I love the location as well- right near the park and pier if you wanted to just hang out there while you wait. They don't crate the dogs when they are not grooming them - so all the dogs just hang out on the floor which I thought was pretty cute.

It's hard to take him for walks in the direction of Wag Club because he would stop at a corner 3 blocks away and not budge. Though this review is less about the dog and more about how Wag Club is doubly great for the humans behind the dog. Grooming::: Marta is wonderful. She's always attentive in grooming Zorba. She sometimes even does some last minute adjustments as I'm picking him up. Great attention to detail. There was some miscommunication regarding payment a while ago- John and the team provided clear communication and we were able to come to a resolution. Customer service was excellent. (Side note: They're quick with emails too.) Training::: Zorba did an agility training class with Rob (Dogboy) who is amazing. He's passionate about dogs, is a strong enforcer of positive reinforcement training, and is helpful around other behavior issues that your dog may be having. Daycare::: Everyone is so friendly and personable. Molly, James, Stephanie, Laura, etc. It feels like a community/family, which is nice to experience when I'm dropping off a beloved family member. Zorba has been going there for 7 or 8 months now, and I was surprised at how quickly they became familiar with him - even to recognizing him in the street. Zorba had an injury at one point (not from WC) and they were understanding and flexible with our daycare schedule. The facility is spacious by NYC standards and the space is always clean. They're responsible, reliable, fun, and I know I can always trust them to take care of my dog to the best of their ability. I once got out of a cab with Zorba and lost my grip on the leash. I panicked for a moment but then he ran right towards Wag Club and sat in front of the door. Doh. Stephanie took great care of him while I went back to the cab to get my things. Look how happy Zorba is to receive a treat! Of course, they always have him sit before he receives anything.

Appt at 2:30, I was 10 minutes late. I called to check in on my one cat who has asthma and breathing issues and was extremely stressed when I dropped him off. The dogs were running around loose in the grooming area which I'm sure is a plus for dog owners but not for me bringing in two cats. The lady checking me in said she only had one cat on the schedule, even though I booked and was confirmed via email for two. They just made a place in the corner on the floor to leave my cats until they were ready. I had called to see if my older cat had calmed down at all...they said they'd check and let me know but 30 minutes passed and nothing so I had to call again, which made me nervous. They said they'd check hadn't even started on them. This was an hour after I had dropped them off. When I picked them up they were just in the carriers on the floor in the corner again, sitting in piles of dog hair. Their carriers are covered with it. You couldn't have even wiped it off? Since this was CLEARLY not an environment I feel is safe or comfortable by any stretch of the imagination for cats I felt confused. I asked if they typically do cats. Yes they do. Okay, is there a designated cat grooming time or better time to come with cats versus dogs? They said yes in the mornings. So why didn't anyone mention that to me while booking? I'm sure this place is great for dog owners as the reviews suggest but I would absolutely NOT recommend bringing a cat here unless you want to feel like an afterthought. I wish I would've just turned around and went somewhere else but I wanted to give it a shot and didn't want to be dramatic. We won't be coming back.

True story: Mark once fought off a raccoon that attacked Sammy in the middle of the day during a walk and was much more concerned about Sammy being ok than himself. He is conscientious, great with animals, and takes wonderful photos. Everyone we have recommended Mark to has been very happy with him. We are lucky to have found him (by word of mouth originally) and we highly recommend him! Edit to add that he has been walking Sammy since 2018 and has more than once been able to squeeze us in on short notice for an unexpected weekend walk.

Our "corporate" walking service had permanently shuttered without notice, leaving us out in the cold. When I apologized for his conduct, Mark replied "no problem--I take care of animals for a living." I promptly took Mark's business card and he's been nothing short of a lifesaver ever since. Overnights, mid-day walks, longterm stays, Mark does it all, including feedings and prompt updates with photos. I couldn't begin to count the number of times each such service had to be requested on short notice and Mark was able to come through. If that weren't enough, my dog--a rescue-- has considerable behavioral deficits. Because of this, there are about 4 people in this world to whom I entrust my furry friend with complete confidence. Mark is one of them.
