I would need to get my pup situated while I left out of town. I really wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise I was messaged back immediately with my questions answered in their entirety. That started everything off on a good note (and the fact they're like two blocks away with a 5 star rating). Day of- I called in to make sure everything was still on track. They let me know slots were starting to fill up due to the holiday weekend. I made arrangements so I could get my pup in a little sooner, and everything was smooth sailing. No hassle, no huge loads of paperwork. They told me that I could call if I needed to alter the pick up time or date and pay the difference upon pick up. I actually ended up needing that bit of flexibility and couldn't believe how cheap everything came out to be. I felt bad having to leave my dog while I was out of town, but her excitement when I arrived definitely let me know she had a ball without me. Amazing prices, friendly owners, and flexible service. On the afternoon of Halloween I took my dog to be groomed at Puppy and I. They told me it would take about an hour, so I decided to take my newborn baby for a walk in the neighborhood, while leaving my car parked in their parking lot. I came back about an hour later and my car was GONE! When I went into Puppy and I, I asked where my car was and I could see the look of "oh we messed up" on their face. Yep, they had my car towed! They said it was my responsibility to inform them I was parked there. Let me get this straight, I am a paying customer who was waiting for my dog to be groomed by you and I'm suppose to tell you I'm parked at your business or else I will be towed. There is NO signs in the business stating such nor did they bother asking me if I was parked there. They said they went to the church and restaurant and asked around but didn't bother to call their customer whose dog you had. They had my number. This makes no sense! For all that effort, they failed to do the logical thing, call your paying customer. So here I am with a crying newborn in a stroller and a groomed dog with no leash left outside and handed the number to the tow truck company. They showed no remorse, no apology because "it was my fault I didn't tell them I was parked there." When I go to Ralph's I don't tell them I'm parked there so I don't get towed. It is implied when you are getting a service, you are able to park in the establishments parking lot. Fast forward to me having to call my husband at work and explain the situation. He immediately called Puppy and I who changed there story to me not being parked properly. Complete BS! Check your cameras I was parked perfectly in between the lines of this very tight parking lot. Regardless, a paying customer should not have been towed! My husband had to leave work early to come save us. After much debate, they agreed to pay half of the tow fee and didn't charge for grooming. Geez thanks! The tow fee was $256 and an extra $90 if picked up after 6pm. At this point it was after 4pm, and they only agreed to pay half of the $256. So I had no time to go home and feed my newborn as we had to be there before 6pm. It took us over 3 hours round trip to get to East L.A. to pick up my car in rush hour traffic. So missed wages for my husband, gas to get there and back and I'm still stuck paying half of the tow fee and did nothing wrong but try to give them my business. Needless to say Halloween was ruined as we didn't get home till after 7pm. I will never give my business to Puppy and I again. I was treated horribly and left to pay a substantial amount of money for their mistake. They should have done the right thing and owned their mistake and paid the tow fee. read more
